This is bloody brilliant. It addresses a real world issue in such a way as to make both sides look rediculous while simultaneously making the audience think about it. It challenges one's perspective, and I love that.
@@mankyscotchgit4986 did you? But it's a valid question though. What's the biggest fridge that I can have in cubic meters and have there still be an environment? What's the optimum amount of stuff; where's the tipping point?
It's a valid question, and one that environmentalists are already asking. The current estimate is a 1-2% decrease in GDP to avert Climate Change. You could start by having less children. Last year, after you subtract deaths from births, there was a net gain of an additional 80,000,000 new people on planet Earth. It doesn’t matter how many plastic bottles we recycle. Too many people. 🌏
@@LeofromFreo Lots of people already have 1-3 kids. How many less can you have? Hell younger generations are often fully without kids. You need _some_ kids to you know, continue the human race.

I am pretty sure those Particle Accelerators such as the Large Hadron Collider are a BIG cause of climate change and environmental problems considering the amount of electricity consumed yearly. (How do you like that Mrs. Underwood, 2nd grade, for a runon sentence)
This is very clever, because both opposing views in this piece seem equally ridiculous. Maybe we all do have too much stuff and can do with a bit less stuff, but at the same time Jeremy's character's points are all vague nebulous non-specific platitudes with no real practical advice or hard numbers involved. @DrChalkwithering David Mitchel and Robert Webb are the actors. Who's Jeremy?
Cars and indistry are the biggest polluters.
Wow
The sad, but real truth in 3:16. Thanks, Mitchell and Webb, men of our times. If only politicians were as brave, eh?
A bit close to the bone, if this had no laugh track I might be listening intently and nodding my head.
The earth is not at peril. Humans are. The earth has seen worse than the likes of us. Astroids for starters.

Congratulations on your 83rd birthday.

Hell when we get to kids we might have to keep adding years!
