@@nikigunn that's fair! I think I prefer the rounded edge on the brushes more than the width. if they had narrow brushes with the rounded tip I would be okay with that too, I just like the rounded because it makes it nice and easy to get right to the cuticle area
Can't wait for you to swatch Orly Summer 2021 because I think Orly did a great job on their collection. I also think Color Club's Jersey Girl did a good job with brights as well.
And it actually sold me on buying the collection - I desperately want some neons to do nail art with, and I can find these on sale, and the other collections are sold out. I can't wait until June! 😅

I feel like I have a similar experience when I am using cirque colors neon shades, on the 2nd coat when it dries it somehow looks a little less full coverage. I think it’s worse for me because I have relatively long nails, but short nail beds, so they really show the free edge and can look less opaque

I love how detailed your reviews are. And really appreciate how you give us your honest opinion. The colors are awesome, but it’s nice to know what to expect with coverage before buying them.
I totally feel you on the motion sickness issue. I went to Ireland in 2019 and was SUPER worried about being on a plane for 11 hours from Austin to London because I get so sick on planes. I took dimenhydrinate and wore Sea Bands on my wrists. I was shocked at the great results I got. Not a single moment of even slight queasiness, even during extreme turbulence. It also worked on the big tour buses we rode from one end of the country to the other. This will have down be my go to combo in the future!
I'm really interested to see comparisons between Banks and ORLY's new Synthetic Symphony because from swatches and bottle shots they look very similar!
I opted for the pre-order bundle for this collection. They're decent, but I was a bit underwhelmed as I started to really use them. I think I'm gonna try them over a white base coat to see if I can get them to pop a bit more.
I definitely feel these are a step up from their Ultra Brites collection, but I am second guessing getting them. I so appreciate the honesty of your reviews!
I've been looking for a neon cyan blue color forever!!! and it seems this season everyone is coming out with it.... HOLO TACO, CHINA GLAZE and now ZOYA!!! I'm in heaven!!!
I got these last week. I have tried the green and the hot pink. I didn’t realize they were going to be so satin. And I too needed three coats for full coverage and still felt like I could see the nail line. I have no issues though with the polish, the colors are great!!!! It’s good to know I’m not alone 😆
I’m still excited for this collection because they are gorgeous! I LITERALLY just ordered this collection from hbbeautybar then I see your notification that you are reviewing LOL so thank you as always! ❤️
I was thinking of getting some, but I trust your judgement so I'll be getting the ones you loved from other collections. Thank you for your honest reviews!!!
*Kelli, you should try Nailtopia! It’s sold at Ulta, comes in a TON of shades, ALL-FREE, 85% biosourced, and most importantly the formula is AMAZING!!!!*
These are pretty but I am glad that I held out. I am going to pick up a couple of the Morgan Taylor’s and can’t wait to see the Orly summer collection, they killed it last year with the neons. 💚💛🧡 Thanks for the video!
I bought collection and I didn’t love the dry down on these polishes. I would not recommend but I did like the lighter pink shade best. Love all your uploads - big fan!
The two I have tried so far were patchy in three coats. I wouldn’t mind the visible nail line if the rest of the nail was even. I am glad I didn’t pay full price for them.
Kelli oh Kelli, how I LOVE your reviews. I was waiting & hoping you were going to be reviewing these and as always you DO NOT disappoint! This review was truly helpful and you confirmed what I already suspected about this collection. They are very pretty but not for me for the same reasons you mentioned. Thanks again as always for your awesome reviews
I was super disappointed with this collection when it arrive at my house. I was happy to hear you say that a lot of them weren’t opaque and showed the nail line, because my experience with it was the same. Three coat polishes are frustrating for me, as I own other neons that are two coaters. I think Zoya missed the mark with neons again. 😕
Maybe it's my old eyes, but I think that all of these looked fine in two coats. I wonder if throwing a glossy topcoat on would even them out? I find that if my polish is still a little less-than-totally-solid opacity upon dry down, a nice, thick glossy topcoat does the trick. I LOVE this collection and just might get it despite the fact that I just got Orly's summer collection and it's not neon per se, but it's BRIGHT! And VIBRANT! I'm loving the summer collections this year! Looking forward to Kelli reviews of the Orly and of the new Holo Taco (which I should have in my hot little hands tomorrow!).
