Too many of Poles promising picks has revealed what happens when you select players mostly for physical attributes and less research of a player's football IQ.
Everybody acts like a rebuild should be done overnight. I believe Poles has done a decent job. At the end of the day it's how the players perform. The Bears biggest problem is the trenches on both sides of the ball.
He’s done more bad then good. Hired terrible coaches, botched trades and not acquiring good talent in the trenches. We gave him a pass until this year because with the new weapons, we’re supposed to be a borderline playoff time. But this year we have way more questions than answers.
Ryan Poles should be fired. He has had 31 draft picks including those he's traded for players. 10 of those players are no longer with the team. 5 remain that are certified busts. Another 5-6 are leaning in a bad directions. Factor in Eberflus and a few bad free agency contracts and this is a no brainer.
One of the biggest issue with Poles is he has drafted no elite pre-bowl type players. Teams need elite players that step up to make impact plays in key situations.
Drafting is not easy. Poles is drafting well above the average. Of all players drafted 2005-2014 only 26% became long term starters. Less than 10% of those drafted in Rd6 or 7 became starters. Even for picks in the top 10, only 38% resigned with their original team. In the first 2 rounds Poles drafted Caleb, Rome, Wright, Brisker, Gorden, Dexter and Stevenson (and Sweat if you include traded 2). All of them are starters for the Bears and most would be starters for 1/2 of the league. I think Caleb, Rome, Wright, Brisker and Gorden all have potential to become elite with Dexter and Stevenson not without chance.
@arnelindberg7915 Yeah, I disagree. Wright was a first rounder and is probably just above average. Stevenson has become and absolute head case that is more a detriment to the team. Brisker might never step on the field again. Roschon Johnson has been a massive bust. Amegadjie is an injury prone disaster. Williams and Odunze have been massive disappointnents, but I think a lot of that is due to coaching. Compare Rome to other WRs drafted last year. He's near the bottom of the bunch. Nix & Daniels have definitely outplayed Williams. Hell, Maye has shown more promise on a much worse team. Gordon might be the only pick that has played up to his 2nd round selection.
Kemet had a better yr with Justin then any other yr I notice you didn't say that . DJ Moore had a better yr with Justin then this yr . Not even close I notice you didn't talk about that either.
He has to be because his channel depends on the Bears and they are stuck with Caleb for the next 3 years and anyone that isn't blinded by hope can see it's going to be a sad 3 years. Can't garner new subscribers pointing out that this team is going to be shit for 3 years then need a new QB
@@holdwhatdoor7629 Blinded by hope??? You are the type of guy who would have given up on Troy Aikman, Terry Bradshaw, John Elway, and Peyton Manning after TERRIBLE rookie seasons. WAY too early to tell how good a QB will be after one season.
I've been a bear fan all my life. And I'll tell you after this year I'm not listening to any more games. You guys do a great job at Chat sports but I'm done with the bears. Too many things wrong. Seriously too depressing. It's like I want to drink with you but it's for all the wrong reasons this year.
Agreed.... I still listen to the games... but I have no vested interest in them. Ironically, I've become more of a Steeler fan because they are thr old school tough defense/hard running team that the Bears are supposed to be, except Pittsburgh maintains a standard of winning and good coaching... it's crazy too, because tons of fans want to fire Mike Tomlin because he hasn't won a playoff game in a while... but he's never had a losing season in 16 years as the Steelers HC... Bears fans would kill for a HC like that. Lovie is about as close as we've had to that in recent years and he had 3 losing seasons in 9 years as HC and one 8-8 year.
That’s a simpleton analysis. You’re totally ignoring that Poles took us from cap hell to one of the best cap situations in the league. Yes he had to give up talent to do it, but ultimately it put the team in a better position long-term.
@DProductions - You make a very good point regarding the salary cap. The decision to draft Caleb Williams vs. trade down and keep Justin Fields and draft a different QB will make or break the Bears and Ryan Poles. If Caleb Williams is able to turn it around next season, then Ryan Poles will probably get an extension.
