@Muzik Michael Oh the AL:L tried to Follow Michal's path to fame and fortune and the ONLY one to achieve a modicum of success was Janet. Now shouldn't you all be ion church for something?
I’ve been telling people for years, Jermaine is NO scrub on the bass. The guy can PLAY! Singing and playing is VERY difficult and he makes it look easy.
I concur. Guitar and singing. No problem. Drumming and singing. Still not that hard. Bass and singing? VERY hard! I’ve seen Jermaine play bass, sing, AND execute some challenging dance moves all at once. He’s my favourite Jackson sibling.
True. In fact Tito just released his 2nd solo album this summer and it's getting great reviews. Even the staff at the Grammy Awards loves it. Plus Jermaine's single Let's Get Serious was named the # 1 Soul Single of 1980
If anyone ever observed Jermaine as a kid ...let me say he was playing bass /singing his ass off and dancing at the same time. And if a few times the J5 played to the record let me enlighten those who are not musicians / His fingering was ALWAYS accurate! Been a musician for 50 years and Jermaine Jackson was the coolest guy to ever pick up a bass guitar!
There were rumors that he couldn't even play the bass and that there was someone else in the background playing it....not only did he prove that rumor wrong he played that bass as well as all the top bassist. In fact, he's singing and playing which is harder to do.
i watch old videos of the jacksons a lot just to see the small bits where he’s playing the bass, even if it was a backing track, you can obviously see he’s playing all the right notes every time, and there are plenty of live videos if you look close enough. and when he toured with the jacksons there were no backup bass players, it was only him. now tito on the other hand had two guitar players and himself and a lot of the times he was not playing what the music was playing in the background, so he makes me a little skeptical😂
Jermaine Jackson has always been 1 of my very favorite singer/songwriters, multi-instrumentalist EVER !! He is along with El DeBarge & Rick James are very underrated & unappreciated artist ever !
yes! jermaine is very under appreciated, this guy wrote some bangin azz rnb ballads! beautiful voice great composer! that song " calling all girls" he wrote for switch with that five part harmony is a straight up basement slow jam grinding song! i cant believe he wrote it cause its just sooo black! lol
Some of forget that JERMAINE Jackson is a Baddass Bassist...My favorite. He inspired me and I later Studied Bass Guitar in College...Seems Hebrew into a Wise Man.something I'm sure he obtained from his Mom, Miss Katherine Jackson..We love You and Blessings of Wellness and Happiness.
I had never seen young black kids, or any kids, playing guitars until Tito and Jermaine showed up in 1969. Jermaine was 14, and Tito was 16, when I first saw them, but they had to have learned years earlier.
Jermaine can hold his own on a bass guitar! to sing lead, backgrounds, dance AND play bass in an incredible talent! Lets get serious is a great song but try playing, dancing and singing to "Looking through the window"
He's got to be great to pull that off! ( A flatly tuned bass, a low volume backing track, and people clapping all off the beat right in your ear.) Go JJ.
YAY, You still rock JJ! Saw you and your brothers at Art on Ice in Zurich and once at the Hotel with my family on a sunday before the show! You guys were GREAT! :) Greetings from Switzerland!
Jermaine could have been featured by his bass playing alone if bass players were seen as cool back then another thing it's not easy to sing and play bass at the same time just shows how talented he is
😎 You said this was the only emoji that mattered. I don't even swear, but you on that bass - damn! I live to hear that LIVE! You owe me a concert. I'm gonna keep telling you until it happens or until I get on your nerves and you cuss me out. Whichever comes first. 🤣🤣🤣
I don't watch the video because he is Michael Jackson's brother but I searched for his latest videos because I have been very impressed with his voice since he was a child
Great showmanship at 1:51, getting everyone to clap, Jermaine, but I had to find myself focusing on your mans in the background around 2:06 when everyone else has stopped and he's just enjoying himself, clapping off-beat until he finally realizes he's the only one still clapping... You know that whole "second-hand embarassment" thing...? Lmao
He can still thump dat bass. One of the most underrated musicians in the biz.
piijay14 Yes i totally agree.
piijay14
Maybe he is underrated because he himself shifted the focus away from his musicianship when he tried to follow Michael's footsteps
He is an underrated bass player. He was shadowed by his younger brother. He is great!!!!. His skills at slapping while singing are among the top!
@Muzik Michael Oh the AL:L tried to Follow Michal's path to fame and fortune and the ONLY one to achieve a modicum of success was Janet. Now shouldn't you all be ion church for something?
@Muzik Michael I am NOT a "He" fucking learn how to properly write a comment.
I’ve been telling people for years, Jermaine is NO scrub on the bass. The guy can PLAY! Singing and playing is VERY difficult and he makes it look easy.
hes a big star
One of the best on bass very underrated
There's like two songs I can sing and play bass on, and poorly at that.
I concur. Guitar and singing. No problem. Drumming and singing. Still not that hard. Bass and singing? VERY hard! I’ve seen Jermaine play bass, sing, AND execute some challenging dance moves all at once. He’s my favourite Jackson sibling.
Exactly, it is very difficult to sing and play bass at the same time. It takes practice, and extra talent to do that.
I wish Tito and Jermaine would make RUclips instructional videos of their Jackson Five songs preformed while they were in concert.
I soooo wanna see that too. RIP Tito, Michael, and Papa Joe
That Bass Line Is STILL FIRE.......
As a singing bassist I can tell you that to play and sing this is VERY difficult. He makes it look easy.
Jermaine still sounding as good as he did when he was with The Jackson Five. That's called natural talent there.
Jermaime Tito and Randy are all underrated musicians, I wish they would get an opportunity to shine again as musicians
True. In fact Tito just released his 2nd solo album this summer and it's getting great reviews. Even the staff at the Grammy Awards loves it. Plus Jermaine's single Let's Get Serious was named the # 1 Soul Single of 1980

