    I think people failed when they thought they could go into the game and run through the enemies. This isn't Diablo/POE or any other generic ARPG. It is soulslike combat.

      Yeah the devs weren't lying when they said that the game is a unique take on the genre it has elements of all those things not one and it definitely shows in the gameplay a lot of these players think is one or the other and they're having a hard time adjusting

    Was actually a really decent video and you have some of the same views as me.
    The thing with gathering and actually take time to prepare with some slow gameplay in between you are pushing content I love that and hope that gathering materials etc will stay.
    Also the healing thing its great to have tons of food when you go enter a bossfight/crucible etc instead of being limited.
    I love to prepare myself and I do love survival games where that prob comes from.
    One thing I guess is that you should be able to rest at a fireplace to regain health.

    There are always solutions. For example you could get rid of filling up your inventory with dozens of stupid grindy meals by instead taking a relatively new feature from the souls-ish in Elden Ring with the customizable flask of wondrous physick. You could simply replace meals with something like that maybe even keeping some of the limited aspect by having to recharge it to get bonus buffs besides a minor heal which could still be a part of the game since so much of the game is around gathering resources. It would still give you a set number of charges that can be improved with boss kills mechanics like the tonics for increasing inventory size and it would give a reason to visit the whisper checkpoints to restore charges even if it doesn't respawn enemies it would be a marked improvement over having to constantly craft food to keep your inventory from filling up only causing you to fill up your inventory with meals instead.

    The resources are in surpulus, the equipments to create (the fireplaces) is everywhere, it gets even easier as you buy more recipe, and it is something you can quickly do as you go to or prepare for any endevour, I dont think this is an issue at all.

    honestly the only thing i kind of find annoying in the game is that you can't read a description of what some runes do exactly. you have to guess by reading their names.

    I DO find it slightly annoying that out of the few ingredient inventory slots I have, i need already half of them to craft basic meals i.e. heal items.
    It DOES NOT however disturb me that much. I tried the beast in the War Room about 25 times before beating it and that was not an issue except using 2 repair powders.
    the money i got when I beat it, kickstarted all my investments and challenges, reward tracks, quest lines, etc.
    also. HEAL AURA !!! best rune hands down

      @FervorGaming trust me. Not much focus needed and then you need to hold it to work. It basically heals you and needs a few seconds to pull off mid fight... so very well a tactical choice like an estus flask

    I was thinking just like that guy, "man this is harder then Elden Ring", then I got an item with life on kill and focus on hit.. now I'm like "this is too easy".
    Also there are builds that trivialize ALL content.. like the dagger life stealing tank that DatModz had, or ice mage that freezes and kills all without getting hit almost..
    This game aint that hard, relaxed gathering of resources is fun and cozy.. Thumbs UP for devz.

  • @MrPangahas

    well since theres a housing system,why not just add farming.Have a lot for players to plant and harvest food items.

  • @ArminJohansson
    @ArminJohansson Месяц назад

    The food system isn't harder than flask, it's just inconsistent and annoying. The issue is that craftable consumable foods emphasize gathering and preparation while Estus flask emphasize fighting bosses over and over without having to be interrupted. Fighting is more fun than gathering : gathering has a place but not interrupting my boss fights.
    Farthermore the reason you heal with estus in dark souls is to balance the player's resources when facing the challenges in the game. Every time you face the boss you have the same amount of healing resources. In no rest for the wicked you can stack 30 foods for a fight, making it too easy, but can also go into a fight with 0 food making it too hard. But realistically except for the first boss, you will have 30 foods. They try to balance the healing by having it on a cooldown, but it's still very powerful to just buying 50 foods before you fight.
    The food system is an unnecessary pain point. It doesn't ruin the game, or make it hard T.B.H it kinda makes it easier. Its just makes it worse.
    On a side note, I agree that the "cooking buy the campfire before a facing a monster" is a cool feeling but it's not worth it.

    • @FervorGaming
      @FervorGaming  Месяц назад

      Well that's not exactly true at all I'm not sure how far you are into the game but if you play the end game you'll know why 30 food isn't necessarily a lot.
      As I showed you in the footage I had a lot of hills and that was the second time I fought the boss it took me two pulls and I had well over 30 Hrals by the time I was done fighting the first boss
      I think the problem with your comment is exactly what I tried to point out in this video your perspective is going in with a Dark Souls game if you are so interested in using and using a flask to give you free heels then go play those games that enable that but this game isn't a traditional Souls like game it has mechanics that are designed for you to prep and explore the world while doing it is nothing like any other Souls like you've ever played so you may see it as "taking you out of the combat" but the reality is you're just playing the way the game is designed not to be a exact copy of Dark Souls

  • @ChupiSama
    @ChupiSama Месяц назад +1

    Yeah thats the real problem casual players disgusting because a soulslike game isnt casual friendly.

  • @demonfandango
    @demonfandango Месяц назад +2

    People have genuine concerns and questions/problems but I think one of the biggest issues with this game is the perception it's a "Souls-like". It's more like a Survival Crafting game that's taken away the need to eat, drink or whatever and replaced that with Souls-leaning combat.
    Folks want a "Souls-like" game but this is NOT a Souls-like, in my opinion.
