  • Another cracking display of noctilucent clouds last night, maybe not as widespread as Tuesday night (which I missed due to cloud cover), but still very bright with some intricate structures. It started very early with a patch of cloud extending overhead around an hour after sunset, but this soon faded with the twilight, by which time there were just a few wisps on the northern horizon. It clouded over for a while after that but as this cleared the noctilucent cloud returned, feeding in from the northeast to cover most of the northern horizon to around 30 degrees, before the twilight returned.
The first section was taken between 2218 and 2245 UTC, with the rest between 0005 and 0140 UTC. 28th/29th June 2044, Chapel of Garioch, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