I'm wearing all of these colors (except Zelda) at the moment. I have long nails & am happily wearing them in two coats. I feel like the formula of these are like the base of a crelly. They are more opaque than a jelly but definitely not a straight creme. After a couple of days of wear I did add some HT Unicorn skins on top and OMG are they are gorgeous combo.
Thanks for the info!! 🧡💜💙💚 I received the Zoya newsletter that the base price was going up, but I didn't recall how much. Ok so they're now $11 instead of $10, but they come with the wide flat brush (but cheaper on HB Beauty Bar). Ok cool. I have long nails so this is probably a no go for me. I also agree with your comments that if something is named "easy" but it takes 3 coats to get full opacity, then that's not really that quick or easy. But there's always room for improvement.
It's not just you, Kelli. I'm wearing Zelda in 2 coats right now, but I keep thinking I should've added a 3rd. It might be my application too. It was drying fairly quickly. So I'm torn with this color because indoors I feel it's not so neon. It's bright for sure but not neon bright. However, in the sun, it looks neon and super pretty. What I am disappointed about is that I have a huge chip on my middle finger. I haven't had such a big chip in ages. I wonder if it's because I used Zoya's Ultra Glossy top coat that came with my order. I normally use SuperChic Lacquer Marvel Liquid Macro. Shows me I shouldn't stray from what works.
The last time I was able to enjoy a fair ride was when I was 13, I went o this spinning alien spaceship about 50 million times... The following year when I was 14 is when I got motion sickness to everything, and thus was unable to go on rides again! I feel you!
Thanks for the review! Last time went on a Fair Ride I prepared by taking motion sickness pills and wearing pressure point wrist bands for motion sickness lol
THANKS for the super honest review, as usual. I wonder if quickly applying a quick-dry topcoat while the second coat of polish is still wet might help retain the opacity a bit. I'm into some of these - I'll get the orange and coral ones for sure.
Orly & Cirque are my go-to for neon polishes. They both have awesome neon formulas! I'm shocked at how these performed because usually Zoya are pretty perfect. I am a 2 coat gal though, so I'm pretty picky! 😂 When you were applying the Purple shade it instantly reminded my of a collection of jellies that China Glaze did, years ago in 2012, before I knew what jellies were & how to work with them. (I was 5 coats in before realising they would never get opaque lol) I still have the shade 'Creative fantasy' & it literally takes 4-5 coats but I love it so much 😂 I remember using it mostly for 'jelly sandwiches'.. Ahhh good times 😂 👵 I'll be skipping these, mostly because I'm waiting to see the latest Cirque & Orly collections - I've heard good things! Tysm for the awesome swatches Kelli! 💕 👏
I’ve seen these on longer nails and there is definitely visible nail lines. 3 coats is not right. It’s disappointing. I’m more excited about China Glaze’s summer collection! 😊
I got Zelda and Link and can tell you right now, a white base made a huge difference with them. Tried both ways. I was a little bummed honestly with Link. It's NOT a neon. There's no reaction to my uv flashlight, and I had a feeling, it doesn't have that burn to your eyes neons should. My other green neons do, with better coverage! It's pretty but so far what I've got from Zoya is just, eh??
I alllmost got this collection. Don’t hate me.. I’m not a huge neon polish lover, but I am just getting into them, (: Swatches coming soon for the Orly summer collection! That collection I am excited to swatch/have!💚💙💜💗💖🧡 Always beautiful swatches from you, Kelli! Hugsss!🤗💜
I pre-ordered this collection for $49 and have worn Link for five days. It's just started flaking off yesterday with big chunks (although manicures usually die after 3-5 days for me). It was three coats for me with short nails, but I may try two coats next time and use fewer strokes. Heads up, it seems to have stained my nails even with base coat. I didn't realize it came with the wide brush though and am super bummed about that. I have tiny nail beds, and the wide brush just doesn't work for me. I hope they will start selling the skinny brushes separately if they decide to switch to the wide ones as the default. This neon formula is so much better than Zoya's older ones though, and the colors are beautiful so all in all I'm happy (just lamenting all the extra clean up these brushes necessitate for me lol). I definitely want to try the Cirque neons next though. Also, on a random note, I LOVE your eye makeup today Kelli! Your blending skills are goals!