As a Redskin fan...What I don't understand... why didn't Poles interview the other QB prospects in the draft. He just decided to go with Caleb and didn't even bother to interview..He just went with what the media and these so called "sports analyst" thought of the best quarterback in the draft.
He was unanimously first in the class. If we took maye and you had the choice between Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels the redskins would take Williams 100/100 times
@Bruno and Breeg-Yosh - Ryan Poles didn't want to draft QB Jayden Daniels because they were trying to move away from a Justin Fields like or type of QB for a more pure poclet passer. An interview would have been a waste of time. The Commanders supposedly had no interest moving up in the draft. They wanted Jayden Daniels over Caleb Williams. Insiders say Kliff Kingsbury preferred Jayden Daniels after having experience working with Caleb Williams at USC. The notion that every team would take Caleb Williams over the QB they chose is not necessarily true. Teams wanting to trade up were not willing to meet the asking price which does say something about how they felt regarding Caleb Williams vs. drafting someone else.
@@corradomascitti88 crazy how you knew this but every draft big board around the league had Williams at 1, maybe you should become a GM you must be some kind of genius
Poles biggest sin was keeping flus over harbaugh. That trumps any good players he’s acquired. Harbaugh would’ve brought stability in house instead of this patchwork disaster and poles chose and manufactured the disaster. Unforgivable
I'm going to be a contrarian and say the Bears problem is really a league problem. The problem is that there's only one path to the Super Bowl, through the quarterback. It divides the NFL into the haves and have nots. You either have a top tier quarterback, or you have no shot. You can't have a competitive league where a third of the teams have four wins or less in mid December because of weakness at one position. I bet you can name the majority of playoff teams for next year right now. That puts teams in a bind. Either you overpay a very average quarterback and left tackle or you risk having none. There has to be more than one path to the playoffs. You have to be able to get there by having a game manager or young quarterback, running the ball, and playing defense. But that requires the league to let defenders hit people, not in the head or the knee, but hit them hard enough that you don't want your elite quarterback throwing 40 times a game.
i miss when football was football, but considering where the league has been for a while now, the bears gotta keep up with the times either way. but i completely agree with you.
Bro thus is NOT the year to make the " qb is the only route" argument.... maholmes is having a SHIT year and javkson, allen, herbert, hurts, all the qbs are being saved by Running games and good def..... This year is the best argument of " having a good team wins championships and a solid qb" In fact last years cheifs wo. Tje super bowl cuz of def not qb play..
@@aaronclay4665 But that is exactly the point. Mahomes isn't even playing well, and they've already clinched the playoffs and their division. What's that, five divisions in a row and four out of five home seeds? The Bills clinched the playoffs, long ago. Again. The Lions, with 19 players out on defense, can still be a number one seed. They might have two or three NFL players left on defense. Everybody else they signed off the street. You take 19 players out on the Lions, Chiefs, or Bills offense and you think they are fighting for a one seed?
Better than Fields as a rookie? Williams should easily make top 100 (better than 84) voted by other players. To refresh your memory what a nice deep ball looks like, go watch Fields rookie highlights...
Man… Harrison is preaching on what I have been complaining about with Poles. And there is more that Poles screwed up on. This is a comparison on 2 GMs.
Everything Poles did messed up the momentum the Bears had going last year. Didn’t need to trade Fields messed up the momentum. Didn’t need to trade Montgomery messed up. The momentum. Didn’t need to trade Roquan messed up the momentum traded Khalil Mack messed up the momentum. Poles did nothing but mess up the team even more.
Khalid was a BAD CONTRACT he was making a 100m and wad NOT performing at the time he couldn't stay healthy after the 2018 season so I'm not holding him to the fire for that BUT I am holding him to the fire for the offensive line
The 2021 Ryan Pace team was max salary and had some veteran long-term term contracts. Ryan Poles started from scratch, saved the Bears a ton of money, started with youth, and he has been very careful to avoid bad contracts that the Bear's can't walk away from after, say, two years. That goes a long way because under Pace, there was little salary cap space in 2021. Furthermore, Ryan Poles is still building. I don't know why anyone thinks the 2024 Bears was a "max effort" all out build. Caleb Williams is just another piece of the puzzle. If Poles didn't pick Caleb Williams, the fans and media would've called for his firing after the draft. Next year, we can draft offensive line and easily get rid of some of the veterans who aren't producing because they aren't locked into 4 or 5 year deals like they were under Pace. Give Poles credit for the things he has done well. All teams have players that underperform. But at least Poles didn't mortgage the future to sign them.
