i am aware that there is ment to be a 300mm gape between the edge of the pipe and the edge of trench wall. How ever all the work i do is hourly hire, i am i can only do as the client wants so long as it is safe to do.
I’m sure laying pipe is done different all over the world but in the Midwest we always put pipe bedding under the pipe unless you are in sand and we dig the ditch wide enough so there is room for a wacker and usually wack it up to spring line that way you won’t have settlement and the pipe won’t move around
Not Bashing your job, but I was on a Pipeline, this must not be in the US, I don't see a Grade Line or any Gravel on the bottom, plus after the pipe is laid the Ditch isn't wide enough, there's always Gravel dumped over the pipe half way up or all til covered, are you using a Laser for Grade

10 minutes to dig that little hole and havent even checked grade yet. Thats pretty slow guy. Smooth and all that type of shit rookies concern themselves about but slow. After you had your track dirt built up behind you why did you keep swinging to the end of your spoils pile? Swing just enough to clear the ditch with the dirt and dump, it doesnt matter how tall it gets as long as it doesnt come back in the ditch. Otherwise your eventually gonna out run your reach with your spoils pile.

dont you use bedding gravel ? we use "pipe bedding" from 4" clay pipe upto 2000mm concrete pipe....
