  • I loved the Rs6 and bought a second pair to use it in a home theater setup.
For those who are curious how they perform in a proper stereo setup, check out my other video.
In this video, I give my review of how they sound in a hometheater setup with regular AV amp and the Monitor audio LCR.
The person I bought these speakers from used a Marantz SR8200 + custom made speaker cables that were about $100 a pair.

Hi Thomas . Nice to hear good things about Monitor Audio Silver RS series . I use in my home theater setup a pair of Monitor Audio Silver RS1 as fronts and Monitor Audio Silver RS LCR center channel . They sound amazing . Obviously I use a subwoofer. Thanks .

Hi Thomas. Have you heard the rs8's? Just looking at a pair, second hand of course. Thanks for any input

Thomas, have you ever listened to the MA Silver 100's? The 6th generation, just replaced by the 7G... I just ordered a set, along with the MA C350 center. Just curious. Excitedly waiting for their arrival... I have the XTZ Edge 400 amp to drive the L/R when not doing theater duty off of the Emotiva XPA.
As far as the cables, my thinking, with these MA units, like you stated, a better cable may not play well with these. I look at these as home owner speakers, which they are, and are set up to run on 14 or 12 ga speaker cable due to the internals. I could see doing a GR Research upgrade in the future, then the better cable like the GR speaker cables Danny sell, would make these shine.

old video I know but i just stumbled upon it as I picked up a pair of used RS6's today... and decided to see what the internet thinks of them after deciding i enjoy them... dunno about "300 watts or no bass" ... got plenty o' bass on these with my marantz pm8006 70 watts per ch.... mine are closer to the back wall tho so maybe thats why ..

You do definitely get help from the wall but it would be nice one day if you can try it with a 300w power amp to see the difference. Everything is relative afterall.

Do you still recommend these for Home Theater? How are they at low volume?
Debating getting these used vs a Canton Vento set for home theater.

Sir You say this center gives a weak bass? If I pair them with onkyo tx-n3008, will it sound weak again? By the way worth buying ?

After watching this video I've now come to the conclusion why my budget home theatre setup sounds so good with the fan on 🤣🤣🤣😁😁😁

*I run **#Behinger** **#A500** with **#RME** **#Multiface** front end in my Recording/Mastering Studio and it sound great! My room is not treated so i plug the front ports with a sock to tame the low frequencies in the room. That adds tons of clarity to the whole mix and provide distinction in my panorama!*

I am into coloured SQ also. Between warmish and romantic. It used to be neutral when I was younger...but no longer. Being able to afford only mid range priced equipment...I stay away from equipment that are known to be somewhat revealing and overly transparent. To my ears...it usually ends up sounding etched, thin and shrill.

I have a friend who can do miracles with entry transparent equipment by playing with cables. One day i will make a video on it. You are right about thin sounding with a overly transparent setup.

*WAIT, did you say a (25 watt) was not enough or a 125 watt is not enough?*

    • @ThomasAndStereo
      @ThomasAndStereo  6 лет назад

125 watt is not enough to bring out the bass from these speakers.

@@ThomasAndStereo Are you sure? I want to buy those Rs6 speakers, but I use Cambridge audio CXA60 amplifier witch has 2x60w @ 8ohm. I think they sound good, because the speakers are very high sensitivity.

@@sandermustkivi7300 Sure, it will sound ok but if you want to bring out the FULL bass potential then you need more than that.
