I`ve been training in the Bujinkan since 2004... I came from a Aiki Jutsu background.. 2004,s training theme was Gyokko Ryu... So adapting to the Bujinkan wasn`t that hard,I`m not at all saying it was easy... Cause I got used the body of Gyokko Ryu,that it was hard to not move in the Gyokko Ryu style. Especially when trying to learn the different Ryuha... As far as not doing the waza in a Gyokko Ryu style..lol But back to my original point..lol I`ve combined Aiki Jutsu ,with Tai Jutsu and I call it,Aiki Tai Jutsu... Both compliment each other and make up for, what the other lacks...

I like the emphasis on training slow. Better for muscle memory.

Really like this. Only started watching you yesterday very addictive. Regarding a semi skilled grappler or a semi skilled
boxer what application would be used to combat someone who could retract their hands as quick as you could try to grab them. So in other applying a similar technique but the hands being much harder to get hold of.

Thanks for the question, John. Answer coming soon in a Q and A video. Has been answered several times in other past videos, but worth revisiting.

I enjoy watching your videos but I love when they grab. it insures they aren't going to hit me with that hand and I always like to say once you grab me I got you. so grab me all you want, I want that.

Most Aikido principles evolved from Aikijujutsu and Older Budo. Shiho Nage is in Kukishinden Ryu as a kata and principle. If it has good use, we use it. Thanks! ; )
