- Brahmastra and Kalki 2898 AD have different screenplays but quite similar storylines, in addition, they are both a perfect blend of Indian mythology and modern day sci-fi, so the comparison is justified.
In the world of Brahmastra, the astras are still around, the villain is after brahmastra - the most powerful astra, to gain power over the world, the universe. Similarly, in Kalki, elements of Mahabharata are still around, in the future dystopian world, and they have to protect the mother and the unborn child while the villain is after them, so that eventually he can have the power over the world.

Another difference between these two are the minds behind it...Nag Ashwin accepting all the criticisms positively as well as agreeing with audience upon all weak points of the movie and willing to improve his craft but On the other hand there in Ayan Mukherji, who was so defensive for his movie and refused to accept a single criticism.

Brahmastra was more about worthless love story than astras which should have been the primary focus of the movie.
Brahmastra was a joke & too a poor one, no wonder people forgot it so easily. Rightly said, no effort was made on story narrative or world building, it was a love story with the backdrop of mythology. After the release of Brahmastra-part 1, there were some murmurs of part 2 but now, it’s absolute silence. I don’t think there’ll be another part for Brahmastra. Kalki, otoh, is a much polished product, even though the 1st half was a drag. But, it has clearly set the stage for a grand sequel.

The 2nd part will going to release in 2026 December and the 3rd part will be in 2027, coz director said that he had seek reviews and critics from the audience and improved same in the next scripts and they said we'll shoot both the parts simultaneously whereas if we see in kalki the wirework looks literally fake people are flying in one punch like a cotton the execution of vision is not so good@@ab041937
You are extremely wrong in one aspect … the visuals of brahmastra were good …but the visuals and vfx of Kalki was far superior than brahmastra….. in Kalki there is literal creation of multiple worlds…dystopian Kashi, complex and shambala..all these are unique in itself …on top of this the climax gorilla robotic fight vfx was top notch …and 8 feet Amitabh fight with 6 feet Prabhas was perfect…when there is wide spectrum of vfx worlds there will obviously be little let downs …that doesn’t mean brahmastra vfx is better … there isn’t a world creation in brahmastra to begin with …the fire vfx was the only challenging part .

Funny thing is that both movies had the same VFX company (DNEG) but makers of kalki made it with a realistic approach like building AI based car, Costumes, weapons ( although some people don't like it but it was done with proper imagination and practical thinking of easy to use lightweight weapons but futuristic features TBH i felt like i was watching an episode of Ben 10 or avenger kind of stuff set in futuristic india❤