Playing bass, singing... in tune. This guy is amazing.
He is an underrated bass player. He was shadowed by his younger brother. He is great!!!!. His skills at slapping while singing are among the top!
He still gives a good performance,..and a hard thing to play bass and sing !! Respect to you, Jermaine !!
That is hard to play that hard bass line and then song on top of it my Gosh! He is awesome!
Listening to Jermaine on the bass, I can picture Michael Dancing to it.
Very talented Jermaine Jackson
There were rumors that he couldn't even play the bass and that there was someone else in the background playing it....not only did he prove that rumor wrong he played that bass as well as all the top bassist. In fact, he's singing and playing which is harder to do.

@@dayshawnaexcept Tito always played Lead guitar and that was evident. Rhythm guitar mat be another story
Jermaine would sing dance and pluck that bass!!! Incredible
Yeah haters can clown his hair all they want but Joe gave Jermaine that bass back in 1964 for a reason!!!....pay attention!!!
Agreed

J.J. can play for real, much slept on.
never forget that Jermaine is a Jackson.
Cool video footage! Jermaine still got it as an underrated bassist. He can still chop up the licks on that bass. Major respect to a true music legend.
Jermaine Jackson has always been 1 of my very favorite singer/songwriters, multi-instrumentalist EVER !! He is along with El DeBarge & Rick James are very underrated & unappreciated artist ever !

Sounding good Jermaine!! Wow!
Definitely one of the most underrated bassist in the business. Micheal always said Jermaine could play that bass
I had never seen young black kids, or any kids, playing guitars until Tito and Jermaine showed up in 1969. Jermaine was 14, and Tito was 16, when I first saw them, but they had to have learned years earlier.

I'm happy for Jermaine Jackson!
Jermaine and Tito were ALWAYS badasses. Bet they both still got it in 2021.
Jermaine could have been featured by his bass playing alone if bass players were seen as cool back then another thing it's not easy to sing and play bass at the same time just shows how talented he is
Still can do that thing! And I think he's the 2nd best singer in The Jacksons (the first being the King of Pop)
OF Course He Was the 2nd Lead
Awesome performance... underrated frfr

Number one r&b song of 1980 from his number one album. Mike wasn't the only successful Jacksons brother. Jermaine was the man back in the day.

He is the best bassist in the Jackson 5
c'etait une vrai famille de musiciens et chanteurs !
The fact they thought Jermaine was fake playing the bass all these years i mean evidently it's not a play back
🔥
I wonder why he doesn’t tour ???
🎉🎊
só por ser irmão de Michael jackson já atrai o publico .
I don't watch the video because he is Michael Jackson's brother but I searched for his latest videos because I have been very impressed with his voice since he was a child
Tio... afina ese bajo hombre...
Nathan Watts actual is the bassist the record!!
white guy clapping off beat. Classic!
I need the man next to him just stop clapping...thank you...
He needed help to get on beat. 😂😂😂
the bass is out of tune, but singing and slapping like that his aweome.
pretty sure the b string is flat , hate when that happens mid show , that’s why I rely solely on my ear and tuning pegs , no tuners
Great showmanship at 1:51, getting everyone to clap, Jermaine, but I had to find myself focusing on your mans in the background around 2:06 when everyone else has stopped and he's just enjoying himself, clapping off-beat until he finally realizes he's the only one still clapping... Play that gitfiddle Jermaine
