Scott's awesome. Anthrax and SOD are legendary. Persistence Of Time is one of my favorite albums of all time. Great interview. Speaking of Kiss, if you think about it, it wasn't till their 4th album Alive! that they broke through and found some mainstream success. Before that they were a cult band. No way would a major record label allow a band to release that many albums before hitting it big these days unfortunately. Love that Scott mentions Siege. Great band. Jeff Walker from Carcass citing them as an influence made me check em out. There's a great vid of Siege on RUclips where it looks like they're playing in a school gym or something with a random American flag in the background. It's as raw as it gets.
Funny that Scott mentions the T-shirt thing. Back in the Summer of 1987 Anthrax played The Cameo Theater in Miami and he was rockin' a Public Enemy shirt. From there my friends and I searched about them and heard 'Bring The Noise' on the Less than Zero Soundtrack. From there a guy I worked with at a Pizzeria in Lantana, Florida lent me Yo! Bum Rush The Show and it was on ever since.
missed the live show again, but the re-run was great. I've been attending an ongoing, free concert series, Sundays, in San Francisco's Stern Grove. This week it was modern R&B Grammy winning virtuoso bassist, ThunderCat. The next one will be Tower of Power and Too $hort on the 29th...
@@stonefilmsnyc hell yeah brother. I noticed he has left a few podcasts early. So I understand he's a busy guy. But you are right you haven't even scratched the surface with what you want to talk about.... S.o.d.! Keep doing a fantastic job Mr Stone, much love from Canada!
Bro I love this channel, I am from Bflo NY and grew up in the Bflo death metal scene. Thank you for your work as I am learning a lot about the scene from back in the day. Do you Suffication was influenced by the early Hardcore shows in the city?
@@stonefilmsnyc Oops sorry, do you think Suffocation was influenced by NYHC? I think they influenced a lot of deathcore, which I don’t care for Maybe it is a stupid question! Also will you be interviewing Billy Milano?
@@danewing4658 Most NYDM bands were influenced by hardcore, they even adopted the logo. Bands like Internal Bleeding, Pyrexia, Skinless etc. were all hardcore kids playing death metal.
@@eaglebauer944 OK thanks for that. I was a drummer in a DM band from Queens and I wish the scene was like the old days that they always talk about. The DM scene in Buffalo NY was close to that in the late 80’s early.90’s. Then Cannibal Corpse moved to Florida and it died!!
Anthrax has no business using the NYHC symbol or the Pentagram. Has nothing to do with both. Just like he said. Never was in a squat. Black Metal got big now you see them using a Pentagram on their album cover to be relevant. Basically STOLEN VALOR
Fantastic interview ! Great follow up to Anthrax's 40 docs .A slice of music History
Thanx Ralph.
Definitely a great show Drew! Scott has to come back for a Part 2! Much more needs to be covered. 👊💀
Agreed
Absolutely, you know there's some more great stories. His book is highly recommended. Great 138. Cheers y'all
Awesome stuff , thank you !!!
Among the living still a gem to me all these years later!!
Great show as always! Thank You Drew!
1st Anthrax I bought was the Armed and Dangerous ep. I was in love instantly.
The flyer for the skating rink cracked me up with Free Birthday cake. That would be awesome!
Looking fwd to watch this while at work this week.

Excellent.🤘
Much respect for acknowledging Paul D'ianno.
As good as Bruce is, ...
Paul was the soul of Maiden.
Paul's awesome. Those first 2 Maiden albums are all time classics. Phantom Of The Opera is my favorite Maiden song.
@@SuperStrik9 Killers for me all day!!
From one Jew to another / phenomenal! Scott’s great!
Hahahaha Fantastic!
Awesome interview! Can’t wait for the Hazard interview.
Soon!
Scott Ian is awesome
Dang, I missed this live and can't read along with the chat. Maybe it'll show up later. Thumbs up anyway, Scott's a riff master.
Didn't Charlie write all those riffs?
31:00 Talking about the Misfits during episode.... 138!!!
Hahahah i didn't catch that.
Anthrax is amazing
Nice show
Scott is the nicest person in the metal world.
I nearly choked to death on the missiles from that Cylon ship.

I have Scott Ian’s audiobook
NY has great hardcore punk bands, Urban Waste, Antidote..some of the most iconic bands in that genre.
Judge?
