    My mother died this way at 54, I had one at 40. It’s not a kidding matter and as someone who knows, this is always sad to lose a young person, a father, a mother, a child to a stroke. Thank you editors for making this a teaching moment and for not making this a tabloid highlight. I hope people will learn from this.

      That's really sad about your mom. Did you have any indicators that you were going to have a stroke before it happened?

      My cousin (mid-30's) had one last year...she doesn't smoke and is not overweight. Also, a friend of mine had one in her mid-20's....and an aneurysm. Luckily they both survived.

      My grandmother my father's mother died of a massive stroke. Never regained conscious. I had a mild stroke when I was 54 years old. Since then I take a full aspiring. Is a frightening situation. If that ocurres to me again and more severe, please God take me with you. I do not want to be paralyzed and confined in a bed for the rest of my few years I have here on earth. I do not have children that will take care of me well. They are strange children. No friend nor family. Lord have mercy on me.🛐

    Strokes are so dangerous and very widely misunderstood/not really talked about. My 82 year old grandmother died this month due to a massive stroke as well, never regained consciousness. We need to start taking care of ourselves and watching our health and blood pressure.

    RIP Luke Perry, young people don't understand or know the magnitude and the scale of how hugely popular Luke was and the cast of 90210, that show was mega huge and broke ratings records, ratings you don't see anymore on television unless its the superbowl, 90201 was part of that huge pop-culture era of MTV intertwined and music videos, they presented at MTV awards during the golden era of MTV and won awards, he became pop-culture and a icon who was always compared to 1950s actor James Dean.
    He is part of that big boom golden era of television in the 1980s & 1990's, he became a world wide heartthrob and sex symbol for his 1950's throwback look, very debonar and handsome and extremely humble and down to earth, he never let fame get to his head, he was never seen club hopping and coming out with random thirty chicks, he was a normal guy who stayed loyal to one women and married her and had children, he wasn't your typical good looking hollywood guy who used his looks and image and money to bang everything, he respected himself and was a man who was a focused and a serious actor and very layed back good man. Truly a legit legend and he paid his dues the old fashioned way, pure hard work and struggle, something that is lacking in today's televisions landscape of reality shows, youtube, soundclout, anyone can be famous for being talentless and basic, back than famous people were legtimately talented and amazing actors, singers, dancers, and performers, he is really a legend who had the longevity and decades on his belt, everyone throws that word legend around so freely now, you are not a legend when you only have 10 or 18 years on your belt. A real legend has 20 years and up to be a true real legend and Luke Perry has a 33 year career, he is a real GOAT.
    He will forever be known as the legendary Dillon from 90210. My he RIP 1966-2019) what a loss he was one of the good ones, and still young, well know you that old saying & classic lyric in that song..." Only the Good die young" couldn't fit him more perfectly. God speed Luke and god bless your children and family. ❤❤

      Seeing our family members as well as our role models/generational icons/childhood heros age and decline and pass away really brings it home.
      I used to work out for vanity when in teens and twenties.
      Now it is for health and quality of life.

      It's a terrible thing to suffer from! My childhood friend, who had a lot of cardiovascular disease in her family line, almost lost her 8-year-old son to a stroke! He survived but with severe handicaps, a normal and active boy, eating a healthy diet /not overweight, who of course didn't smoke! 8 years later, the boy's mother / my friend died suddenly and unexpectedly from heart failure, and she was only in her 40's... Healthy mum, a non-smoker, not overweight, the sporty type. But if it rans in your family (genes) what can you do? Scary stuff….I have very low blood pressure, so hopefully no strokes for me - but cancer is rampant in my family so I feel :((( sometimes.

      @sarahgreen3663 5 лет назад +3

      I'm not going to lie.. I thought he looked unhealthy. I'd been watching Riverdale and had thought he looked a bit aged and older than his 52 years. I mean idk if they tried to make him look that way for the show but I always thought, other than his hair, he looked closer to 70 than 50 (not in a negative way just a personal observation). And compared to his co-star Skeet Ulrich i thought he looked much older as well (although maybe Skeets younger idk)..
      Well, devastating anyways. Very sad. I'm sorry for his family and those he left behind :(

    He looked very fatigued. Very. He hadnt aged well...appeared stressed. We don't know how his diet was, we dont know if he was smoking, but i think he still was. Sure he was thin, but just simply appeared fatigued. Lack of sleep and too much work/stress can be contributing factors to a stroke. Dont smoke, eat your greens, kale, spinach, consume raw garlic, take in whole grains and tons of fiber...and invest in your GUT. Everything starts there. Buy a decent prebiotic and probiotic. Be active. Dont eat bad carbs, instead eat good carbs like sweet potatoes and Quinoa. Take in FISH OILS! EPA/DHA. All these are excellent measures preventative to prevent a stroke and heart attack. RIP Luke Perry.

      @ceecc3108 5 лет назад +1

      Weight is not the primary factor, but it still does play a role in good health. Yes u don't have to be thin to be free of strokes. But being overweight doesn't help either. It hieghtens the risk dramatically.

      Death is a natural part of life, at over 50 I have seen many celebrities die. I know as time progresses, the celebrities I grew up with will.die from.old.age, diseases, health crisis, accidents and more. It's saddest when these public figures die, Young, from accidents, from drugs, etc Some of these things do not have to happen which is also sad. These things happen with people.in our personal lives as well, and because we can form an.emotional bond through public figures due to the emotional impact of their, acting, art, music, impacts from their political legislation, and even positivr changes in our own lives due to being inspired by them. Making changes in our lifestyles can help protect us from such things as strokes, but death is inevitable and a part of life; and it makes is appreciate the life we have, our experiences in life, and those we care for.

    AVM ( arterial venus malformation) are some of the rare cause for hemorrhagic strokes and can happen at any age. Just less than 300,000 cases are reported in the US. These are congenital and is very rare to find out you have it. They can also be located in any part of the brain. My husband suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke on the brain stem 3 years ago. He was super healthy, physically active and normal weight, blood pressure etc. This was unexpected and sudden. He survived against all odds. His disabilities are extensive but didn't lose his cognition abilities. He is truly a miracle.. We will be celebrating his 60th birthday this year .

I know people young as 40 get strokes and die... it can happen to any age. You have to really take care of yourself as much as you can, exercise/ lose weight, eat a balanced diet, keeping an eye on salty foods which can be a factor to high blood pressure. There's so many things, it can happen to anybody but preventative measures first better to be safe than sorry.

      Food is a major problem
      Processed foods Salts fats sugars chemicals
      Red meats most all meats
      Dairy is very high in sodium
      Yea,Milk is very high in sodium..so cheeses are worse..icecream thats full.of sugars and fats
      Resturant food even the best high in sodium
      Smoking is not great but breathing in pollution from cars buses trucks emits poisonous gases and pollutentents.
      There's also Genetics.
      So it could be any number of reasons
      You can't blame one thing

    Blaming weight for everything is what kills people. Fat don’t mean unhealthy. The biggest key is knowing the symptoms. If you are a person who rarely have headaches and you have a headache that is going nowhere. Then you go to the emergency room. Do not wait any longer. You have a 2 hr window to which thromboletics can help reverse stroke. So that headache you feel is a migraine could be a stroke.

      Really...are you a doctor....what about being genetically predisposed for strokes?
      The abstinence of meats only reduce cholesterol.....if you have no problem with cholesterol then you dont have a risk of stroke, only if you smoke!!!! So only people that have higher cholesterol need to reduce the meat intake, red meats specifically!