You have to ask yourself, will Ryan Poles take a Bear team in the next ten years, to a Super Bowl championship. If you can answer yes or no will decide on whether Poles should remain or get terminated.
No they wouldn’t. There are. Tons of people who look at facts. Those are real fans. I would have been glad trading down as fans were screaming Fields name his last day. Poles wanted his guy and we got him and now we will suck. Poles got swift and let Montgomery walk. Poles Traded Fields when Fields on Pittsburgh had three good targets 4-2 leading the Division and one Turnover that’s it. With only two good Targets and not even a full season Fields was 7 and ten. All Fields had was Moore and Kmet Williams has them an Allen and Odunze and Carter. Carter looked good early on but is Caleb will pass guys up to try to be the hero.
it is kharma, they should of build up around Fields after all the crap they put him through. Now QZBs know the Bears have no loyalty and clueless in football operations...
I'm sick of people pretending this defense is great since 2022. The run D has never been good! It stinks! They aren't even close to great Ds the Bears have had! They give up on 3rd constantly! He signed ONE good pass rusher! Billings was the only run stopper! Poles has stunk with the defense and the Oline
Poles is really getting exposed. He was trying to hide the third round draft pick at tackle. He was a third rounder, he look like he didn't belong on the field. Velus Jones, Chase Claypool , Nate Davis. The list goes on. He did good with the trade to Panthers, made some other good moves. Should of resigned Montgomery and Smith. Let Smith walk because he didn't fit the Cover 2 defensive scheme he is arguably the best linebacker in the game. What is he doing
They all suck on the bears they go somewhere else they excel MCCASKEY SELL THE TEAM DO THE FANS A FAVOR SINCE YOU CAN'T PUT A QUALITY TEAM ON THE FIELD
Bears management is just like Chicago politics Politician: “We’re going to strengthen the middle class” Bears GM: “We’re going to build through the trenches” Neither happens
COACHING...We only added a center and drafted a rookie left tackle in the 4th round to update our OL. The year before when we had Ron Rivera (horrible coach) as a coach. We had the worst OL in the league that led the NFL allowing sacks....Dan Quinn becomes our coach and we're a top 5 OL now
@Brunosuon13 that's what I'm saying. That was the worry for putting Drake Maye or Jayden if Commanders picked them. And the Commanders oline is the surprise shock for me like Texans and Buccaneers run last season. Unexpected
injury bug bad fortune sure. What’s he going to finish with this year? A 14-37 record? Not to mention your most recent season being almost as bad as the first. The losing streaks the coaching fail. It’s hard to be “in” on poles. Thank God you got a haul but it was for a number 1 pick everyone would have gotten a haul for that value. I can’t think of any moves besides that one that really stick out at you and go yeah this guys good. I mean maybe his deals with dj moore and JJ were good? I don’t know. The sad thing is that then what Kevin Warren is in charge? Dude has nothing good on his resume but the vikings stadium and he can’t even get ours built. FAILURE EVERYWHERE. My minimal hope is that they can get a coach and develop Caleb. That’s it, hopefully sometime after they can figure out who’s steering the ship at Halas Hall because whoever it is has got to go.
@Jackson - You make a lot of good points and observations. My concern is that Ryan Poles is not exactly certain that he made the best choice regarding drafting Caleb Williams vs. trading down for picks while retaining Justin Fields and/or drafting Bo Nix or J.J. McCarthy at #9. Another concern is the Bears are allowing Caleb Williams to run the team. I believe he had a part in firing Shane Waldron and Matt Eberflus on the field and off the field. Ryan Poles needs Caleb Williams to succeed and will do whatever it takes to make him happy. For that reason, I believe the Bears will hire an offensive head coach. I hope the HC ends up being Joe Brady or Kevin Stefanski if Cleveland fires him after the season. If the Bears hire Mike Vrabel or another defensive head coach, who is going to be an effective OC that would never leave for a HC job?
