你 好 老师. I am felling very happy from your video because your teaching way is extremely good. I really appreciate to your videos. Mam you are very helpful teacher and your video given help to understand many concept in chinese language. Mam i am student of chinese language from india. Thanku so much mam. 😊 谢谢 老师. 👍😊
I think a good example of "tones" in English to compare with Chinese are the words dessert (dez-URT) and desert (DEZ-urt). Like a lot of Chinese words, the pronunciation is the same, but the accent you put on it, like a tone, makes it a totally different word.
Hi JEn,Greetings from Sydney NSW Australia. I liked your tone examples. Comparing them to English especially. There are tones in English and the way you emphasise the words you can change the meaning of a phrase. One example in English! are the many ways you can say "i love you". By changing the tone you can say "i love you" when you actually mean " i hate you". English (Australian, American, British, Canadian, South Afrikan and New Zealanders )people are not aware they are using tones. and there is no formal teaching that i know of to tell them they are using tones.
This was so helpful and well explained! For the longest time I’ve had a bad stigma that Chinese is Overly extremely hard to learn mainly because of the Tonal system, but now that I can distinguish tones it’s just that bit easier (well a lot really). Thank you! 💕
Thanks a lot for the lesson! This is extremely useful! Actualy it's my first video on your chanel😀Without doubt you've a new subscruber. Greetings from Russia, thank you (спасибо(spacibo))
i just started to learn chinese all by myself for about 2 weeks and im kinda have a problem about the tone pronouncing. when we talk in chinese, are the tones should be heard clearly as well? cuz i think its kinda hard to maintain its tones while having a conversation😥
I recommend this video to you: ruclips.net/video/KDQgKxuRJM4/видео.html The young lady tells a short story first at a slow pace, and then she repeats the story at a faster pace. You can tell that the tones are maintained even when the Chinese is spoken more quickly. Follow the story, but don't worry about the translation. Just listen to the pronunciation and try to repeat what she says immediately after she says it. Doing this helped me massively! Through practising the pronunciation, your brain 'integrates" the words with their tones, and they become as one. Combine that with Jen's teaching and you will learn quickly. I hope that helps 👍
I hate tone videos. It is always explained the same way, but it is impossible to speak like this at full speed. English tones are much slower and farther apart in speech. I feel like I am hurting myself trying to vary all the tones with every word.
第三声你教的不好啊!You explained 3rd tone badly. I think it is bad to teach new learners to Chinese like this. In a sentence in a natural talking rhythm, it will not be so long and it will not rise like that. Lots of learners get told "you said it wrong, you said 2nd tone" by native speakers, because of the bad teaching of 3rd tone. It should be the lowest pitch of the throat, and it shouldn't rise like that. For example 喜 in 喜欢 should be a short syllable and lowest pitch.
you're so pleasant in the literal sence, your explanation so plain and so convenient at the same time
谢谢老师 😁 I appreciate your videos. I struggle with tones.
