So I was on Guarulhos airport waiting for my delayed flght to Curitiba. A very small gate, few seats and few people. As they announce that the airplane will take a while to start boarding when, out of the blue, I saw this guy opening his guitar case and there he is: Yamandu starts playing right in the middle of the airport gate, between the chairs and crew members and stuff. I feel blessed. Such a nice person and a huge talent. Then the plane starts boarding, he takes his guitar into his case and boards. No questions asked. Applause
Yamandu is the bigest guitarrist of our time, for a loong time. He plays by breath and makes the most complex song flow sweetly as it was easy to play. The oposit is also true, he can turn the most simple music into a so passioned song that it is impossible to reproduce. I'm very proud to share his nacionality :) Viva Yamandu!

Rafael Rabelo was a brazilian virtuose guitar player and also Paco's friend.Yamandu is a true master.
Frank is the most eclectic listener of Brazilian Popular Music (MPB) that I know!
He's one of the kind! His musical influences comes from folk music ,from south of brazil and also from some great Argentinian folk and tango musicians. You should listen him playing Piazzola!
Eu sugiro o chorinho "Um a Zero".
I had the pleasure of seeing him playing live 3 times, his concerts are amazing, magical, and he is a wonderful person. He always have a story to tell about the piece he is about to play and every time he would stay a little longer after playing to talk to people, give autographs, take photos with everyone. A very special musician, and my favourite guitarrist
Wow. I'm speechless. Incredible! One of the best I've ever seen playing guitar. Apparently it's not the most complicated song he can play. When I see him play it seems like he doesn't make any effort to play with such skill. Thank you so much for introducing us to this string magician.
Yamandu represents brazilian music like no one else. He's a gold musician, and I can say with no doubt that he is the best seven strings player alive. I think you got the feeling of this sound. It is dedicated to another great guitar player, Rafael Rabelo.
Ciao Frank!
Yamandu Costa is simply the finest exponent of finger-style/nylon-classical guitar ever. No one is close to his technique or passionate musicality in any way. He's on a level all his own.
Hi Frank !! It's a seven string guitar, it's a very tradicional instrument in brasil, mainly when talking about samba or choro! Yamandu is one of the greatests of all time play this

I knew this guy when he won a "Sharp Award" for instrumental music and let me tell you; in the Brazilian instrumental music it was like Hendrix became known to the public, the guy playing was just too insane! He took some criticism because he played way too fast (faster than this video) and not being that clean but man... MAN!!!
