  • I wrote a book called Happy Mum, Happy Baby. I was overwhelmed by the amount of emails and messages I received in response. I didn't want the conversation to end there, so I decided to start a podcast where I invited others to share their experiences. It was a huge success, so for series four I wanted to progress things and film it too. So every Tuesday at 5pm I'll be uploading the video footage from the podcast here... I guess that makes it a vidcast, but let's not get too technical.
The series will be a collection of frank and warm conversations with high-profile mums and dads. We'll be discussing all aspects of parenthood - the highs, the lows, the challenges and rewards. There is no such thing as the perfect parent. Instead, we’re all simply doing our best. It’s time to stop comparing ourselves and champion each other instead. Each episode will be truly unique yet unifying. No topic is out of bounds, and I hope the podcast and supporting video will be essential viewing for any parent seeking solidarity and support.
A huge thank you to Fisher-Price for sponsoring both the podcast and these videos.

I listened to the podcast earlier and felt really emotional listening to Katherine speak about her Dad.
When I was 17, I lost my Dad very suddenly to Pulmonary embolism, I'm 42 now and have my own family, and I wish he was still here to be part of our life.
The support and awareness you are bringing to children experiencing grief/loss is amazing, grief counselling wasn't available for kids when I was young, wish it had been.

It would have been nice to hear a Doctor or a teacher or Scientist mummy on your pod cast. How they balance work and life.

Totally relate to the welsh mum thing. I’m a performing arts teacher & I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve come off stage & mum has said “that was good” without adding “but”! It’s kept my feet well & truly on the ground.

Listening from Florida, loving having a bit of home coming through the speakers today - at school it was always "you know Katherine Jenkins came to this school and grew up here right?!". So thank you both!! ❤️

I don’t feel we can have it all. We constantly have guilt, where expected to act like we don’t have children at work (more so in 9-5 jobs) and then at home act like we don’t work. Whether we like it or not we as women naturally take on that main role, for instance me and my partner work full time, he is amazing but he feels no guilt. I always work my hours around her and make sure we have the same days off from nursery. I’m also moving down to part time as I can’t deal with the pain from being away from her and life is too short to not spend these moments with her and I’d regret it if I carry on missing so many memories with her.
