Dear Artists, help us get to 100 subscribers so we can get our RUclips channel 'named' instead of using a long string of letters and numbers. We're getting better at doing videos, stay tuned for more techniques and fun paint-alongs! You can also find us on IG as AEPBenchBlog. Cheers!
I found, what I think is, yellow ochre rock next to a sulfer lake in Pomezia. I ground it to powder and put a few drops of oil, and it was exactly the same as my pallet color. It was a very exciting moment for me. We are such nerds. But they won't teach this in most colleges.
Joseph, be cautious when gathering and grinding soils. That might be sulphur you are grinding up. But, you're right that most schools are not teaching how to make paint from dry soil, mineral or plant materials. Thanks for subscribing! We're planning new How-To videos, stay tuned!
I have not use the colors but I got different ochra colors by scraping off the roch to obtain a fine powder using a pocket knife. It may take longer but the result is a fine powder, and not pebbles to be grounded.
Be careful with your pocket knife! Our dry pigment powders are already at the right particle size to mix into 5 -6 forms of artist paints; watercolor, gouache, egg tempera, oils and pastels. Some may even be used in Fresco!
I sent a message from the website, under "contact us". Fascinating
Hello Fellow Artists! We've posted a new RUclips video on Friday, Jan. 29, '21, filmed in conjunction with the Watercolor LIVE conference! What an outstanding online (virtual) conference that was. Many participants said that they got a better view of the demonstrations, techniques, and heard how the artist "thinks" by following the chat stream which had the demo artist(s) sitting in. Pay attention- the Plein Air LIVE '21 Conference is being announced, shortly. I hope to see you there.
Oh maravilloso vídeo. Gracias desde España 🤗💕
are there suppliers available to nz?
Hi! We can ship to New Zealand. We use US Postal Service Priority Mail International Express, as this is the only service that lets us insure more expensive shipments. It's pricey, but relatively fast and safe. If you want to write us using the contact form on our website (ancientearthpigments.com/contact-us) and let us know what you're thinking of ordering, I can make an estimate of the shipping cost for you. Thanks for your interest!
I wish I lived near you-think we could be good friends...
