Landcare in the Philippines highlights the success of community-based, farmer-led organizations in disseminating conservation farming practices and sustainably managing local natural resources. This Landcare movement began in Claveria, an upland community in Mindanao, and has been spreading in many other communities in the Philippines. The video demonstrates the significant contributions that farmers can make, through their own self-governing organizations, in promoting sustainable agriculture, and in tapping outside sources of information, technical support, and financial resources for their efforts. It emphasizes the mutually beneficial link that has evolved between the Landcare movement and the local government.
Produced By: World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF)*
    Financial support from:
Cornell International Institute for Food, Agriculture and Development (CIIFAD)
United States Agency for International Development (USAID)
Agencia Española De Cooperacion Internacional (AECI)
    1995
To more fully reflect our global reach, as well as our more balanced research and development agenda, we adopted a new brand name in 2002 'World Agroforestry Centre'. Our legal name -- International Centre for Research in Agroforestry -- remains unchanged, and so our acronym as a Future Harvest Centre -- ICRAF -- likewise remains the same.

DA and DENR should promote Food Forestry, a branch of Permaculture that gives maximum yield with minimum input. No need for fertilizers and irrigation, yet yielding the most natural and nutritious crops.