SO glad I went with the ORLY neons instead! I actually thought I ordered these when they did the $50 preorder but forgot to hit submit after I put in my bank details 🙈.... ORLY was so much cheaper with the color pass, colors are much more interesting and WAY better formulas.
Just now reading the title of this video and realising Kelli says ''swatch AND review'' instead of ''swatchER review'' 🤦🏻♀️ I've been mishearing this for over a year lol
I really want to like these colours, but I can see the disappointment in needing 3 coats for a purple or green. Love the shade of Link though A nail hack you tested a long while ago was putting thinner polish in the fridge a bit before use. I wonder if that might help them out. Guess I'm a bit of a nail newb, as I had not heard of doing a white base before rolling into a Neon...may have to try that with the few neons I've got
I get motion sick super easily too! I get nauseous just watching the tea cup rides. Lol. Fortunately, my husband loves them so if my kids want to go on them he can take them. 😄
Well hello there Janie👀 I really like Link and Banks as well but it's a little unfortunate that they need quite a few layers, I'm used to it though so who knows I might not care🤣 I really don't have enough neon polishes and I wanna change thaaaat I was pretty sick as a child so the rides I could go on were extremely limited, but luckily one of the only things I could ride back then is still my favorite! The seats spin around very quickly as well as the wavy platform they're on, and even though I could get pretty dizzy that ride never hurt me or gave me nosebleeds! I wasn't allowed to go on rides that would go high up, but I really enjoy calm ferris wheels now that I'm healthy uwu
I can’t keep up with all of these collections. 😂 I love your videos and your swatching technique . I know you showed your technique, but for some reason I always color some of my skin or drown the cuticles 😭😭😭. Help!
I always paint mine how we’re not taught...I start in the middle and then go to the edges. I’ve been doing it this way for 25+ years and it works for me. I let the polish flow off my brush, too. I don’t know how to explain that really...like I go slow and let the polish come vs quicker with my strokes if that makes sense. Hope that helps!
I really wish I would've waited to see your review before buying this collection. I was so excited when Zoya announced that I wouldn't need to wear a white base and LOVE the fact that they are 10 free. I'm really disappointed by the formula and no, your eyes aren't deceiving you. I have short nails and definitely needed three coats with all the colors. The worst part - I still see a visible nail nail (which drives me INSANE). If I had a do over, I wouldn't have bought this collection. I just placed an order for Cirque Color's High Society and hoping that their formula will be MUCH better.
I mean... at least they improved it over their last attempt at neons, but I'm still not going for it when I have the Orly and Cirque collections. I may get the lime one because my eyes liked the colour and if I like the colour enough, I'll do the three coats.
Ohhh pretty colors, when they don't cover well it is very disappointing. I just scored Orly electric escape summer 2021 set. I haven't used them but mymy they are pretty in the package.
Zelda looks pretty but I don’t think I’ll purchase it after your review. I’m excited to see what you think of the orly summer 2021 collection. I just got it with my subscription and couldn’t wait to get it on my nails!
I think the Zoya neon colors are pretty, but I honestly probably have the same or similar shades already, as I love neons. Me, too, about fair rides. Motion sickness sucks!
Oh Maculay Culkin! Haha. Funny enough I've never watched any of his movies except parts of Home Alone. I don't remember commenting but I know people are unnecessarily cruel to people who grew up in the spotlight as child actors.
i had really high hopes for this collection lol. i don’t know why they would’ve advertised this as an easy neon collection that doesn’t require a white base, but having them end up as three coaters anyway. id rather use one of my favorite china glaze neon polishes over one coat of color club french tip, which takes 2-3 coats all together (one coat of french tip and 1-2 of the neon on top) and save some money. they are pretty though, and i love your swatches as always kelli :)

I got these this past week in the mail. I am not impressed. I love the colors in the bottles but I'm not thrilled with needing at least 3 coats. I have short nails at the moment and even after 3 coats, I can still see my nail line. I wish I would have waited until I saw your review.

