I'm not too concerned about subs/views. Being able to trap and hunt while also filming has been a dream of mine for a long time. I appreciate your support! Take care.
Great video with some great stuff. Been watching your video for a while now I'm in UK northwest , we don't have to many fur to catch only rabbits, squirrel and fox good to watch you as you show all that you are doing including setting Cheers keep up the good work.

Hope you have better luck with the squrels then you did with the beaver lol. you were just a weel or two late with the beavers, you will get them , we are sure. grate videos, we love the woods, and doing it write. good luck, stay safe.
It's great seeing snow in the video as snow is falling outside (yay spring in Michigan!). I hope in the past year that things have gotten better and that God Blesses you and your efforts!
Here’s a tip trick for starting a stubborn quad. Take a 1 lb. propane bottle and a torch with you. When starting the quad and it is reluctant to fire, take the bottle with torch and spray some raw propane into the intake. The machine should now be easier to start.
Where are you based? It's nice to finally see a youtube video with a snowy november, too often my gardening videos have tips like "if it's too hot then put your garlic in the fridge before growing it" & I kind of need the opposite. You seem great. I love your genuine approach to speaking. You speak with an understanding not a script.
Having watched all of the videos for this channel and being a Subscriber to your other channel I have to ask when the next episode is coming? Loving the content, just wish it were more frequent!
Hello I love the trapping posts. I watch Norm on his trapping show and he is great!!! Tells you everything we need to know. Just found you looks great. I hope you can tell everyone about your trapping life. Thank you Dan PS you need a engine heater and cover it with blankets.
Hey just found your channel and thought the cabin looked super familiar been there numerous times and occasionally still pass by the cabin and stop in to cook a smokie would love to hopefully pass through when you are around. Cheers
Sure is a sweet set up you have there. Being retired I would probably live there most of time though it probably would cause me a divorce. Good luck in the up coming seasons and hunts I'll be watching
@@KuskWild I've got two already, got my dog her first ever this year. Love to see a video of a grouse catch and clean. Have a great day and keep up the good work!
@@alansherwood5319 There are lots of great dogs for grouse. Right now I have a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, there not upland dogs, but I trained her to be a upland and wetland dog. Springer Spaniel and German Shorthaired Pointer are great for grouse and upland hunting.
Set some bottom edge sets for mink, it works better than any land set for them plus you'll get bonus muskrats. Beaver are the easiest animal to catch along with muskrats as long as you don't get stupid and educate them with overuse of castor and bad trap placement. Blind set them, especially under the ice in their trails. Good luck with your trapline!
The camera is a Sony CX-405. The trigger is set at the bottom so that when a beaver is trapped the trigger and/or dog hit the beaver on the underside. Less likely to damage the fur on top of the beaver which is what fur buyers value most. Thanks for watching!
Yea I was supposed to get this channel running last season but it wasn't in the cards. Glad I'm able to film this season though. Thanks for watching. Take care!
Great video - your quality of vids is top notch, as always. Can't wait for the marten line to be up - question...when you set the marten boxes will the traps be big enough to take down a fisher? Also, I can't remember but do you have any coyotes up in your area? That must have been tough to pass on that small buck! I mean, meat is meat LOL It's gonna be a great season for you
We've successfully harvested fisher in the 110 traps we use for marten. We also set bigger traps for fisher too. We do have a few coyotes up here. Not a huge population due to the wolves but enough to make it worthwhile in setting coyote snares. As the season progresses I'll be more inclined to shoot a small buck like the one in this video. We have seen larger deer out here though so I'm trying to be patient. Thanks for watching!
The trapping content wasn't appreciated by many on my other channel so I decided to separate the two. Glad to be back filming the trapping series. Thanks for the support! Take care.
That's the ingenuity of the trappers before me. Just the bottom of a coffee can with holes punched in the base and a squirrel wire grid for the bread to toast on. Thanks for watching!

I'm very glad as well! Thanks for watching.

Very nice keep it up and stay safe I just started watching your video I will be looking forward to watching again stay safe
You deserve more than 3.3k subs.
Keep at it. Your vids are getting better and there is a demand for your content.
Cheers!

Of course it will start, its a Honda, I have one just like it with 9400 miles on it, when nothing else starts it does. Glad the season is back.
Love your videos
Great video! Best of luck for the rest of the season!
Good to see you back Riley. Good luck this fall and winter
Happy to see you on the trap line again. I trapped for 15 years and I love being able to watch it from the comfort of my home some times. Hahaha

Thank you for the trapping content
Hope you have a successful trapping and hunting season Ryley. Would love to watch you process your catch just like your old trapping videos before.
Thank you. I'll be showing more skinning and fur handling now that the trapping content has it's own channel. Take care!
Nice cabin

Yup, I hunt grouse. Hoping to get a few this season to cook up at the cabin.

What kind of camera set up do you have?
Hey my brother....a couple questions lol. What model of GoPro you have and second do you always set you 330 triggers on the bottom?
It’s very common to set beaver traps with the trigger on the bottom, but when setting lynx cubbies/traps the trigger is at the top
The camera is a Sony CX-405.
The trigger is set at the bottom so that when a beaver is trapped the trigger and/or dog hit the beaver on the underside. Less likely to damage the fur on top of the beaver which is what fur buyers value most. Thanks for watching!
Also if the trigger is on the bottom it is often under the water and a little more “camouflaged”
😎👍👍
DEER HUNTING!!!
ITS ALL ABOUT THE WIND DIRECTION NEVER FORGET
Just found your videos. I really enjoying them , wondering if some spotlights or light bar would be useful for the darker days.
Awesome video Kusk! Just make sure the beavers aren’t actually trapping you.

Could you recommend a book on how to set a trapline?
I'm really interested in your bridge. What are the dimensions? Does it hold a quad or sled? Did you build it or purchase?

You guys can hunt beavers? Nice, in Poland it's prohibited.
Have the beavers stated a dam? or is the creak deep enough they won't bother?
They have it dammed up in a few places.
Do the Beaver's see the traps?
Can you bait deer were your from? In New Brunswick we can i have a couple stands i bait .
What year
What happened to your Kodiak atv
I was just borrowing that one.
What's up
Are those shoes you wear " Nick Boots " ? They look decent anyway to me.
You know, if you made a shed for 4 wheeler and covered it it would start up better.
Do you have a another channel? I feel like I know you from a different one lol
Kusk Bushcraft is my other channel.
What kind of bird was that?
Canadian Jay.
Was the bird Grey Jay?
Yup they are Grey Jays.. also known as Canadian Jays or Whiskey Jacks.
Whiskey Jack's here on the BC Coast
