Deleting the evidence can be seen by the court as trying to do the same as say sheading and burning documents that prove illegal activity, and a judge can order that the destruction of that evidence to be held against the person, if it's taken to court.
9:33 - In today's internet, deleting something that could be evidence of previous actions you don't want people talking about is almost always worse. The internet pays attention to all details. Someone will notice the sudden deletion, and it's almost guaranteed someone has a copy of the original vid laying around somewhere. It was an instant red flag when Jimmy went back and started making changes to some of his old videos to edit out...less-than-savory moments and/or people from them.
If you are entered into a drawing for buying something, it's only legal if there's another way to enter the drawing that doesn't require buying anything. Otherwise, it's a lottery.
@@dragonflarefrog1424 He took him completely out of context. The full clip had Upper Echelon outright saying that he knows that cable television laws don't apply to RUclipsrs. But for some reason Legal Eagle didn't talk about that, he simply cut out the next part of the video. The whole point of the original video by Echelon was to simply ask the question "at what point will these television laws and regulations apply to youtubers because someone like MrBeast already makes more money and reaches more people than most TV shows out there. So the fact that there are no strict regulations when it comes to people like MrBeast just because he is on youtube is very concerning.
I personally think all of this pales in comparison to the sexual allegations and how Mr Beast allegedly knew about it and did nothing until it came out into the light.
you mean that Delaware told him on day 1 that he was a convicted PDF and Mr Beast was cool with it, told his mother the guy was one and worked with him for years with children around?
@MrTerry before you do any giveaways on your channel, CONSULT WITH AN ATTORNEY!!! I don't think you are grasping LegalEagle's explanation. You may think you haven't done a lottery, but please get legal advice.
I just looked into it a little further and and a rough estimate of Doctor Mike's monthly income from videos, which varies obviously is in the range of 47.3K - $ 284K. However, Legal Eagle makes approximately 23.1K a week from his channel from an average over the last few week. I believe in both cases this is just ad revenue from RUclips rather than sponsors. So a wide range of numbers there but still no chump change, and as a lawyer I suspect Legal Eagle pays less taxes through various legal ways and companies he owns, making his estimate seem lower than it is
8:00 so whats is illegal is paying for a chance to win that is random. Pating to enter a contest is fine since the winner is decided by skill. A random giveaway is fine if the entry is free, but it is fine to make it so paying gives you more chances.
Re: the now-deleted tshirt video. It's not that it's so old that Mr Besst deleted. Its that they've been going through and purging anything related to the drama. In addition to deleting videos they've been using RUclips editing features to trim parts of others. This isn't just for the lottery videos, it's also the ones that provide evidence of the "child stuff".
A predetermined outcome is rigging no matter how they do it and what method they use. The rules being changed is also rigging. As he said, there would be a contract, so either Mr Beast broke it or people signed contracts that said rules changing is allowed.
this video barely covered anything substantial about the mr beast controversy. He goes over some laws regarding it but if you actually watch dogpack404's videos yes, there's two parts and a third is coming, it's a lot more detailed and illuminating. it's not just doing illegal lotteries or giveaways, the claims goes into poor working conditions on various projects (one case bordering on torture), deliberately marketing gambling to children through various means, scamming fans with signed products that aren't signed by him, knowingly hiring a sexual offender when his channel his primarily skewed towards kids. there's alot more i'm missing. The third video is apparently going into some sexual assault stuff? By far the most serious allegation.
The more of Legal Eagle I see, the less I like. A lot of the things he left out is far more important than what he mentioned. For example, he mentions the stream of the video is no longer available, but fails to mention this was one of 85 videos they removed or altered immediately following this employees initial video. He mentions friends and family members competing in games and that they weren't in any way given an advantage (this is complete bs, as others have pointed out when he gave Jake Paul a renown chef to partner with in a cooking competition after nearly being eliminated). One issue would be that it IS illegal for friends and family of employees to win, creating a situation where you have a contestant that can't win by law (employees have won at times, again, illegal in many places) whose entire purpose becomes foiling other contestants chances of winning. Those foils are then capable of targeting and greatly impact a contests chances of winning, negatively or positively. It's also important to note that virtually no laws in the US have been updated to include the internet. What inevitably happens is the standing laws will transition to also covering the internet, which would qualify YT channels as a broadcast network in this case, but it's going to have to involve a LOT of money for the legal system to do anything. Think that crypto scammer they brag about taking down, which has inspired thousands of copycats they have done nothing to stop or even slow the prevalence of. I'd be fine it Tiktok went away, but it's ridiculous that the government will go all hands on over Tiktok, but they won't lift a finger to address issues that directly impact us, their constituents.
