- In today's video I am installing a cool part I found while browsing eBay! These are OEM style led fog light bezels that are identical to the oem accessory liners. Except these ones also have a turn signal function and are basically plug and play and half the price of the oem ones!

Doggos eyes said “who me?” Haha
Really nice mod! Your ride looks really great. One of the best looking VBs I’ve seen so far.
I've been waiting on someone to post about these before committing myself, and I'm glad you did since you're one of the few I trust to do an honest review.
Looks really clean! I'll have to say it compliments the front end very nicely. Looking forward to seeing more of your build.
Super clean love it, can’t wait to pick it up for myself
How did u splice the connectors inside the drivers side? You got pictures or a video of the wire set up?
They looks awesome, nice upgrade. Great video man!
Pumping out videos left and right! Keep it up man!
Been waiting for the ebay special on the OEM stuff, ordering mine tonight.
“I don’t wanna spend 400$ for them” meanwhile me with a base having to buy the oem fog light kit and then these off eBay at almost 500$ total 😂 100% worth it tho
Great find! Thanks for posting. btw was cool to see you all in the owners Lounge.
Good video, so I just did spark plugs at 30000 miles on my VB and let me tell you. Driverside sucks ... So bad. I was half tempted to pull the damn motor. No one has a video, so you can be the first! Also noted tuned with 29000 miles being tuned I was starting to get random fine knock to often. Plugs fixed it.
I really like the look of those, but I bought a base model so I need that kit, plus the OEM fog light (with switch) kit which is back up to 7-800 bucks. Even more if I buy both OEM kits! I need a cheaper all-in-one kit! 🙂
A good two-part epoxy glue will fix that broken bumper tab you have there good as new. I used some packets of epoxy from eBay made for model airplanes years ago to create entire new bumper tabs that were missing from my old 2.5RS coupe.
Nice!!! I’ll have to check them out! Just bought a VB and I want those lights!
Such a cool upgrade!
Those are definitely nice. IIR released a video last night I think about new parts and those were in there. I think I’m going to collect parts like the brace , grill and those so I only have to pull the bumper one time.
Wow what a find! Looks great! Honestly might better than the oem with the switchback.
Same function as in the VA. The gloss black looks good.
awesome find thanks for the info!!!
You're car is lookin hot 🔥
Keep up the good work with your car & video's.
From your fan in Australia 🇦🇺
I just want dedicated DRLs and not using my headlight as the drl . On the auto position during daytime are the headlights still on or just little LEDS
Running halo drls on the fogs rn, I think they’d look awesome w the that whole setup. Thanks for the awesome vid, might do this 👌🏽
Could you link those halo fogs?
I really wanna like this, but after seeing you abuse that poor dog, I just can’t. 😂 These look slick dude! Love the content. I’m shopping for my VB and you’re just pumping out all these videos and making me more and more excited.
switchback is way better than oem. just wish they had the solid bar (like on the va bezels) instead of the individual leds
Nice wish i knew about these I went and got the OEM ones still look sick but these are nice with the turn signal option.
Solid find dude. Ive been wanting these but not for the price they want.
It appears they raised the price after my video 🙄
@@StreetInspired1 Go figure, just came back here to buy them too. Guess Ill wait, I just bought some other goodies for the wrx anyways haha
I wish you would of filmed what you did under the dash. i want to go this route but havn't found a video of someone doing it.
Great find and video. Went to buy and sold out already rip.
Sorry to hear that. I would keep checking back or just search for them on ebay. Hopefully they restock soon
Hey I did find another seller with them listed. Says there's still 9 available! www.ebay.com/itm/394707102350?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=9dygqwpqr12&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=7wXLOJ3_RUW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Yeah maybe you could help a brother out and just add a picture on this thread of the jumper connection under the dash. Not everyone is as clever as you with electrical. I'm sure it's simple.
Yeah, it's just a jumper plug. Sorry I blew up.
Nice! I wanted to get them too but also considering cutting out the honeycomb and replace it with black mesh to match the grill and increase airflow hopefully to the brakes. Not sure if it would mess up the aero though.
Any chance you recorded how you tapped into the turn signal? That's really the best part about these
Unfortunately I didn't and after seeing all these comments I wish I did. I just tapped into thr Yello wire coming off the turn signal bulb using a quick tap wire connector. Below is a really good video showing how to use them. I hope this helps! ruclips.net/video/dbIL5tg_nTo/видео.html
damn, now I kinda wish I waited for these instead of buying the OEM ones... woulda saved 200 bucks. only difference is that mine came with the plug and play wire underneath the steering wheel lol
p.s. needs more dog featured in your videos
Great video as always! I'm a bit unsure on how u were able to get power to your new fog bezels. Maybe after I order ill figure it out... That's how it usually goes lol
Same, i ordered them last night. I hope its easy 😂
@@leo65791 If you remember, pls let me know how your install goes.
