Same for me. I went for the coffret with the two lightest shades and rouge Byzantin and I am in love. But I agree with everyone about the price point, especially for the refills. That said, I don’t regret my purchase because I really love the art deco esthetics and it is a pleasure to use this beautiful object ❤

It's great that Chanel removed the talc from Les Beiges powder and started using synthetic mica (which is a much more expensive ingredient but doesn't present health risks unlike talc) ❤
I was one that purchase a single lipstick. Is a breathtaking piece in color Roman. I so understand every one. Saying is a lipstick the price is ridiculous. For one i can’t afford now the handbags. Also the times we living here in the USA specially in NYC. Is really crazy out here. Also for my first time I have a 9 months granddaughter. So I will leave these classic pieces. And also I think if you spend $80.00 dollars on eyeshadows, blush, or foundation or skin care. It could toll more than a lipstick I know I have purchase a eye cream , lipstick and eye shadow and it has total 200.00. So why not buy a ones in my life time beautiful piece. There were only two products I would consider purchasing in the line up, the compact foundation and the powder compact, which I will be looking for soon. I wear the Sublimage concealer and hope to never be without it. I also wear the Sublimage cream foundation, with a perfect skin tone match BR32. So the compact foundation is not to be as the range stops short. The other products are so extravagant and PRICY for me to even consider. I don't mind spending money on products which help me look as natural and well kept at my age. There is a limit to how much any product can help a 65 year completion. Spending more money does not compute to miracles. I truly love your honesty and tasteful esthetic.
I appreciated your honesty when reviewing these new products. I did virtually try and like a few 31 Le Rouge colors but they’re a bit out of my budget and will stick with my favorite Rouge Allure, À Demi-Mot. 🖤

Hi Alli, I’m always in your camp - not a highlighter fan. The 31 Les Rouges lipsticks are not priced reasonably. I don’t even love the shades as they are all very red leaning. There are so many other, beautiful and more affordable options within the brand and I’m not a collector, just an enthusiast. But agree, if someone wants it, great - hope you enjoy. Also like you, I’m wearing very little foundation currently. I focus more on concealer and a good SPF and use eye makeup and blush to ‘pop’ my features. Finally, I agree with the person who wished Chanel would put the Sublimage eye concealers in a bottle vs messy pot that can be hard to use. I feel as if the luxury beauty market is slow to respond to consumer preferences. 🖤
Like many have said this new Chanel glass lipstick is mostly for collectors of Chanel. DIOR’s new lipstick the rouge premier is priced at £555 (£500 for the case and £55 for the lipstick) That is close to US$700 per lipstick. That is for collectors too. And compared to that Chanel sounds a bargain.

The new CC cream has mineral SPF and no denatured alcohol. I have been using all summer on my dry skin that hates chemical SPF and I’m loving it. 👍💕🇨🇦 🖤
The one thing that interests me is the new lipliners, so happy to hear they are launching more pinks. 💖🖤💖🖤 I'm not surprised they have removed the sharpener from those, and I suspect it is for monetary reasons (bet the price will still be the same though, if not more!). However, from a sustainability perspective I actually agree with removing them, as over the last 35 years or so that I've been buying makeup I must have had 100s of them from every Chanel and Dior lipliner and eyeliner I've ever bought, and it bothers me that they just end up in landfill. I like the way Victoria Beckham sells her eyeliners and lipliners with an optional sharpener, so if I do need one I can pay £2 extra for one and, if not, I can skip it. 😊
I think it’s a great idea to have the option to add a sharpener to the cart or skip. We definitely don’t need a new sharpener each time and I too am happy to see more pinks!

Btw I heard back from Chanel about the sharpeners, error on their part on their website saying it comes with one, they offered to send me one though which was great customer service. Allison, I always appreciate your reviews! I’ve never been a highlighter fan, so I will be skipping the Sublimage highlighter; however, I do enjoy the Sublimage concealer. I wish it came in a better container for travel. The lipsticks are also a pass since they look like they are all a shade of red and the price is crazy expensive! U will not regret the Sublimage concealer. I can see a MAJOR difference when I use it. I dot it in different places on my face and it spreads so far. I’m 46, & I swear it takes a good 6 years or more off of the looks of my skin. The hype is really real.

Your review of the parfum eau fraiche is bang on. I still have the original one from years ago and it now smells like dish detergent lol. Also, I like the previous version of the CC cream but it seriously stays on and difficult to remove like foundation.