I see this channel is now devoted to getting the GM fired. This is every video you put out now. Seems like these channels aren’t able to talk football anymore just keep the drama behind the teams the focus. Let me find a channel that actually has football knowledge to share other than always talking about how good or bad a guy wearing a suit is at their job.
Rookie Justin Fields had a Wide receiver who is not playing in the NFL anymore. Rookie Caleb got GREAT RECEIVERS who’ll probably be in the Hall of Fame 🤔
The commanders OLine was shit last year. This year Jayden making them look good because hw knows how to get rid of the ball accurately and can run if needed
Poles fixed the oline for Mahomes. I was 100% sure he could buikd a wall for Bears. We're still in rebuild, but this squad lack of discipline and coach unawareness failed miserably
Instead of “I think” about the position group, I would like to see the stats with it. How many drops did the WRs have in 2021 and 2024. How many sack for the lines? QBR for each year. Stuff like that. Back up your opinions.
They didn't sit Fields when they were tanking. He was out there every week getting beat on and pummeled by other teams' defenses. No one thought he should sit. Caleb can take his lumps too. That's what rookie QBs should expect when they are drafted high to bad teams. They should expect to be wrecked. Besides what would it accomplish? They aren't winning any games. Let him get experience. Maybe he can grow up a little and stop being such a child.
I think poles should stay and yes I agree w all the negatives in this video but you can not just gloss over the salary cap and draft picks like they don’t mean much when those two things were one of the main reasons Pace got fired. Those two things separate good and amazing GM. Howie is one of the best GM bc of how he manages their salary cap and draft picks. Poles has put us in a position to at least get a shot at long term greatness. Pace put all his eggs in one basket and screwed us over.
@trilltarheel Put fields on this team they easily make playoffs. we seen how good him and dj connection was like in 1 year.. give him Keenan and rome 😮💨
@@trilltarheel Justin was a starter for Steelers thru 6 weeks (4-2) and had better stats than Caleb (especially in the red zone / scoring totals, and for core passer stats -- not related to total yardage which can be empty) 😅😂 Sorry, but Cole and DJ missed Fields in 2024 and it was obvious that Williams' processing (time to throw rate is similar to JF) and deep ball wasn't as advertised or hyped even for rookies (CW has a sub-30% completion rate on attempts with 15 or more air yards) Maye who has a wrose roster, Nix, Daniels all have looked better than him (McCarthy got hurt and the QBs room is deep in Minny now) Not to mention former QB1 had a lot more fans to cheer about in latter parts of seasons than QB18 ("We Want Fields!" Chants in the Atlanta game for 2023 come to mind)... I doubt want to cheer for the team as much this year in Week 15
What a mind numbingly idiotic take. Acting like Caleb hasn’t led multiple drives at the end of games that should have been winners if it weren’t for the D/Special Teams. Washington, GB, Minnesota, Detroit. All winnable games because of Williams. Not at all his fault that they didn’t win all of those. Meanwhile Fields was a total bum in the 4Q for us, and only led two game winning drives in 3 years. His per game stats are terrible, as he passes for about 150 yards and about 1 TD a game. To go along with about one TO a game. In his fourth year. And Tomlin thinks so little of him he benched him for Russ even though he went 4-2. 😂 Fields stinks, and there isn’t an advanced metric you could dig up that would suggest otherwise. You people are delusional.
This might not be a metric but it’s obvious: Caleb was the #1 overall pick and plays with much better teammates than Fields ever had in Chicago. Despite this, he’s lost 7 games in a row and often plays like crap until the 4th quarter, when the Bears are down three touchdowns, the game is already out of reach, and the opposing team is either in a prevent defense or has substituted in backup players. 😂
Pete Carol can bring out the best in offense. He loves tight short window throws work the field keep opponents defense on field. In a sense Caleb plays like Russell- but doesn't stay in pocket due to weak oline and hasn't tried the high arc moon passes like Russ does. Gives WR time to get downfield- then the ball drops in. Caleb Needs more practice fir that pass.