@@wuhanbatmeat1669 ill let you know!
@@leo65791 any luck with the install? I just hooked everything up except the main power. I'm afraid to just cut wires
@@wuhanbatmeat1669 everything is good on mine, except for the turn signals, i haven’t tried connecting them
Ha! The ones you linked are $399 now. Guess they saw your video. That’s a bummer! I would have definitely bought them for $200.
You're kidding!!! That crap pisses me off. Cool while it lasted
I just saw that rexpeed now has these same ones for $260. It was more expensive than what these originally were but sure beats $400.
@@StreetInspired1 thanks bro!
Wish there was a bezel that made the fake vents up top functional. Only thing that it's missing
Considering that what's behind the fake vents is pretty much just air pockets with the horns in them, that might be the last thing you'd want, especially if you live in the rust belt.
@robertsgarlata4085 I can fabricate something to direct it where I want it. Just got my MSP carbon fiber bezels which have open vents.
Im thinking of getting this as well. I did not quite understand what you did with the driver side footwell plug? I saw yo7u plugged into the factory harnesses and but what did the plug inside of the car go to? Thanks!
So I just cut the connector under the dash shown and connected the two wires together.
As someone to learnt to drive in the UK, I find it frustrating that the DRL's go on and off when using the handbrake. It isn't considered a 'parking' brake in the UK, it is a fully functional part of driving a manual. If there is a way to disable the running lights on-off with the handbrake (Without ruining anything else that needs the handbrake signal), I'd love to know.
We actually more commonly call it an “e-brake” in North America. We use it for parking, and for drifting corners in the winter. Otherwise it’s not necessary unless there is an emergency.
@@SuzukiKid400 yup. Own 2.cars here in the USA. I have a buddy that gets mad when I drove his car, and pulled the handbrake up when I oarked his automotic, because of one time hisnhandbrake cable had broken, so now he doesn't use it and saves it "for emergencies". /Facepalm.
I really wish the driving education here was better in the USA.
how low did you lowered this in the video? and was it springs before you upgraded to coilovers. Thanks man
Great find buddy! Just got em ordered myself. Not exactly sure how to wire it in the fuse panel though... Maybe you can help a guy out with that?
Ended up not needing the Fuze panel at all. I just connected the two wires on that connector under the dash and good to go!
@@StreetInspired1can you post a video on how to do it? Also how to get the turn signal part to work?
Yeah, I'm sure it's obvious, but it would have been nice to how and what wires you connected. I wonder if you could source the connection through Subaru?
@@StreetInspired1 I appreciate the response! Any chance you could just snap a pic underneath the dash to just show the wiring? I think we're all curious haha
@@StreetInspired1what 2 wire
Im hoping someone makes a kit that looks like the concept sti bezels with air ducts
I'm sure someone will and when they do I'll definitely be getting a set!
What color is that car? Color name
would you post a part number for that connector jumper if you find it?
I did look around for a while and couldn't find it but if I do I'll let you know!
@@StreetInspired1i might make my own jumper connector instead of splicing the factory wire. do you recommend running a fuse on the jumper connector?
@@johnguese4566 the jumper with the factory kit has no fuse. I totally agree with your idea of creating a DIY jumper - maybe some blade connectors alone would do the job. Look for the pink tape when you go searching up there.
@@StreetInspired1 i found elsewhere theres supposed to be a 1 amp fuse on a jumper there. does that track?
@@robertsgarlata40855 amp fuse and a fuse holder with 2 female pin connectors is what ive put in mine.
Wonder if this would work with base model
Do you need to install that jumper under the dash if your car came with factory fog lights in the higher trim level?
Yes. This car had factory Fogs equipped. You'll still need to jump the wires
I had the bumper off of mine, does anyone know if that fake vent can be opened up. There's a hole in the bumper that could allow airflow.
8:26 what you talking about willis
I get these tomorrow, so the plug on the driver side, you cut that white adaptor off and inside that harness you just connect the wires together?
Correct!
Can you just buy the connector separately so I don’t have to cut them? (For the plug n play)
Unfortunately, I was not able to find the oem connector on its own.
Hey man quick question I have 22 Wrx limited still with Stock wheels.. I want to put spacers do u prefer 25 or 22mm spacers
any thoughts on connecting yellow wire to limited headlight assembly? Limited not have yellow wire on light assembly
I didn't even think of this. I'm not sure. This would be a little more complicated. You would probably have to remove the headlight plug and test each wire pin on the connector with the turn signal active to see which one is the turn signal and then tap into that wire.
Did you ever figure out which wire to tap?
Is there anyway to get just the factory jumper needed @6:45?
It has a part number on the look up. But GL trying to find it in the diagram. It’s part of the interior wiring harness diagrams. 😢
What kind of dremel did you use to trim in front of your fmic? Ty
I just used a razor blade!
Sounds good. Thank you man!
