07:45 - yes you are correct. They really do long solos and jam and flow a lot during concerts. They are an absolute JOY to watch! ❤ So talented these kids.
These kids are products of musician parents. Parents who used to play in rock/alternative bands. They are no joke as well they are good at what they do. They were child prodigies. You should hear the lead guitar solo in their song Mundo.
He is not even the lead vocalist, he and the other two had to step up after their vocalist left to go solo. If you liked this you''ll be blown away by Mundo and Come Inside of my Heart. Thank you for this reaction.
IV of Spades members Blaster ( lead guitar) and Zild ( bassist) their parents were mostly from famous band here in the 90s to 2000's so they grew up listening to a lot of music from those U2 era. so their music feels so nostaligic.
IV of Spades is heavily inspired by 1970s fashion, acts and sounds. Members of the band have cited various musical groups and artists as songwriting influences, including ABBA, Kings of Leon, Tame Impala, My Chemical Romance, Radiohead and Jet. The band's genre is a mix of 1970s influenced disco, funk, alternative rock and Manila Sound.
11:39- let's just put it this way... Let's pretend Manny Pacquaio is the real GOAT OF ALL GOATS in Boxing. America will not let that happen. Not in a bajillion years. You know why? They need to keep the myth that is Ali alive. America needs to always be a "dream" for the rest of the world, especially for us Brown Asian slash Pacific Islanders. Once in a while the "gatekeepers" will allow a brown-ish persona to break away like Jo Koy... But that's that. Tokenism. One of the sad realities of life.
They're kids of alt/indy rock recording artists; it's in the blood. They're awesomely anachronistic and diverse. Orange & Lemons would be a good representation too of Britpop/rock influenced Filipino music. (Aside: Ixnay on British and U2 in the same breath unless we're talking about U2 70s-80s activism against UK)
YESS!! IV of Spades are one of my top fave bands from Philippines! They opened the doors for me to other great OPM artists! For the most part after their first lead singer left the band, this is their aesthetic of music which i loooove! IV of Spades was an originally a 4-member band. Their song "Mundo" is their most popular one. But all of their songs are sooo good. Finally, you reacted to my request. I heard their other song, Come Inside My Heart, playing at Starbucks in Florida. I had to ask the baristas if they knew the song but they didn't. They said they were playing Spotify. Someone inside the cafe must have had that song included in the playlist. I wished this band was actually popular in the States, too.
@@denniszenanywhere Is it because the lyrics are in tagalog and you can't relate to it? Even the Beatles, my favorite band, had questionable songs (didn't like Obladi Oblada). Nobody's perfect.
So glad you reacted to this! I love this song and I appreciate the musicianship. I realize everyone has their personal music preferences when it comes to genres. I happen to love U2, but I also love any music done well. Thanks for delving into Filipino music culture. You reacted to a couple of artists I hadn’t listened to before. You barely scratched the surface of OPM. We definitely have a lot of musical choices. There's a lot of notable musicians out here through the years.