I just don’t understand why the Bears can’t hire proven winners. Hope is not much of a strategy and the Bears are Always in hope it works out land. Recipe for what we have seen the last 11 years.
@JuanGarcia - With Montgomery, the Bears have a guy that can move piles and convert 3rd/4th and short runs into 1st downs. The Bears don't have that type of back. That is why Shane Waldron used an OL as a RB in short yardage situations. I don't think he was wrong for that. Caleb didn't cleanly get him the ball vs. Washington.
Poles is done. Red flag 1? Not signing Roquan to a huge long term deal. He is what a Bears linebacker is….the mold of Singletary, etc…… Flag 2…..He sealed his fate when he didnt remove Flus last January.
Just fire Chris Morgan and get a offensive mind coach and pray he get the right offensive line coach get a real Center and a real RG I think are LT just need to get stronger he’s only 25 years old it’s hard to play that position give him another year
Shocking to who? I’m the guy calling Poles too cute with o line signings for 3 years. Skins fixed their team in one year with actual good free agents, not cast offs playing out of position. It’s possible to do, Poles is just too smart to fall for that “pay for talent” trap🙄
What good has he done? Drafting Caleb? That's one. Trade with The Panthers? That's two. Let's look at the bad he's done. 1. Traded Essentially a 1st round pick for Claypool. 2. Drafted and kept Velus longer than he should've. 3. Kept Flus instead of upgrading at the Head Coach position. 4. Lost Roquan Smith and David Montgomery and replaced them with worse versions. 5. Has the same record as Flus, difference is Poles is the GM, not the coach. 6. Has failed to adequately address the offensive line. Bad outweighs the good by this list. Idk what list you were looking at.
@ The Carolina trade is the most impactful out of all these (maybe firing flus but maybe he didn’t have the option to hire or fire him) his draft picks outside of velus, Pickens haven’t been bad. Getting harbaugh could’ve been out of his reach with Warren and his relationship in college. I do think poles has done a lot of bad but this teams talent has gotten better we just need coaching and trenches which we can get this year with lots of capital and the best spot for a coach to be.
@@JmJOnToppoles gets too much credit for CAR trade. This is a trade 30 other GMs make. It wasn’t due to his negotiation skills. Where were those negotiations skills when he gave up the 32 pick for a player that Pittsburgh didn’t want and then flipped him with a 7th for a 6th round pick. Rumor had he could trade Velus for a 6th but wanted a 4th and then cut him. Traded Herbert when they eventually needed him. Signed Nate Davis, traded for N’Keel Harry, traded away Roquan, Mack and signed Edmounds. You say he did more good than bad because you’re valuing the CAR trade. Let’s see how those players work out
@@Joseph-gm3qm I’m for sure questioning poles and the ownership, but idk how much say he’s getting in coaching with Warren and Mccaskey. They better not mess this up bc even with all the fuck ups this team has they still have unlimited potential
I’m gonna say it again for all the fans watching this episode we cannot blame Ryan poles for players that we acquire. That should be better than what they are. That is a direct reflection of coaching. We spent a lot of money on wide receivers. They should be better our passing game is terrible. Our quarterback has had three different OCs in 16 games.
I’ve been saying under Nagy we had an elite defense, were always in the game and the offense wasn’t too terrible just for some reason really atrocious in the red zone!
@@michaeldavis2098 Dude, Carolina was desperate af for Bryce Young. You or I could've made that trade. The rest of the trades, signings and drafted players have all been mediocre at best.