I just received echo..i will keep an open mind. I feel like china glaze is the best in neons but I love all other zoya polishes.
Well hello there Janie👀 I really like Link and Banks as well but it's a little unfortunate that they need quite a few layers, I'm used to it though so who knows I might not care🤣 I really don't have enough neon polishes and I wanna change thaaaat
I was pretty sick as a child so the rides I could go on were extremely limited, but luckily one of the only things I could ride back then is still my favorite!
Help!
Yyp all the damm time
I always paint mine how we’re not taught...I start in the middle and then go to the edges.
Waiting for you to review the new Cirque Polishes!!!
I think these no-white-base-coat neon polishes would look great with a white base coat
LOL
Ohhh pretty colors, when they don't cover well it is very disappointing. I just scored Orly electric escape summer 2021 set. I haven't used them but mymy they are pretty in the package.
Never been this early before! Love your videos Kelli
Oh thank you so much 💙💙💙
A gradient with these would be awesome 😍
Very pretty colors! I know no one will be scrutinizing my nails but I WILL haha and it drives me crazy!!
Do you ever review lights lacquer or ella and mila??
Zelda looks pretty but I don’t think I’ll purchase it after your review. I’m excited to see what you think of the orly summer 2021 collection. I just got it with my subscription and couldn’t wait to get it on my nails!
Echo is stunning!!! I would definitely wear these in 2 coats, except for Banks and Link. I don't mind if my polish is 100% opaque in every light.
That's a good point, I don't usually have my nails under a bunch of lamps hahah
In my opinion the best neon formula is the one from Colour Club; 2 coats gives full opacity.
These would be great under some really sheer holo heavy linears. Or under Zeus Sword by Born Pretty 😍😃😍
Love the purple Hair!
Wonder what happened to a yellow tanks for ur video always love them
I think the Zoya neon colors are pretty, but I honestly probably have the same or similar shades already, as I love neons. Me, too, about fair rides. Motion sickness sucks!
Hi Mac loving Kelli.
Party Monster was his best role imo. Wow performance!
Haha I'm not sure what you're talking about here!
@@KelliMarissa saw u commenting and defending Mac on an old Mac interview on David Letterman.
Oh Maculay Culkin! Haha. Funny enough I've never watched any of his movies except parts of Home Alone. I don't remember commenting but I know people are unnecessarily cruel to people who grew up in the spotlight as child actors.
@@KelliMarissa omg u must see Party Monster. MA 18+ freaky stuff.
And aren't u cute lol
i had really high hopes for this collection lol. i don’t know why they would’ve advertised this as an easy neon collection that doesn’t require a white base, but having them end up as three coaters anyway. id rather use one of my favorite china glaze neon polishes over one coat of color club french tip, which takes 2-3 coats all together (one coat of french tip and 1-2 of the neon on top) and save some money. they are pretty though, and i love your swatches as always kelli :)
Patrica Field’s made a great vibrant neon green,. ( 1980’s )
Stage light made a great taxi cab cream yellow. ( 1980’s )
I found a gorgeous turquoise cream blue. at Urban Outfitters. ( 2015 )
> I’m a nail color aficionado.
Once I’ve had the best, I can’t settle..
That’s just me,
> I’m with you about the fairs, I love the food & the atmosphere. And yes - bumper cars !! 🍕🍢🥤
> Thanks for reviewing the new line of neons. I’m still looking for better color experience.
Beautiful colors !
Love Zoya nail polishes 💕 great review
I got these this past week in the mail. I am not impressed. I love the colors in the bottles but I'm not thrilled with needing at least 3 coats. I have short nails at the moment and even after 3 coats, I can still see my nail line. I wish I would have waited until I saw your review.
Shortest nails, not the best cameras for some special effect polish BUT STILL MY FAVOURITE SWATCHER. love your professional and soothing voice 💜💜
