I like how humble he is, even though he is smoking hot, and he must know it. And I like that his real teeth are slightly irregular, like his character's. The American obsession with perfectly symmetrical teeth drives me insane. Tom Cruise's gap-toothed smile was easily the sexiest thing about him, and I almost cried when he corrected it. Here's hoping Picking keeps his.
I love this Jake but I promise you, I hated Tom Cruise even with imperfect or perfect teeth. I never saw why people were into him. He always looked like a hustler who would do anything to.......oh, maybe that’s it. 😳
@@rcampbell5137 I have come to find him icky as a person, though I still respect him as an actor. But, you know, Hollywood is built on favors exchanged, sexual and otherwise. It is the nature of the beast. It is how many talented people got their first break.
He was a high point of the show. To see this strikingly handsome, chisel faced man play someone so earnest and unsure and seeking love and approval. It was a moving performance. Great acting job, Jim!!!!
He played Roy as ‘dim witted’ Rock. Or, maybe Roy really was a ‘hay seed’ as Jim Parsons called him in the show. I adored Rock even more after I found after he was gay. And, boy Jim Parsons did an amazing job. So hateful of a character.
While I certainly enjoyed watching "Hollywood," the whole imposition of 2020 Woke Culture on what was supposed to be happening in 1948 was really nasty on several levels. The worst part is the "I'm your hero from 2020" attitude so egotistically implying that if only I was back there I could have saved all of these people - I'm so wonderful!!!
@@chasenip2 No unfortunately Hollywood's storyline does NOT conform to the paradigm of "what if" scenarios. For example many historians have speculated what would have happened if the Continental Army had been beaten by the British. That's a realistic question that deserves serious consideration. Wondering what would have happened if George Washington had the atom bomb is an idiotic game that has no significance whatsoever - which is exactly what occurs in Hollywood. Imposing the politically correct language of 2020 on 1948 is sociopathic as it completely negates the individuality and life experience of people who lived in that era. It's nothing more than the egotistical ramblings of emotionally retarded modern-day writers who don't even have a sense of how they came to have their own viewpoints!

People must know that these series are a soap opera; it doesn’t represent the real Hollywood from post War. Even they had taken lots of freedoms; Jake Picking a soulless and quite average actor assumes the character of Rock Hudson. Picking did a good job for a a total fake Hudson. In the late 40s and until his dead nobody knew that Hudson was gay. In this « show » the script makes Picking be an openly homosexual character. Who had a love affair with a black writer; which obviously in real life was completely false. So they made a new Hollywood story to make happy some people ( LGBTQ People, it’s openly propaganda for these guys) and upset many others, such as historians, real fílmakers and survivors from Hollywood Golden Age [just passed one of the greatest Olivia de Havilland] all those who love the true story; not this absurd médiocre fiction. I must recognize that some of the actors are excellent. The script is totally absurd and full of lies. The woman who assumed the role of Vivien Leigh is simply awful and not even the shade of that magnificent actress. Darren Criss is fantastic as usual, one of the best actors of his generation. I must say, chapeau for him and others who did a great job. It is worth to watch it on Netflix, but remember this isn’t a true story; has a political agenda for LGBTQ lobby, they have lots of influence in Hollywood since 2000 at least.
