  • The DCL Web Cam is a 24/7 streaming video of a set of bird feeders located in a wooded setting near Deep Creek Lake in Garrett County, Maryland, USA.
During the day, the feeders are visited by a variety of birds, including Northern Cardinals, American Goldfinches, Tufted Titmice, House Finches, Purple Finches, House Wrens, Carolina Wrens, Black-capped Chickadees, Baltimore Orioles, and Mourning Doves. Woodpeckers are common as well, including Downy, Hairy, Red-bellied, and Pileated. There are also a number of squirrels and chipmunks that feed on droppings from the feeders. We also see groups of deer in the woods and at the garden bench.
At night, the scene is illuminated with infrared lights and appears in black and white. During the night, there are a occasional visits by various critters, including raccoons, possums, skunks, rabbits, flying squirrels, bats, and the aforementioned deer. Recently, we have seen a Screech Owl that perches on one of the feeder poles or on a light fixture above the deck. Rarely, a Black Bear (or two or three) may stop by to investigate the feeders.
Normally, the web cam provides a fixed, overall view of the feeders, but we will sometimes control the cam to zoom in and follow activities of interest. Thank you for stopping by.