Question, do these work on the base model? I dont even remember if my car has an on/off fog light button. I have the base model.
If you don't have fog lights, these will still fit but there will be a hole for the fog light.
@@StreetInspired1 is there a way to order just the fog lights without the bezel and then order these painted bezels?
@FrankieJayy as of now I think the only kit available is thr oem kit which comes with Bezels.
Out of curiosity… Do fog light DRLs disable the headlight DRLs?
Unfortunately they don't. Thr healdight DRLs still function as before.
@@StreetInspired1 That’s disappointing but good to know. Thanks for the reply.
Did they actually use your car for the product pictures?
Yeah, I sent them some pictures after the install and gave them permission to use them.
Now if someone would make one with amber running lights, I’m in!
You could wire them up to run with the amber lit. But you wouldn't have them working as turn signals then
@@StreetInspired1 How?
will that work on base models?
Yep!
Ordered and received both the bezels here and the switchback bulbs for the drl/blinker in the headlights and current status is hyper-blink turn signals including the amber of the new led strip...but no white light at all on these assemblies. It's late and I'm tired but wtf?? Help?
That's strange, because I also have led tail lights. When I installed my rexpeed tail lights with my resistors I didn't have hyper flash. I removed them and had hyper flash so I reinstalled. After installing these Bezels I removed my resistors and bo longer had hyper flash so maybe the resistors built into the rexpeed tail lights have just enough extra load with the led Bezels to stop hyper flash. My mistake but that was my experience. And if you're white running light isn't working make sure you connect the wires under the dash. The plug I showed in my video has one black wire and one white wire. You just connect those two wires together and plug the lights in and they should function any time the car is on.
Sometimes all it takes is going to sleep when tired and miracles happen overnight. I think my wire splice was trash because I just reconnected the words under dash and all is well! Still hyperflash but I'll check your video on that and see if I can't remedy that situation too. Thanks for the replies and sorry to waste everyone's time on my rookie mistakes.
@@SavageBluetickdid you end up installing resistor on to get rid of the hyperflash?
@@johnguese4566 oh yeah, I did. It took a bit of time to do it nice and clean but hyperflash is fixed. I picked up a pack of Sylvania resistors at autozone. All good now. All the lights work as intended.
@@SavageBluetick thank you!
Can we confirm if the dog is in fact a good boy?
Can Confirm!
More dog content plz
That's what I'm saying
Also you lie!!! The switchback bulbs in the headlight assembly for drl and turn signal is bright AF! 😂. Those work great at least. These eBay bezel light things not so much at the moment.
Not sure what you mean? Mine are working great and are pretty bright.
@@StreetInspired1 I just mean in the video you mentioned they aren't as bright in reality as they look in the video. Mine are very bright and look great. I was joking. Highly recommend that swap.
What year is your car ?
2022
@@StreetInspired1 oh nice! I just bought my first 2020 subí Impreza hatchback sport. This video is inspo for sure
Damn wish I seen this before dropping $400+ on oem
Are the oem one more plug and play than this
@@fayizd654 yea completely plug and play
Maybe yours will last
@@vincentmoore9891 tbh, looking at the wiring quality on the oem ones, looks as if its not the greatest quality lol
@@Wrx.Saddie yeah sometimes OEM isn’t the best .. I got a brand new trunk lid from Subaru and the fitment is off smh
Should I still run a fuse for this? as seen in this video ruclips.net/video/Dn36bnQD9aw/видео.html
puppy dog :D
$259 now 😢
I saw that they changed the price. Kinda shitty they did that 🙄
Out of stock right away 😢
I found more here www.ebay.com/itm/394707102350?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=9dygqwpqr12&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=7wXLOJ3_RUW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Lol seller made them $1400 now
Ive asked about that and on ebay sellers typically do this when they are sold out and back ordered to prevent people from buying them and if someone does buy them they are refunded. I've been told this is easier than removing the listing and recreating a new one later. I have seen this before on eBay with exhausts and all sorts of things.
Listing removed
Should still be up, just out of stock. I did find another seller selling them. Says there's 9 in stock. About $10 more than the other seller but still not hateful. www.ebay.com/itm/394707102350?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=9dygqwpqr12&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=7wXLOJ3_RUW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
What did you connect the under dash wires to?
They just get connected together. I cut odd the connector and connected the pink wire to the black wire.
Were you stating that normally if an oem install, it would have a connector that would be included to have the two wires functioning under the dash?
mariot8879 yeah, oem kit has a connector that plugs in and just connects the two wires. It does have a small resistor or fuse on it also. I'm not using one and Mines been okay
@@mariot8879 I bought OEM ones from IIR and I received the JDM version with the harness with the toggle switch. Can’t return them cause it’s after the 90 day return window, con’s of traveling for work. Wonder if that’ll make mine work?
@@StreetInspired1You cut them and connect them together like the wires going into the plug just get fused together? Would one be positive and one be negative?