Upper Echelon made a response to Legal Eagle's video. Personally, I think Legal Eagle just didn't have a very good take on the whole issue. He makes it seem like a big nothing burger in his video and that just comes off as a MID take, at best. DOGPACK cleared the video with his lawyers before posting it. If his lawyers missed the 'disparagement' part of that contract they'd better hang up their lawyer suits.
The the reason the law exists at 27:20 is really interesting, there was a game show where the organizers hired a man named Herb Stempel as an actor on a real game show and fed him the answers to create a ‘story’ to present as real. I can’t remember what the show was called to recommend any videos though. “Game show cheats and scandals” has a bit on it though
A lottery requires consideration, chance and s prize, a sweepstakes eliminates consideration so its totally legal and a competition eliminates chance, or at least makes it significantly a game of skill so its also legal
So I am watching (one could say reacting) to someone reacting to someone else reacting to a video. How many things inside of the same thing does it need to be for it to be considered Inception?
I agree with Mr Terry. I don't watch beast anymore because the whole contest/game show element isn't fun. I liked watching when he would just randomly tip a large amount to a streamer or a waiter/waitress... of course we found out some of that isn't real, but still is better than the contests.
Just to answer your question about how much Legal Eagle makes from his practice vs. youtube. I highly doubt it but it is certainly a fair part of his income (depending on what kind of law he practices and it doesn't seem to be on the high end of the pay scale since he solicits clients online rather than working for big companies or banks). Now, here is where it becomes interesting considering that Legal Eagle has 3.3 million subs and Doctor Mike (another great youtuber) who has over 12 million followers has openly discussed that he makes much much more from his videos than being a doctor. Doctors and lawyers are very high paying jobs, relatively speaking. Thus, knowing that Doctor Mike's doctor's salary is literally dwarfed by his video income, my guess would be that a large chunk of Legal Eagle's income is from videos, since I believ he is not a high priced corporate lawyer and some do lawyers make far less than you think. Then again some doctors also don't get paid huge salaries either, so it's a very rought estimate.
27:07 “we don’t know what that means” really? 25:39. He literally showed you what it means like 1 minute prior to you saying you don’t know what it means. Facepalm. (This is not meant to come across as aggressive, just incase it does)
I just knew it was all going to come to an end for Mr. Beast sooner or later… He’s just an ordinary young guy thrust into insane levels of wealth and viewership Odds are, something’s going to come out that damages the well-curated online content façade he has built
If you want a good recap of the situation I’d definitely recommend watching Upper Echelon’s “Mr Beast is covering up everything” parts 1 and 2. And that isn’t even getting into hiring a registered sex offender of a minor.
yeah you should really watch the actual video because legal eagle skips over most of the proof and most focused on allegations. also this video only covers part one nothing of part 2
It is great tbh. For ms. Finally. I have been saying for years this guy is shady and cannot be trusted. I watched a video where he gave a pizza delivery guy a whole house. That made that guy get a huge tax bill. He took his own life in the end. Mr Beast sets you up for failure and makes himself look great while doing it. If you look at all the videos where it is like put your hands on the cash and last one off wins it, it is always made up of his friends. So the rigging law is definitely coming into play there. This is the problem with Capitalism. Everyone is so focused on making money, that other people and the law are always irrelevant to them. Logan Paul is a great example of this. All these people think that they are above the law and can do whatever they like. And they always get away with it for years then it all falls apart, and then nothing is done about it and they do not get in trouble. Ive watched true crime docos where rich American Capitalist businessmen get fined for ripping people off, but the fine is like less than 1% of the money they made illegally. So it is worth it for them to break the law. Capitalism is evil and toxic and hurts the average person a lot. In Australia, we have limits on those Monopolies. You are not allowed endless control or riches here. That protects us. That is also why Rupert Murdoch moved to USA, to avoid Monopoly Laws in Australia.
