I've seen too many whitligigs to just act like it's normal. Plus, Duty seems more about recruiting people and saving them rather than just "kill everyone who disagrees with us." they're actually pretty good.

The problem with the faction wars is that after you capture the main base of a faction, enemy NPCs will still spawn in the base, usually in great numbers and will easily kill the few allied NPCs that decided to populate the captured base. Saw this happening many times with different factions.
Yeah it's completely intended.
I think it's made this way so that the player can't drive a particular faction extinct
@@Dimitri-tq8ti I don't mind respawning but have them do it in a different location, having them move towards the base and not spawn *right* in the base, killing allied NPCs before they have a chance to react...
@@P9HL2BETA actually there's a way to wipe completely some factions in the game. The NPCs spawn in specific locations marked by the game, for example: the depot on the garbage, or the barricades to agroprom. The way to stop the NPCs spawning, is that other NPCs platoons (or mutants) take that specific point.
In my last Clear Sky game, I wipe Duty and Bandits completely. After I kill all of duty on agroprom, red forest and the army warehouses, and making sure Freedom platoons were all agroprom, duty didn't spawned again on the game.
The most difficult was the bandits, but I managed to do it as well, I just killed every bandit on the depot, the garbage, and on agroprom; and with some luck of the RGN saw that mutants went to the depot, and that make the job. The PDA was showing there was only 1 force from the bandits, but I'm pretty sure it was the one on Limansk
I saw a bloodsucker killing off the whole loners base in Agroprom. But since it is not headquarters they didn't respawn :(
I can see why Yoga was an unpopular faction leader: he placed his boys in the middle of everyone's fire
Honestly, the cannon ending for CS imo is taking parts with loners and freedom.
In soc loners more or less hold the garbage, despite bandits attacks

Maybe, but I don't think so. Almost half a year past between the two games, so a lot of things could have happened. There is no reason for those things to happen in Clear Sky, and then nothing happening until Shadow of Chernobyl starts.
@@anomalousdugout9557 Its all player choice so its not cannon I have a theory that duty left cuz they made a treaty with the army and mercs came back and took down freedom base and gave it to the bandits
Remember when a stalker said that borov is into some big stuff well thats one hell of a proof and lab key too bandits left the garbage so the few who stayed got whooped
I actually agree with you and in some capacity so does the wiki. The betrayal of the commandant at freedom likely compromised their base and borov made a move, seeing as the army warehouses were secured and much better equipped plus closer to untouched areas with artifacts freedom moved and on top of that it also explains why there is a Merc outpost in the north west of. Army warehouses. Additionally no mention of rostok is given. Rostok and the wild area aren't even a zone in CS. Duty moved to rostok after the emissions became more violent and like lebedev said "scrambled" territories and anomalies/cut off paths that were once safe, agroprom and surrounding area became irrelevant to duty when freedom moved closer to the center of the zone. Loners pushed bandits out and borov usurped yoga and moved for dark valley and he likely spent his last movements trying to retake garbage. Bandits fractured into borov's dark valley and splinter groups in cordon and agroprom. Strelok blew up the tunnels that bypassed brain scorcher in an attempt to evade scar... This is why he has to shut it off in SoC. I'm hoping stalker 2 will take us back to limansk.

Join Monolith, kill both and have no remorse but love towards our holy Monolith.
I'm still sad that you can't permanently join Clear Sky. After you take the swamps from the Renegades and leave it, you'll not be part of Clear Sky anymore
But Clear Sky is like in a great secret, so they can't filly accept a guy walking around the zone, he could make everyone aware of them and it would mean the end of the Clear Sky since they don't have too much forces.
I reccomend staying neutral with the bandits until you fully upgrade the SEVA suit, then do what you want
Yeah, that's a good move if you want the best SEVA.
That was always always my play. I'd have the tech in train hanger ("Hey Sasha, wake up, you bum!) do the last upgrade, and then I'd kill all of the bandits in the hanger. Good times.
I didn't know that until I wanted to fully upgrade the suit.
So I decided the edit the config file to give the flash drive to the Freedom tech. So he can do the upgrade himself.
you can upgrade the seva suit all the way until the final upgrade without the bandits, and im its still more than enough to beat the game comfortably. seva with all upgrades except the final one is still head and shoulders above others imo
I ended up joining both the Bandits and Freedom in one playthrough. The GP 37 and Freedom Exo proved worth it in the later parts of the game.
Interseting, I never tried to do that.