@@aaronclay4665no they wouldn’t be fine. They would be am7-8 win team. Fields is not good. They needed a different QB. Would have been nice if they got a real coach and a real o line
@MichaelDavis - If the Bears didn't make that trade with Carolina, the Bears would have been more active in free agency. The starting offense might have looked like.... QB Bo Nix - Drafted at #9 / Tyson Bagent RB DeAndre Swift/Herbert/Johnson WR1 Keenan Allen (Trade) WR2 Calvin Ridley (Free Agency) WR3 Velus Jones / Tyler Scott / DeAndre Carter TE Cole Kmet / Everett It is possible that Ryan Poles could have added another WR3 like Marquise Brown or Tyler Boyd. The trade down for DJ Moore, Caleb Williams and others didn't necessarily make the team better. I believe the Bears could have and would have signed Calvin Ridley if they didn't get D.J. Moore. Is Bo Nix better than Caleb Williams? Caleb maybe has the better arm with more athleticism but Bo Nix is more accurate. Interesting debate. What do you think? Do you prefer who the Bears have now or who they probably would have had?
our corners don’t wrap up. jaylon johnson is so hyped but when he tries to tackle anyone they bump right off him for extra yards then someone else comes and wraps up
You speaking about the receivers in a tone that doesn’t require Caleb to deliver them the ball. They got more catches than drops. They have drop balls and missed assignments but Caleb has missed wide open layups. We are better at receiver position. And QB position.

Didn't know Poles was part of the coaching staff. All Poles can do is improve the roster. If you don't have coaches, then you don't have a team, regardless of who your players are.
i think Poles should be kept due to the moves he was able to make...that being said, if one of these high profile coaches push to have "their" GM, then I feel we have to let Poles walk and have a solid group moving forward.
Its a process, we're year three, year 1 secondary, year 2 O-Line, year 3 D-Line, for example. Annndd yet here we are, year 4 plug holes TE WR RB et cetera though we're still not there
The only problem I have is that they started Williams right away. The unrealistic expectations followed when he showed some progress. He needed to see the different stadiums and get a big picture view of the NFL
Most of the other rookie QBs drafted in the first round started right away and went to far worse teams. They are all playing better than Caleb with less to work with
@holdwhatdoor7629 maybe so, but the bears don't have the line those other teams have. Williams is a guy that wants to extend the play to get down field. That is the opposite of what they have been running
There is actually some really good comments sprinkled in throughout this. Hate the team right now, but the fans deserve better. I’ll add that the main problem with the Bears is money/McCaskey Family. Unlike most owners, the family NEEDS the bears to be profitable. Unfortunately, for us fans, there’s no win for the ownership to serve BOTH the modern NFL and the “spirit” of the team while being profitable. The Bears M.O. is defense first (it also speaks to the hear of the city) yet the league has largely moved past that as a viable strategy. As history has shown, ownership cannot build a functional offensive team that works for more than a sporadic year (Trestman/Nagy). All said, it feels like the bears are trying to pivot, but don’t know what the hell they are doing. So they are building from the outside-in rather than “from the trenches”. I also think Poles thinks he’s smarter than he truly is as a talent evaluator by reaching on unproven talent with upside-especially on the oline. Rant over
Poles has gotten a lot of grace from me because of the trade that brought DJ and 4 draft picks. Recent content has pointed out his picks aren't fruitful past the 2nd round. But I want him to stay just to stop the cycle of GMs and Coaches that come in, tear down the team, and get fired because their 2-3 years of rebuilding wasn't good enough
It's such a hard question to answer because what is the probability of Bears obtaining a better GM? If we fire him and end up with someone worse, then we'll have "Fire's Remorse"
Oh come on his third picks have been horrible he has neglected the offensive line for 3 years never mind center.he loved the last bears head coach who should had been fired last year.wow he made one trade🫑
@TheRichb688 I agree with you on the offensive line part. But the fact that Nate Davis decided to be a quitter isn't exactly Poles' fault. Velus was a bust, but Amagadgie is a rookie that has gotten no practice and literally got thrown to the wolves. There's no telling what he might become yet. Besides, he's hit on more picks than he's missed on. And what GM out there hits on every pick?! Get serious dude, who do you expect to replace him and do a better job?
