Well, thank you very much for your very kind feedback. I really do appreciate you watching my video. The weight can vary depending on the formulation of your mixture, but just using the regular store-bought premix mortar that I used in these videos I think the rocks came out around 40 pounds. And yes these rocks can take a lot of weight and will last a long long time they’re very secure and structural.
Remember, it’s best to leave that on for an hour or so and let it dry just a little bit you’ll get a better texture. Don’t forget not to leave it on overnight. It’s a bugger to get off.
I’ve been looking for information on building decorative rock like this for a while. I am too old to move the real thing even though I’m pretty good with Egyptian technology

@@fauxrock you should increase your rates. How many players are in the faux rock making biz. I’d say 60-90$ a sq/ft is still reasonable for your skill level , also if there’s some added color and hydro seal. Thanks for sharing your craft.
To create a smoother texture, you would do two things one use a finer sand to make your mix a little more liquid. To make a mix that will create a rougher texture use larger size, sand, and dryer mix the thicker the mix the more coarse the texture becomes. Thanks for watching my video.
Yes, using the tinfoil the manner that you suggested could be done. keep in mind that there are a lot of alternative processes and formulations to augment this current methodology being shown. My three day hands-on class is typically $1650 that also purchase the 15 day synthetic rock Dvd training course as well plus ongoing tech-support . That’s a great way to keep blackberries from spreading (surrounding them with your faux rocks). As someone who has lived around blackberries I know they will continue to expand their territory if not blocked or regularly cut back, and the bigger their territory gets the more likely they are to become a place for rodents to infest, better to keep a small controlled patch.

There’s a lot of different manufactures for the glue that we use but it’s important that you get a glue that’s 100% water based acrylic. As for the cross on my rock wall... Yes my savior is Jesus Christ. I appreciate both you watching my videos, giving good feedback and admiring the cross.

There’s 12 main techniques to staining rock... yes integral color is widely utilized in this industry, I prefer to stain the rock after it is built and dry. I use 100 percent acrylics to make a penetrating stain. Thanks for watching my videos

Heres a idea. Why not built a handle for the grinding wheel. All you need is a long screw a washer and dowel or a square piece of wood. It would make hold that wheel all kinds of easy.

WTF is a “briggler?” And where TF do you get certification? Because tinkerer is the closest definition I can find that makes sense and I don’t know where to get tinkerer certification, but would like to know where and how…. and if that ain’t it I want to know what you’re doing….

Briggling came to US from NW europe/Brittania; it is learned at the foot of Master Brigglers, as an internship. I learned from my Irish GF years ago. Good luck learning to briggle.

Working on a rock now and will try your aluminum foil technique. Also like the grinding wheel to smooth down.
