    Don't give up on your first try! The first time I made this origami, I ended up with a crumpled piece of paper. The second time, the flower was lopsided and didn't even look like a rose. By the sixth time today, I made a rose that Im really proud of and I do not regret all the hours I spent watching this video and learning how to make this origami. So please guys, don't give up-- it takes practice;)

    The finished model is so amazing that I decided to give my girlfriend a dozen of these flowers, each folded out of a piece of sheet music, and in the middle I hid a little red origami heart. I hope she likes it!

      Michaella Fairbairn Some sheet music doesnt have to be for reading and playing. Sheet music gets ripped and teared all the time. Music is an art. So why not make art out of the sheets.

    For anyone who's confused about the folds he starts to make at around 19:00 --
    Another way you could do that fold is to do it while the paper's completely flat, after you have finished the other creases but before you have started any collapsing of the model. Looking from the back side of the paper, you have 5 triangles. A vertical line does through the middle of each triangle. There's a vertical line to the right of that middle vertical line. You want to make a vertical mountain crease (from the back perspective) 2/3 of the way from the middle vertical to the right vertical. You don't want to crease it all the way up to end of the triangle though...just crease it until you get to the inner diagonal crease of the triangle.

    • @soxnation1000
      @soxnation1000 8 лет назад

      I think making this fold beforehand makes the model a bit easier to collapse.

    • @infiresmaaan4360
      @infiresmaaan4360 6 лет назад

      that's where I got confused too. Though I don't think that line really matters. You can just figure it out as you collapse each layer

      When you fold 1/3rd, the folded part is the same size as the unfolded bit at top. When you fold 1/4th, the folded bit is half the size of the unfolded paper. Just a simple tip. Hopefully someone sees this and finds it helpful.

    Hi! I really liked this origami rose, but I'm having issues trying to find a good brand of paper that can stand the multiple folds. I tried tant paper but it was still hard to keep a good and nice shape of the rose and I was wondering if this is due to the fact that I was using a 15x15cm sheet instead of a 30x30cm like you show in the video. I would really appreciate if you could share with me the paper that you used to make this rose.

    Only by 'watching' a quarter way through the video and I feel like that it is impossible and too much effort/too confusing for me to make this.

    That looks absolutely perfect. It's a little involved, but it's the best model I've seen so far, and it's the one I'm gonna make, not matter how many tries it takes. :)
    Thanks for sharing.
