    They might seem all the same crossover repeated over and over again, but what makes Irving so unique is that he can combine mixed combos with his footwork. If you pay close attention there's a vast set of techniques:
    1. through the leg hesi, cross, through the leg and then exploding to the rim
    2. in and out and drive
    3. pump fake, cross and drive
    4. cross and jump shot
    5. in and out + cross + reverse layup
    6. in and out + cross + layup with gathering step (legal in NBA, in FIBA they usually call it)
    7. Through the leg, hesi, cross and drive
    8. hesi shot, cross and drive
    9. counter cross
    10. behind the back, semi spin, cross, drive and euro step
    11. cross and jump shot
    12. behidn the back, cross, jump shot
    13. shamgod

      plus these are different situations against different defenders. isolations, off screens (rolls/slips), fast breaks, against guards, forwards, and centers. sometimes multiple defenders. only true ball players or analysts of the game can fully appreciate his craft

    Irving singlehandedly carried his team in game 4 in the eastern conference finals but in a post-game interview quickly shared the credit to his team with all humility. That it was and still is an on-going collective effort from coach Tyrone Lu, to LJ, KL, Trestan, JR, himself and the rest of the terrific guys on the bench.He even said as far as Lebron James is concerned, they are still his team mate and that they still look up to James as the major performer and conntributor for the whole team. What a guy! and when it was James to talk, everybody, his team mates just melt away. real trooper.

    To have multiple crossover moves and mix them up very night, clearly the best in the game with it.Steph,Kemba, are nice but Irving has a edge on them.

  • @jaredsee3443
    @jaredsee3443 7 лет назад

    Ooo So Smooth They are both difficult to guard in their own right because Kyrie is very crafty off the dribble and can get to the basket with ease. With Steph, you need to literally guard him when he crosses half court, which challenges defenses to their breaking point.

    these moves differentiate old school basketball from modern one. How can you guard this when there's no telling where and when he changes speed and direction. this kind of basketball moves reduce too much physicality.

    • @sirblunticus7968
      @sirblunticus7968 7 лет назад +1

      But it's ok because physicality has be removed from the NBA. 1980-early 2000's Basketball is the best, used to watch every game. can't stand the entertainment style play.....what people don't understand is, since the defenders can no longer touch, forearm, hand check....these moves shouldn't be applauded as much. Basketball has changed I'll admit, but not for the better. Notice the scores have gone way up? Score, score, score, score....no great defensive struggle, battles, physical back to the basket play.....garbage small ball always.
      ruclips.net/video/9JttE4UT74k/видео.html
      Hubie will explain! If you can't agree with Hubie, you can't be helped. Please children go research guys like Tmac (pre injury) Grant Hill (pre injury) Isaih Thomas (80's guard), Mahmoud Rouf (was curry before curry was curry) You would PAY A PRICE for this style of play back in the day.
      Now go research "Jordan Rules" (pistons)

    • @chiggsytube

      +Sir Blunticus I watched all those games and basketball then was just shit. Punching people is not defense. Don't romanticize that brutal unskilled crap. You have football for hits. Hoops is a skill game. Don't flog your ersatz nostalgia to the kids. Look at you anyway. Tim Hardaway. Rod Strickland. Spelling Isiah Thomas' name wrong. Stop calling them children and pick up the truth I just dropped and correct yourself.

    This is probably the most comprehensive compilation of Irving's ball-handling and crossover moves to date. One thing I've learned from this video (after constant replays of almost every crossover move in slow-mo) is that Irving is most effective in crossing over/up a player when he is lowest to the ground (i.e., when his chest faces the ground). If you watch closely as I did, you'll see the same exact thing. Even some of the best defenders in the league (such as Iman Shumpert and Avery Bradley, who are in this video) were helpless against him. He's virtually unstoppable and un-gaurdable in that position.

      Vermilion Zed cp3 is a very very good pg, putting up just over 18 ppg and 9 apg in 31 minutes per game. Kyrie is the new poster boy for pg's in the NBA. Just over 25 ppg and 5 apg in 35 minutes average . 25 years old coming into his prime and back to back nba finals. Cp3 WAS the best pg in my opinion. Kyrie is only going to get better whilst cp3s career is almost over

    Steph has better stats, but Kyrie honestly is the most SKILLED player in the league. He has the footwork of a shooting gaurd combined with point guard dribbling ability. On top of that he is ambidextrous which makes him alot harder to defend than curry. Curry has the best shooting ability I've ever seen, but once you get passed that what does he have? The nights were curry has bad shooting curry can't score very much, he's not that athletic, hes not even that quick. So please tell me how Curry is better than Kyrie without including his just shot which in all honesty if Kyrie worked at it he could shoot just as good as curry, but hes and unstoppable slasher.

      Ooo So Smooth Curry is a great finisher at the rim, what are you talking about?

    • @ooososmooth284

      Random Wyvern Actually he's gets his shots blocked more often then other guards.

      Ooo So Smooth During Curry's mvp season he shot more shots within 5 ft of the basket and made a higher percentage than Kyrie. When the stats for this season come out I'll post them for you.

      I doubt it, my whole point was that Kyrie was better. But stats don't prove Curry as being better at all, Kyrie is on a team with Lebron who is just a big PG. Kyrie's numbers aren't gonna be as good as Curry's to be so honest. No point guard can put up super Amazing numbers playing along side Lebron.

      Random Wyvern Kyrie still is wayy harder to guard then Curry. To me thats what makes and individual player better.

    How did this video not include his rear hesitation/crossover against curry? That handle is easily the best he's ever done.
