Worked as a plant fitter in the 70's. These usually had petter engines but sometimes lister. Bought the parts for these in Ruislip. ( not the engines. Lister in staines and petter in Acton). Good Times.
Interesting, been re powered by a much higher revving Petter AC engine. I have the same dumper. They originally came with a Petter Ava1 or Lisrer LD 2. I re powered mine with a Petter PH1; Take a look. Cheers.
Hi, do you know what size drive belt is required? and where to purchase please? We have one and the belt shredded so unable to look up details. many thanks
@@clivewarrell4024 I have had an endless belt made for my dumper, it's around 50 quid taylor made but it lasts under the extreme torque and tension, also I notice there is no metal covers on a lot of the dumpers I've seen on youtube, this is to stop you from accidentally getting caught up in the running belt, the cover also acts as a stopper from the belt sliding off the engine pulley, ideally, the belt should be this loose so when the clutch pedal is pressed, the belt is slack enough to stop the friction on the gearbox driving thus making it easy to select forward or reverse without crunching the gearbox. I've found this belt which is very thin, vulcanised joint and the same material as conveyor belts, the dumper pulls away on a steep hill with ease with 3/4 of a tonne of soil in it no problem. Pm me for the makers the belt.

@@clivewarrell4024 For what it¨s worth. You can use a piece of rope to measure the necessary length along the pulleys and work from there. ;-)
Cheers
did he original engines run much slower