Thank you for the review. Passing on the lipsticks but always looking for a good lip liner.. I use Chanel’s clear lip liner a lot of the time with paler lipstick and I don’t want a color but still want to keep a crisp line. Victoria Beckham has a box that can be checked if you want to add a sharpener when purchasing a lip/eyeliner pencil. Of course, there is a charge but it helps on cutting back on extras a person doesn’t need. Have a great day
What happened to the oversized highlighters w/3 different shades & u could pick your design? I like how VBB does her sharpeners. When u order an eyeliner or lipliner, u have the option to check the box if u want a sharpener for an extra $2. It’s very high quality too. I’m interested in seeing the Gucci liquid highlighter next to the new Chanel Sublimage liquid highlighter, bc on the screen they look like the exact same color and I already own the Gucci one. I know 195 is a lot for lipstick but I purchased shade1. The lightest…It is beautiful and my lips after a couple of days feel very Hydrated and plump. I think it was worth the splurge. I would rather have quality makeup in small amount then a drawer full of lips. I am a less is more person.

This upcoming new Chanel lipsticks, in my country, the price is even more expensive than me getting an Apple Pencil 2nd gen. If I were to splurge that money to buy just one lipstick, I would rather buy Apple Pencil.
Interesting range of products ... rarely use highlighter here too but the Sublimage concealer and foundation are so good ..I definitely want a sample. The powder foundation maybe but I've ust hit pan on the Cle de Peau compact and it keep surprising me how much I love it and how quick and easy it is. the lipsticks? hmmm, I find the coffret set with leather cover and wooden box oddly tempting as a celebrate a raise or birthday type purchase -- the lipsticks look quite lovely in demos I've seen but still, so much money when I am swimming in lipsticks. Love as always your Will I Buy Its!
I enjoyed the tape as always. Loved the skippity do dah. I mean they look nice but it is just lipstick. I get bored with lipstick and I have mittfuls but cannot justify that much for something I may wear here and there. What if the lipstick drops out of my bag and shatters? There goes the money. It has happened the falling out of my pouch or purse. V. Beckham sells her eye pencils with or without a sharpener and it is a 2.00 option. I agree I do not need more sharpeners. The liquid highlighter looks good everything else not as exciting. I still have enough cc cream and powder enough to sink a ship. We are all waiting for holiday release right? Thanks for this.❤❤

I don’t plan on buying the new lipstick. But, in my opinion, if you have the money and it will give you joy then go for it. Personally I don’t see makeup as collectibles. I want to use what I buy and enjoy it and not fear losing it or breaking the case. The Sublimage highlighter is very pretty but I rarely reach for highlighter. My go to is the Chanel Les Beiges Pearly Glow. The fragrance is a pass for me. I’m not into fresh fragrances. Yes. I would be interested in a review of the new compact foundation.❤❤❤❤❤
Hahaha I couldn’t help myself I ordered a 31 lipstick and the very next day I went in and bought more with the coffret 😁 A lot of people are saying that they look so much more luxurious in person and while certainly beautiful I don’t think that they do honestly and I think that they cheaped out on the display tray thingy in the box as that is just a hard cardboard and it’s not even felted. I don’t regret it but I also think you can live without it
I think that the 31 lipsticks are for the collectors, those who want to be extra, and those who don’t need to think about the price. I also believe Chanel knows they will not be selling a lot of these but the buzz surrounding the 31 collection is good publicity. I’m not buying these lipsticks but we certainly are talking about them with raised eyebrows.🤨 Perhaps many people will go to the boutique to have a look at them and then purchase something else. Mission accomplished.
As beautiful as the glass lipsticks are, I could never buy one without swatching the colours in person. Just would make me ill if I ended up not liking the colour from a blind buy. Even so, I might not buy just because of the price! I think Guerlain's lipstick cases are more beautiful and less expensive. I am interested in this years's special bee case for the Holidays.
I am curious about the one neutral pricey Chanel lipstick. It looked great on one you tube lady. Another you tube lady said she had hoped there would be pink lipsticks in this collection but they appear to be mostly reds, which is what Chanel does all the time.
I went on the Bay site and take a look at the pricing of the Sublimage makeup products, I think you've been very conservative on the price tag, considering the 140$ for the eye corrector, 218$ for the essence de teint and 204$ for the crème ultime, I think 175-180$ would be more accurate. Don't get me wrong I have many of Chanel products and will continue to buy but I think their prices have gone up a lot lately. Same for the cushion foundation 86$ for 9g, that would be 286$ before taxes for a 30ml when the actual 30ml 77$.... yikes....🖤

