This was so so so helpful! i've had a major hissing sound in my videos and i couldnt find a way to get rid of it, but your settings have been a huge help. i tested the audio today and i dont have the annoying hissing on my audio anymore!! thank you so much!
Okay then. I'm definitely getting the Wireless Go now. I've seen several reviews but they just got the bullet points; it's never detailed and thorough like you, Eric.
I was given a M50 and was struggling with the settings for an external mic. So pleased I found this video because you helped me understand the settings and no I know exactly what to do. Thanks for a great instructional video!
Man, best video I've seen on this topic. Short and to the point! You answered my exact questions. Just got the m50 and ordered the rode just like yours, to make vids online. Thanks again!!
Nicely done. This is information I was looking for. I don't think I mind the square box mic look since I usually have dirty outdoor tractor work clothes on so the box wont detract from my appearance. I haven't decided what kind of microphone to get for my M50 M2. I'm quite new to the field since I've been using a fairly cheap set-up for several years. The M50 M2 is a big step-up for me so I'm looking to have a little better quality sound as well. I appreciate your thoroughness in details since that helps me make a sound decision (no pun intended). Enjoyed a full-watch of your video. Have a fine week. 👍🏽🙂
Very informative, TTP. Thanks for sharing. Ive been thinking about a wireless setup before I head over to the Philippines to retire, and your video answered some questions I had.
This was such a bomb review. I have been researching cameras and mics, etc to start a RUclips yoga channel, and this answered a lo of questions for me! Thank you!
Hi fellow yogi! I started my channel back in May and bought the Cannon M50 and use the Rode mics and really happy with them. It's sooooooo much work but now that I took the scary step to creating I am so glad I did. It's not about being perfect it's just about putting one foot in front of the other!
I’m having a strange issue where even if the audio isn’t clipping in the camera (camera pre amp low and not hitting red), the wireless go still sounds distorted. My audio levels in final cut are low, but the audio is distorted. Now if I change the output on the Wireless Go transmitter you the lowest setting, there is no distortion, but the level is even lower. The middle setting on the transmitter has a little distortion, but not as bad as high. It’s really making me scratch my head, and maybe the unit itself is just broken. Have you noticed this or had any issue with it? Thanks for the video!
Strangest thing is I have a 5D changed the settings on the camera to manual, plug Mic the camera but still it's using the camera Mic. To confirm this switching the Mic off with cables of external Mic still plugged in but still seeing levels from camera Mic.
I purchased the Cannon SL3 but it doesn't work well with the Rode wireless mic, there is a lot of static noise. I have adjusted the record settings as others have suggested and it doesn't work. Does anyone know if the M50 has the same problem? Also, how long is the battery life on the M50 in video mode? Thanks.
I did all you did , I’m suing the red cable but nothing , when the go records , has a red dot 🔴 means is recording , I do record a video in my canon mark m50 II with the microphone rode go , using cable but. I thing
We have the new IDOLCAM VlogStar V2 shotgun/Lavalier microphone in one, small size, perfect for M50, can we send you one for the next mic review you are doing?
Helpful but the dB on my Rode wireless GO 2... goes from -0 to -30 but goes up in 3s so what number would be best 😊 because you had +12dB & that sounded good 👍🏻