@@United_Corporations_of_Americanate Davis is poles fault. There were red flags coming out of tenn that he did not like football and hated practice then. Ppl inside halas hall even advised poles on that and he went against their wishes
@@United_Corporations_of_AmericaPoles should have never signed Davis and if he would have listened to others in the league and performed due diligence, we wouldn’t be in the position we are in now.
You’re comparing 2021 to 2024, I get it but that’s not a proper evaluation for Poles. 2022 to 2023 to 2024 is all that matters… - 2022: tear down of the roster (3-14) - 2023: first year of rebuild (7-10) - 2024: all-in on playoffs (4-10 thru 14) This year Poles was pushing for a playoff birth and has failed in every area from last year. I can see a reason to keep him but all of these miscues this year, the firing of the new OC, retained HC, and eventually the interim HC/OC…it looks way worse with full context.
I mean you look at this team all they need is OL and one more edge rusher. That’s literally it. You can fix this team in one offseason and they can actually be decent.
I feel badly for several of the Bears players, but especially Cole Kmet. 5 fucking years of futility. TE, the QB's best friend is so under utilized here. Always has been. And we have a damn good one that's rarely used. Think Travis and Patrick for proof. Cole, a trade to KC would likely end with a HOF career.
Poles' f-ups: Eberflus, Waldron, dogsh!@ o-line and d-line, Jayden Daniels vs Caleb Williams?, passing up on Harbaugh/Sean Payton, paid keenan allen when we should have gotten a blue chip o lineman, the Yale OT, most TOXIC locker room in the NFL? POLES NEEDS TO GO

As Jason kelce said the bears need to prove they belong in the nfl.
Damn. I mean I'm a Packers fan and I'm just here to see how Bears are right now. But wow.
It's bad right now
Yes, Ryan Poles should be fired. What is he operating a 5-year or 6-year rebuild plan.
Can we fire the owner? If we get rid of Poles what GM can turn our franchise around
Yeah fire McCaskey

It is very depressing
That’s a simpleton analysis. You’re totally ignoring that Poles took us from cap hell to one of the best cap situations in the league. Yes he had to give up talent to do it, but ultimately it put the team in a better position long-term.
Realest analysis in the comments if you can't see that fact 🤔.
Let me know when the Bears win a Super Bowl. Nothing else matters. Stop living in abstract land.
Excepting Roquan...sure
He got rid of bad contracts, which anyone could do. What a dumb take. 😂
And as a redskins fan you wanted Celeb just as much as
@Bruno and Breeg-Yosh - Ryan Poles didn't want to draft QB Jayden Daniels because they were trying to move away from a Justin Fields like or type of QB for a more pure poclet passer.

This year is the best argument of " having a good team wins championships and a solid qb"
In fact last years cheifs wo.
@@aaronclay4665 If the Bears lost 19 offensive players on I-R, they'd be clinically dead.
We knew we needed to build the wall, but took Rome and a punter. They are good, but had zero idea the line would get stampede this badly
He didn't trade Montgomery he left via FA
Khalid was a BAD CONTRACT he was making a 100m and wad NOT performing at the time he couldn't stay healthy after the 2018 season so I'm not holding him to the fire for that BUT I am holding him to the fire for the offensive line
@ my bad. That’s true.
💯
Yet his record is 14-34 and counting in the loss column.
So many bad takes like this one, which is why the Bears are where they are.
Caleb has a super team of WR’s on paper, it’s easy to change the narrative after the lack of success.
Not if you can't Block aint All😅😂
Have to get open and actually catch the ball and block paper means nothing
Yes. Let’s rebuild around Caleb.
Isn't that how things are done in other franchises? Try to find a QB and build around them?
I don't think Caleb is worth building around, he is not that good
it is kharma, they should of build up around Fields after all the crap they put him through.
What is he doing

injury bug bad fortune sure.
How many years do we have to NOT draft top tier Oline help??????
They literally drafted Darnell Wright with their first round pick the year before last. It’s not enough obviously, but they have done it.

They should sit Caleb for the rest of the year.
Yeah sit him so he can start next season holding on to the ball too long. Who sits a rookie?

I remember Pace trading many of our high draft picks too leaving Poles with not one first rounder in his first year.