I had a credit on PayPal, from a recall refund from Fit Bit(that’s another story) , so I splurged and ordered the lipstick. I get it delivered tomorrow. It’s a silly splurge but having recently walked up the glass staircase at the Paris flagship Chanel store I had to have it. I hope I’m not disappointed. I will however, NOT be buying the $500 collection with the box. I can’t find enough shades that I’d use to fill the order with refills.
Hello Alison. Just a tiny comment the 31 lipstick case is made out of glass and is pretty heavy on the hand. The price is a shocker but the refills that u can buy separate are in a bit not so crazy prices. I though the colours were not my style. But in reality they have beautiful raspberry and fuchsia colours. The formula is very smooth and lightweight. I promised myself I won’t buy it. But…. I got the coffret gifted with the case and two refills. Something I didn’t see coming 😂😂😂 so I can say am pretty happy with it. Coffret is pretty and minimalistic and the idea is to pass it as a heirloom to your daughter. For the rest al not interested in anything. The sublimage creme I turned the corner when I saw the price tag tbh 🤣🤣🤣
I was saying better spend that money to stock up on your favorite Chanel skincare or makeup essentials, such as foundation/tinted moisturizer/flash lipstick/mascara, whatever, but you’re right!!! You can go see a dermatologist for the price of ONE lipstick like that, let alone two or three:))
The 31 Les Rouges lipsticks are priced for serious Chanel collectors and people who treat a $195 like it's a 19.99 in their pocket. I'm quite happy with the Chanel lipsticks and this wouldn't be lipstick I would buy. Allison, as you said three of these bad boys would pay for a session of Botox. I mean at that price those lipsticks have been blessed by the Pope and infused with drops of water from the fountain of youth. I love the lipstick colour you are wearing. I think if one uses that single one lipstick case for at least 15 years, daily, then why not. I believe it is actually glass, so that is a huge difference. When I think of luxury beauty, I think: not plastic. Oh, but I won't buy it, it is out of my budget and priorities. Not to mention I don't even need it as I've been buying makeup for a good 8 years now...

Btw I heard back from Chanel about the sharpeners, error on their part on their website saying it comes with one, they offered to send me one though which was great customer service. I personally like the sharpeners coming with it as back in the day i got them from Dior and it adds to the luxury experience imo!

Allison, I always appreciate your reviews! I’ve never been a highlighter fan, so I will be skipping the Sublimage highlighter; however, I do enjoy the Sublimage concealer. I wish it came in a better container for travel. The lipsticks are also a pass since they look like they are all a shade of red and the price is crazy expensive! I think here in Canada we have similar strict laws when it comes to sunscreens.

U will not regret the Sublimage concealer. I can see a MAJOR difference when I use it. I dot it in different places on my face and it spreads so far. I’m 46, & I swear it takes a good 6 years or more off of the looks of my skin. The hype is really real.

Your review of the parfum eau fraiche is bang on. I still have the original one from years ago and it now smells like dish detergent lol. Also, I like the previous version of the CC cream but it seriously stays on and difficult to remove like foundation.

Thank you for the review. Passing on the lipsticks but always looking for a good lip liner.. I use Chanel’s clear lip liner a lot of the time with paler lipstick and I don’t want a color but still want to keep a crisp line. Victoria Beckham has a box that can be checked if you want to add a sharpener when purchasing a lip/eyeliner pencil. Of course, there is a charge but it helps on cutting back on extras a person doesn’t need. Have a great day

What happened to the oversized highlighters w/3 different shades & u could pick your design? I like how VBB does her sharpeners. When u order an eyeliner or lipliner, u have the option to check the box if u want a sharpener for an extra $2. It’s very high quality too. I’m interested in seeing the Gucci liquid highlighter next to the new Chanel Sublimage liquid highlighter, bc on the screen they look like the exact same color and I already own the Gucci one. I know 195 is a lot for lipstick but I purchased shade1. The lightest…It is beautiful and my lips after a couple of days feel very Hydrated and plump. I think it was worth the splurge. I would rather have quality makeup in small amount then a drawer full of lips. I am a less is more person.

