Invest 97L forecast: Tropical disturbance to become better organized over Gulf of Mexico

- The National Hurricane Center (NHC) said a tropical disturbance over Hispaniola, known as Invest 97L, is highly likely to develop further over the next seven days and possibly become a tropical depression as early as this weekend. It's still too early to tell exactly where this tropical wave will end up, whether it will become Tropical Storm Debby, and whether it will stay in the Gulf of Mexico or if it will make landfall over Florida - and where.

I don't know this guy, I don't even live in Florida (I'm in TX), but this guy's personality and relatability is one of the best I've seen in all my years of existence. Fox hiring him was definitely a good hire in my eyes as an entrepreneur.

I got 4 cases of water in my garage that I bought earlier this summer. Last time we were caught off guard, everyone freaked and ransacked the super markets. Good to have a back up supply during season

North Florida had a tropical storm Debby a few years back that left us flooded for months because it stalled.

It’s not even a formed a system. What do you expect. Problem here is the impact could become serious given how short a time window we have. At least he’s alerting people

Me, too! The track has it come ashore at Grand Isle which is where Betsy landed in September 1965 as a Cat 4 🐈🐈🐈🐈 and flooded out half of New Orleans which is where I'm at!

Ok. I'M IN the southern side of metro Atlanta. Just a thought on this young meteorologist , at least on this particular broadcast , I like how he very candidly makes it clear that he is not entirely sure on a lot of the actual details of this storm. It seems that a good bit of the meteorologist in my area nails down something as fact, and then it doesn't occur.
This can really mess up ones outdoor plans. Point being when your not absolutely certain, then say so.

So the red is where a tropical storm could develop? Im used to predictions showing where a hurricane would form. I knkw this is dangerous becaus of floodijg, but the way this "disturbance" is being tracked is a little strange compared to the past
since there is no center of circulation they can’t track where it’ll go just yet. that red area is anywhere where the storm could develop meaning it can develop on the far east or far west of that red zone but we need to wait until a cone is released (when the storm becomes organized) to get more info

Good thing is if the spaghetti models are going over your house then you probably ok. Accuracy that far out is non existent. Also this was forecasted to not even be a storm. Unfortunately all the data is a sham. No one can predict the weather

If Florida got any last hurricane season it didn’t help those living here. We have to pay almost 40.00 extra a month on our electric bill to pay for the electric companies pole and wire replacement. I call BS! Thanks Idalia! There was no help for anyone with damage and I still can’t get into my drive ways because of downed trees. 🤦♀️ So Florida declaring an emergency doesn’t help anything other than bring in extra linemen which we are thankful for because the heat really sucks and so do the mosquitoes lol

I live in Costa Rica, on a mountain at 7500 feet of elevation, and we are currently in the rainy season. 3-4 days a week the wind blows 30-50 mph and the rains are measured in gallons. We just go about our business. Plus they build houses much better here than in Florida. Odd.

I think it's so forecasters and meteorologists 'Invest' more attention into following the storm.
Starts at Invest, then it's Tropical Depression, Tropical Storm, then Hurricane.

I remember when they thought Ian was going to be a tropical storm. We finally just found a construction company to repair our ceiling and light fixtures after it ripped the roof off my dining room and dumped a foot of water.
I'm not taking any chances with a system going over the hottest water system in America and you shouldn't either.
Well it is a rain storm now but doesn't mean it will stay that way. When water in gulf is that hot and a formed storm hits they can intensity very quickly. I did not find him being dramatic he just seems to be excited talking about weather