Sorry, but Cole and DJ missed Fields in 2024 and it was obvious that Williams' processing (time to throw rate is similar to JF) and deep ball wasn't as advertised or hyped even for rookies (CW has a sub-30% completion rate on attempts with 15 or more air yards)
Maye who has a wrose roster, Nix, Daniels all have looked better than him (McCarthy got hurt and the QBs room is deep in Minny now)
Not to mention former QB1 had a lot more fans to cheer about in latter parts of seasons than QB18 ("We Want Fields!" Chants in the Atlanta game for 2023 come to mind)...
Yes he should be fired
I just don’t understand why the Bears can’t hire proven winners. Hope is not much of a strategy and the Bears are Always in hope it works out land. Recipe for what we have seen the last 11 years.
Montgomery and khalib Herbert are way better than DeAndre Swift. The Bears got that one wrong
I heard they matched the Lions offer but he decided to leave. Smart man. Getting away from this clown show franchise
He is what a Bears linebacker is….the mold of Singletary, etc…… Flag 2…..He sealed his fate when he didnt remove Flus last January.
can nit argue those points, I will give him 1 more year...
I wonder what the Redskins record would be if they played in the NFCN?

What does 'push' mean?
Players are pretty much as you advertised. On the other hand: Salary Cap: Much, much better in 2024 than 2021. Draft capitol - Better.
I think poles has done more good than bad and will get another chance next year
What good has he done?
Let’s see how those players work out
@JmJOnTop I wouldn't trust Poles judgment on Head Coaches, if it were strictly his choice, I personally believe we'd still have Eberflus.

@MichaelDavis - If the Bears didn't make that trade with Carolina, the Bears would have been more active in free agency. The starting offense might have looked like....
QB Bo Nix - Drafted at #9 / Tyson Bagent
RB DeAndre Swift/Herbert/Johnson
WR1 Keenan Allen (Trade)
WR2 Calvin Ridley (Free Agency)
WR3 Velus Jones / Tyler Scott / DeAndre Carter
TE Cole Kmet / Everett
It is possible that Ryan Poles could have added another WR3 like Marquise Brown or Tyler Boyd.

Yes
Rant over
You forgot special teams, Harrison. 🤦♂️ Do better
It’s better
@Stovetopanimation2 still should bring it up 💁♂️
@@renecarteir8092 yeah
It would have been nice if pick 9 and down was focused on trenches. Maybe this draft we can get it right.
I think Poles had the right mindset coming in, but we can't excuse the results just because he had the right mindset when he started.
It's such a hard question to answer because what is the probability of Bears obtaining a better GM? If we fire him and end up with someone worse, then we'll have "Fire's Remorse"
Kyle Gordon Is The Only Promising Pick Poles Made. Extend Him
This resembles what FIELDS went thru with staff changes every year.
Really sick of ppl blaming everything on Poles, knowing damm well the only reason we didn't get Harbaugh is bcuz of that petty idiot Warren!!
Oh come on his third picks have been horrible he has neglected the offensive line for 3 years never mind center.he loved the last bears head coach who should had been fired last year.wow he made one trade🫑
No but when he says this is the best O-line he ever had there is a red flag for you
@TheRichb688
I agree with you on the offensive line part.

2022 to 2023 to 2024 is all that matters…
- 2022: tear down of the roster (3-14)
- 2023: first year of rebuild (7-10)
- 2024: all-in on playoffs (4-10 thru 14)
This year Poles was pushing for a playoff birth and has failed in every area from last year.
I can see a reason to keep him but all of these miscues this year, the firing of the new OC, retained HC, and eventually the interim HC/OC…it looks way worse with full context.
Poles out
Let’s remember…one of his 1st personnel decisions was letting James Daniels walk & sign with the Steelers.

Should have been at 8 wins with rhat schedule
start boycotting games!! Send a message to the owners!!!
POLES NEEDS TO GO
We're keeping Brown HC, price is right and the team is responding, most important the price is right
2025 bears draft better be 3 top O line picks..nothing less
No poles should not be fired