Interesting range of products ... rarely use highlighter here too but the Sublimage concealer and foundation are so good ..I definitely want a sample. The powder foundation maybe but I've ust hit pan on the Cle de Peau compact and it keep surprising me how much I love it and how quick and easy it is. the lipsticks? hmmm, I find the coffret set with leather cover and wooden box oddly tempting as a celebrate a raise or birthday type purchase -- the lipsticks look quite lovely in demos I've seen but still, so much money when I am swimming in lipsticks. I enjoyed the tape as always. Loved the skippity do dah. I mean they look nice but it is just lipstick. I get bored with lipstick and I have mittfuls but cannot justify that much for something I may wear here and there. What if the lipstick drops out of my bag and shatters? There goes the money. It has happened the falling out of my pouch or purse. V. Beckham sells her eye pencils with or without a sharpener and it is a 2.00 option. I agree I do not need more sharpeners. I don’t plan on buying the new lipstick. But, in my opinion, if you have the money and it will give you joy then go for it. Personally I don’t see makeup as collectibles. I want to use what I buy and enjoy it and not fear losing it or breaking the case. The Sublimage highlighter is very pretty but I rarely reach for highlighter. My go to is the Chanel Les Beiges Pearly Glow. The fragrance is a pass for me. I’m not into fresh fragrances. Yes. I would be interested in a review of the new compact foundation.❤❤❤❤❤

Hahaha I couldn’t help myself I ordered a 31 lipstick and the very next day I went in and bought more with the coffret 😁 A lot of people are saying that they look so much more luxurious in person and while certainly beautiful I don’t think that they do honestly and I think that they cheaped out on the display tray thingy in the box as that is just a hard cardboard and it’s not even felted. I don’t regret it but I also think you can live without it

I think that the 31 lipsticks are for the collectors, those who want to be extra, and those who don’t need to think about the price. I also believe Chanel knows they will not be selling a lot of these but the buzz surrounding the 31 collection is good publicity. I’m not buying these lipsticks but we certainly are talking about them with raised eyebrows.🤨 Perhaps many people will go to the boutique to have a look at them and then purchase something else. Mission accomplished.

As beautiful as the glass lipsticks are, I could never buy one without swatching the colours in person. Just would make me ill if I ended up not liking the colour from a blind buy. Even so, I might not buy just because of the price! I think Guerlain's lipstick cases are more beautiful and less expensive. I am interested in this years's special bee case for the Holidays.

I am curious about the one neutral pricey Chanel lipstick. It looked great on one you tube lady. Another you tube lady said she had hoped there would be pink lipsticks in this collection but they appear to be mostly reds, which is what Chanel does all the time.

I went on the Bay site and take a look at the pricing of the Sublimage makeup products, I think you've been very conservative on the price tag, considering the 140$ for the eye corrector, 218$ for the essence de teint and 204$ for the crème ultime, I think 175-180$ would be more accurate. Don't get me wrong I have many of Chanel products and will continue to buy but I think their prices have gone up a lot lately. Same for the cushion foundation 86$ for 9g, that would be 286$ before taxes for a 30ml when the actual 30ml 77$.... yikes....🖤

I had a credit on PayPal, from a recall refund from Fit Bit(that’s another story) , so I splurged and ordered the lipstick. I get it delivered tomorrow. It’s a silly splurge but having recently walked up the glass staircase at the Paris flagship Chanel store I had to have it. I hope I’m not disappointed. I will however, NOT be buying the $500 collection with the box. I can’t find enough shades that I’d use to fill the order with refills.

Hello Alison. Just a tiny comment the 31 lipstick case is made out of glass and is pretty heavy on the hand. The price is a shocker but the refills that u can buy separate are in a bit not so crazy prices. I though the colours were not my style. But in reality they have beautiful raspberry and fuchsia colours. The formula is very smooth and lightweight. I promised myself I won’t buy it. But…. I got the coffret gifted with the case and two refills. Something I didn’t see coming 😂😂😂 so I can say am pretty happy with it. Coffret is pretty and minimalistic and the idea is to pass it as a heirloom to your daughter. For the rest al not interested in anything. The sublimage creme I turned the corner when I saw the price tag tbh 🤣🤣🤣

The 31 Les Rouges lipsticks are priced for serious Chanel collectors and people who treat a $195 like it's a 19.99 in their pocket. I'm quite happy with the Chanel lipsticks and this wouldn't be lipstick I would buy. Allison, as you said three of these bad boys would pay for a session of Botox. I mean at that price those lipsticks have been blessed by the Pope and infused with drops of water from the fountain of youth. I love the lipstick colour you are wearing.
