Elzhi is a hidden gem. I laugh at myself when I think back and was mad when he became a member of slum village. Back then I was just mad that dilla left the group and elzhi felt like a replacement. I laugh because I realized along time ago that elzhi was just an addition. Hes one of the best lyricists we got here in detroit.

This is one of the more passionate songs Elzhi has made and one of the better Hip-Hop eulogies, on the same level as Puff Daddy's "Missing You" and Sadistik's "Micheal." This track, "February," was of course dedicated to J Dilla and I know there's been an abundance of tributes to J Dillla (all of which suck terribly similar to all the Nujabes tributes). But, finally, a track that does justice for J. Dilla and from who else, but his teammate in Slum Village...Elzhi! And I never been much of a fan of producer, 14KT, but this instrumental really does help to capture the emotional melancholy of the month that Dilla died, February.
