I clearly recognize you’re asking spaceclover ( if only due to your last comment) but just wished to say that I randomly came upon the series last week [apparently yrs after the entire world read the book and watched the miniseries, by the by] & absolutely adored it - due to a fantabulous screenplay that, IMPO now, having read the book, after the fact, I believed improved upon the original and made it even better [please no hate mail; I was an English major and I know it’s blasphemy to infer or state outright that somebody has taken a play or novel and somehow “made it better”]. But I’m standing by that statement. The casting was superb; the entire production was broken up into segments that made sense and to be fair, lifted much of what occurs straight from the book. But to put the supernatural elements into play seamlessly was a joy to watch, which I have done, at least five full times since last week (and not counting the xtra times I watched specific segments, such as the first half of episode 3, a joy to watch, and an element added to the book that gives the main characters’ relationship more depth or, at least, gives the readers a better understanding of what they were doing thruout the last 6000 years. ) Just watch the trailer and I’m sure it gives you a good idea of what the series contains, albeit I don’t know it shows the dry wit, the real spark between the Angel and Devil (who have both been down on earth for the last 6000 years and have, thus, become more accustomed to human vagaries than their oWn personal counterparts), the grey area bet good and evil that starts to become evident over time, making the two entities not appear as different as one would naturally think, apparently every spare British actor at the time of filming, etc. But without any preconceptions and knowing nothing other than productions with numerous British actors are often quite quite well done, I thought it was the best thing I’ve watched since Hamilton (not in ANY MANNER COMPARING THE TWO. JUST SAYING.) and prior to Hamilton, the best thing I’d watched was BBC Sherlock, about half or more of the main characters showing up in one way or another in this production, leading me to believe that the Sherlock producers simply do not wish to give me a fifth season of the show. Bc they CAN get the characters together. OTOH, it’s given me the idea that I should watch any number of movies and tv shows with Michael Sheen and David Tennant so six of one... The series is a joy!! 😊🙃😚😍 (As was this video...)
