Using the IQ 78U is like driving a race car with slick tires on a wet track. Adding a souped up engine (core) does not prevent you from losing control and crashing the car. It's the TRACTION that's the most important thing when bowling on oil. The ball companies can put a fancy core in the IQ 78U but when you have no traction, you're screwed. The PBA ban on soft urethane is like telling a driver he can't use snow tires or chains when driving on icy roads in a snow storm. They want you to show them how skilled you are driving with bald tires on an icy road.
Michael and Chris, I've subscribed to your channel all the way from Australia 🇦🇺, always on the lookout for new balls especially the Hybrid balls and enjoying the sport of bowling.
Did you drill another one that’s weaker ? Drilled mine strong and I play left a lot. Just wanted to see if you recommend drilling it a little weaker next to play straighter
Might curious to the layout comparison on iQ78U. Also, the same layout comparison to fast pitch or pitch black. What’s the shape of pitch black between 5*5*3 and 4.5*3.75*5?
I don't see this one being a big seller to the public. Tour pros and even amateur tourney guys will use it whenever the rules exclude other urethane balls like the Pitch Black and the Purple Hammer, but outside of that, I'm betting most will fall back on the shape and ball reaction of the softer urethane balls they were using before. It DOES seem, however, that Storm has done a great job utilizing a big, strong core to offset the harder, weaker coverstock to best mimic the now "illegal" urethane balls.
He says the Hot Cell "never strikes". My 845 (including a 300) ring would like a word with you. Yes, that set was on a "house shot", but still that ball hit like TWO trucks.
3rd! Great video Chris. You can make anythang look good. I have a question. When folks switch to the NU Blue Hammer and IQ 78U this 2024 tour season and continue to dominate the field, what are the PBA crybabies going to think of next to complain about?
My assumption is that he always makes the left blue, right red so that he can know at a glance which way is up. Sort of a different way of marking than the x in the palm for his stuff.
Next PBA season is going to be really interesting. Wonder what all the purple hammer guys will end up using. This ball? The blue hammer? something else? hmmm. And will they still bowl as well?
@@ryanduggins1464 I just don’t see the need to sell it to the market. Perhaps their consumers really don’t understand urethane. Not to mention, I have a hard time respecting a ball that had minimal thought put into it. Using an already designed core shows me a lack of creativity. But I digress
@hersheyskwertz9315 I agree to a point. Bowling balls are manufactured to be sold and used. A few folks in my league got the NU Blue Hammer and it works well on a THS. I am sure the IQ 78U will work well also. I already have a Pitch Black. Maybe in a couple years.
Chris always passes the vibe check. I feel like i’ve never seen him lose his cool
I agree

Am going to do a sport shot league in the summer and this is going to be my first urethane ball hope it’s very nice
That place is awesome. Palace!
Especially if you like short patterns
Man you really sold me on that Your Tour Dynam-X 🤣🤣🤣
I'm bowling in the Masters this year, can I throw any urethane or are there certain ones we can't throw?
You can throw any USBC certified urethane other than the 16/17 purple hammer

wished i can go to a empty bowling ally like this atlest once, i hate bowling with little kids next to you sharing the same ball return
Where I’m from, most centers look like this on the weekdays
New camera?
How it compares to the Pitch Black
so will the pitch black be banned next season?
Hardness rule will make very little difference. More core, stronger drilling or more surface.
Curious why you guys are at Palace instead of Holiday this time?
Easier to put down a short pattern?
Palace house pattern seems to be short af all the time.

Who is running the shop at the Palace these days?
i dont know his last name but his name is david and he kind of looks like jesus lol

Free fall pins flying around too much! Need to reign those in some way!
@@ripvanrevs lol... maybe put those pins on strings. 😆
Just notice your insert are always red and blue.. is that just a coincidence or something else?😅
Now I see that. I wonder if he does that to help watching how the ball rolls down the lane.

The blue hammer because most of them are brunswick staffers
a new purple hammer is being announced next month
do urethane balls have a smell? Great vid and mav is my goat.
Yes. Mine smells like money. 💰 😆
@@CliftonDon74 lol
"Best new urethane".. Lol.
I would take my hammer raw urethane ball to it and it responds way better!!Just saying
A ball that should only really be available to the pros since all amateurs will be able to continue to use pitch black and purple hammer.
That's not how business work lol they use the pros to market the balls to other bowlers. They need to make money not sense