The bandits are the most difficult faction but also the most rewarding; all those defence objectives from duty and loner, not to mention the loot you can sell from them can make you big money, not to mention the bandit technician limpid is able to fully max out an Exo-Skeleton as well as a SEVA suit, I always joined them and became filthy rich quick, I also enjoyed constantly destroying the Loners and invading Duty for funsies

I have actually managed to wipe out duty completely while playing as freedom, you have to go to every location and kill them all and in the end you go to their base and kill the rest. The stop respawning after you kill the last guys in the base
you have to take over the base alone then let people of that faction move back in and then atack with your faction to completely take over the base

So I have to wait at an enemy base for an hour after I destroy their base to actually capture it?
@@matthewjones39 it depends how long it takes for your faction too decide to atack the enemy base
1. Take over the base alone
2. Wait for the mission to take over enemy base to pop up again
3. Rush over too help the new group to take over base
And that should be it it worked vs duty and the bandits im not sure about freedom and loners
But yea it will probobly take an hour for the enemys to respawn and a new group to atack the main base

I've done every faction war in cs and damn i loved it but the best was freedom's (for the exo skeleton which can be very useful in limansk)

I had the battle of my life against the bandits. I killed many of them, saved the game many times and in the end I was bleeding and carrying my loot. I almost didn't make it because they were back really fast and in a really large number.
I did join the bandits before completing yantar. I can confirm it is possible to do the mission, but you basically have to try over and over to bug your way thru the mission without getting killed by the stalkers xD

I usualy stay loner, but often chose freedom
I thought joining bandits would be fun, but i never managed to fight my way out of garbage and i eventually gave up. Its relentless. Duty/freedom was very easy. Both factions seemed to accomplish everything without me doing much of anything while with bandits i was the only one doing anything
Joining bandits is pretty rough yeah.
the weird think is that i always join freedom because i like freedom so i killed every duty sqad on the map so every duty member was in their main base and then i attacked on the main base and then there was no duty member and they dint spawn i did go across the whole map and nothing they just dint spawn they dissapeared i dont know if it to everyone cause my friend did it and they spawned funny
Yeah, sometimes weird things can happen in the game. I'm pretty sure they are supposed to respawn, maybe it was a bug...

i joined the duty and now im trapped in red forest trying to kill freedom millitaries i dont have any first aid kit and any anti rads and they are too strong they always throw grenades at me and i die can u pls telll me how to fix it?

checkhov Quest to find the PDA is broken In my game, only gun spawned , not corps ..the PDA is supposed to be on one of the corps. i have one backup save like 5 hours before...what can i do ?
So if I join Duty, I'll just prolong the inevitable and die in Army Warehouses. If I join Freedom, all I gotta do is deal with Duty Squad after Duty Squad in the Red Forest, then diddly my way through Army Warehouses, Limansk and then to the CNPP.
I remember conquering freedom base as duty, but they respawn again, and I think it didn't count as a victory, maybe one of them was hiding somewhere, so it didn't count as a win
Yeah, dont leave until the radio message confirms you took over the base. Also if you cant see anyone around, bring up the PDA and they should show up as a red dot
I have the problem that I captured both exits of the garbagde, thing is the freedom people won't take the upper point, so the quest there stays open, which means they won't push into dutys map...
Many of the objectives from the faction wars can bug. That's why completing it requires a lot of patience.
so now i actually join the Loners ( i joined a week ago lul) because it's very uh cool ( not very) and i like killing bandits in stalker anomaly but yes Duty too me kinda uh meh but nevermind. Loner is life Loner is ♥️

How do mechanics like faction squad, resources, and strength bars even affect gameplay? You'd think the higher they go the more better weapons and population a faction would have. I mean in my playthrough the Stalkers are at their peak yet Cordon is overrun with mutants of all things.
Resources (acquired by capturing certain posts) impact what kinds of NPCs (differing rank and equipment) will spawn for that faction.
Joining the mercs was my dream since ShoC.

