Just a lovely thoughtful video! I love the intentionality behind your knitting and sewing goals - such a big yes to using up scraps for quilting, that is one of my goals for this year too. The little sheep on your project bag, eee! xx
Ah, yes! I’m using every bit of that sheep fabric that I can! And yay for scrap busting! I don’t know why I hadn’t thought to use my scraps on quilts sooner! Thank you so much for watching! ❤️
Yes agree slowing down and embracing the project you are working on feels so rewarding. My goal is also to finish all the projects I have acquired and use up stash. I also don’t like having overwhelming amounts of projects in my queue. Thank you for sharing your journey of learning
I have just the same queue in my Ravelry - we are really in sync with our views of stash and projects. For your quilting, it's not a quilting foot that you need but a walking foot. A walking foot has feed dogs for the top layer that work with the bottom layer and makes such a difference. I love quilting too - it's such fun to play with colour and shape x
@@MrsKWheatley ah that’s so funny! What’s your ravelry name? I wanna follow along! I do have a walking foot! (That’s how I quilted my last quilt) But I was hoping to try some free motion quilting as well and designs on the fabric, but I’m quite new to this whole sub-hobby of quilting. I’m assuming I can’t do free motion quilting with a walking foot- that it’s more for straight lines?
Hello hello! I was very happy when I saw the title of this episode. I felt it going to be a soothing video, and it was, which I am grateful for. Thank you for sharing your approach towards the stash management - my intentions are similar, not to buy anything before I use like 90% of what I already have! But, being a project manager, I do plan my knits throughout the year - in 2024 it was very helpful in organising my work/hobby of knitting. So, I intend on repeating the yearly roadmap of my knits :) Cannot wait to see your projects, all the best in the New Year, and until the next time!
Ah, I’m so glad that it was the slow pace that you were looking for! I would love to see how you map out everything and keep track. I am not very organized by nature, but love learning more about it!
Hi Becca! So last year my intention was to learn colour work too and I got Anna's book as a Xmas present. So far, I've made some mittens, a hot water bottle, both from Anna's this year's advent calendar. I also turned the Bowfell jumper into a dress. I actually added short rows after splitting for sleeves which I learned to do with the Love Number sweater by Lily Kate France. To be honest, in hindsight I shouldn't have done it as I have a short torso and it's made the back a little too long for a dress. However, for a sweater it works really well. In fact, they go round the front and they look like darts. I also had the intention to learn to knit socks and I made 13 pairs! This year I want to knit and sew through my stash. I want to pattern test a knit and I'd like to get back to X stitch and embroidery 😊
Ah twins! I also received her book as a Christmas present. How funny! Ooh, I’ve been thinking about making the bowfell sweater as it’s just so lovely! Wow, 13 pairs of socks! That’s incredible! And you’ve never done socks before? I’m so impressed! Cheers to working on our stash this year! I hope we can keep each other accountable!
I bet, just based on these podcasts, we would be friends.my goal is to by som sheep, process, dye and spin their wool to weave cloth to make a garment 😂😂😂 which I’m sure will only take days seriously, I have to force myself to slow down as well. I’m getting better about frogging and tearing out stitches. Enjoy!
Yes, it’s a sawtooth star! I didn’t follow a pattern, I just made it up as I went along. But there are so many free tutorials on the internet that you could follow. Maybe I’ll film a quick tutorial the next time I make one! I’m sorry I can’t be more helpful right now!

So true! I’m excited to whittle down my stash this year and enjoy using what I have! Thank you so much for watching! ❤️

I do my stockinette with the kids during knitting group:)

Ah, that’s so kind! I would absolutely join you on your sheep farm and happily spin wool and knit all day! The dream 😍
What pattern did you use for your very cute project bag, i am also learning to sew that type of quilt star, i think it called the sawtooth star.😊