Then Clear Sky is made for you I guess.
Technically you are a Merc in Clear Sky if you are aren't in faction :)

my depot mission is broken it says wait for others loner to come and they will get stuck or capture another outpost even tho they are right next to the depot
The factions wars can bug a lot. In that case you either need to be patient or to load a previous quicksave.

Dont join freedom or duty too much trouble fight as loner or bandit it is much easier and it is better to access both big factions

I'm pretty sure you can join Duty or Freedom after being a Loner, but not 100% certain, sorry.

There is not really a best faction, it's up to you really. The easiest way is to not join any faction at all, while the hardest way is to join the bandits.

Is it possible to completely wipe out a faction? For example, joining Duty and killing all Freedom, and taking Freedom base for Duty?
You can completely wipe out Bandits and Duty.
With Bandits it is very simple, just capture their base with Loners, then kill remnants on other locations and you will got 0 Bandits. With Duty is harder, but the same way - capture their base with Freedom, then kill few squads you meet during your playthrough on the main quest and Duty will be also 0.
With Loners and Freedom it's not possible. Loners have multiple spawnpoints that Bandits are unable to capture. And Duty for some reason, when you capture Freedom's base, doesnt take the building where is Freedom's spawnpoint, they capture another building next to it, so Freedom's squads will be constantly spawning.
I remember, in my playthrough I made a literally stalker's paradise: 0 Bandits, 0 Duty, Freedom and Loners controlling everything, a complete peace in the Zone, only danger remained is mutants except few Renegades squads on the Swamp, few Monolith squads on the Military and few Military squads on the Cordon. However, in that case, when spawnpoints of Duty and Bandits are captured, game starts spawning mutants much more actively.

@@mb77mb66 Yeah, I played Clear Sky the most. Because, you know, this chapter with the Faction War are the most challenging, you really need tactics and management of your money and ammunition. Plus, it's truely feels like you are a member of a faction in a war for survival in the Zone, not just doing some quests for some dudes in colourful clothes, who most of the time sit on their asses and trashtalk about each other.
@@user-hr6ly9ep7t Nice. I never had to manage in Clear Sky, as you can take all looted rifles to the Swamps to Clear Sky trader and get a lot of cash, much more than other traders. I steal rifle scope right from the start, upgrade a pistol and shotgun and whole game is breeze :)

I'm pretty sure you are automatically reset back to mercenary as soon as you enter Cordon. That's what the wiki says, and I can't remember one time where it did not do that in my playthroughs.

God, faction war as a Freedom is a bitch. Whenever Freedom wankers decide to actually move into Agroprom, they constantly get mowed down my exoskeleton Duty members with PKMs because for some reason, Freedom troops are armed with 74Us at best
Clear Sky literally don't want me to play it, my first run my save crashed, the second one my game crashes everytime i load the game :D
Eh I know those troublrs... Try patching with all six patches. Alternative is to use a mod which gives you control over items, some spawner mod, can help a lot

And there ist more Faktions like the Scientist. And Ecolog.
You can't join the Renegades, or any other factions than those shown in the video. At least without mods.
There is NO "ecologist" party inSTALKER Clear sky. The "ecologist" from STALKER SOC are here the "scientiests" party. PERIOD. They just changed their door tag.

The best way to play would have been (but is not possible unfortunately) to join LONERS (stalkers) to take the Bubble artefact, then Duty (or Freedom), to grab those two body armors and then to switch to FREEDOM (or Duty) to take that exoskeleton. But if you choose one , the other becomes enemy and once become enemy there is no way back. Unfortunately.
