35:16 i don't know if this is a new stage direction from the script itself or if it was someone's idea from this production but it's so so good, it really adds so many layers to Regina's character.
The moment Gretchen opened her mouth I got hyped for What's wrong with me and oh my she did not disappoint. Gretchen's character description is basically "anxious chihuahua with depression" and she really nailed the depression part.

Love when directors pick shows that they actually have the cast for: you guys had an insane female cast! Cady was quirky and likable and her voice was absolutely lovely to listen to. A great choice for the ingenue role. Gretchen's acting was amazing, the emotion she showed in "What's Wrong With Me?" was incredibly impressive for a highschooler. Karen is a great belter, I feel like this actor was very well cast. Usually Sexy is a pretty forgettable number, but I think she made it really enjoyable. I know some people are coming for Regina for the opt downs, but I don't think opt downs are a problem at this age because unhealthy high belting can ruin your voice once you're older. Her actor had the energy of both Rachel McAdams and Renee Rapp which is a huge compliment in itself. World Burn was incredibly impressive and you can tell she put her all into it. Janis and Damian had excellent chemistry - I normally dislike Revenge Party but all three leads' voices blend together seamlessly and made it very fun! I think Janis was the most perfectly cast person in this show. I'd Rather Be Me was the best number in this! Great job to everyone all around. And to the commenters being unnecessarily mean, you guys need to stop expecting high school productions to be Broadway caliber.

This Karen was so nice!! And the fun thing about playing karen is if you make a mistake, its still in character!

This director is definitely a good one.
i honestly loved the original except at 19:15 when she usually says "i never weigh more than 115" which i hate so much like 😡😡😤but they changed it to "all the filters you use look just like me!" which i think was a nice touch.
the original line is a foreshadowing to the Kalteen bar scene from later when she gains a lot of weight

I love this version! Everyone suits their roles so perfectly. The plastic all have pipes, Janis and Damien’s voices go perfectly together, and Cady is jus perfect. I can’t believe this is a highschool. This is fantastic ❤

@@baguettesorcererthis person never said they were bad. To be honest Regina had a great voice but this part definitely wasn’t in her voice and she shouldn’t have been casted as regina.

I loved world burn even if they made adjustments, she was still AMAZING. needing to change some high notes doesn’t eliminate her potential for the role. high notes does equal good. her acting and singing was still so so good and she deserved that role.

The acting in this show was really good! Everyone also had great voices but definitely some range issues. Cady and Janis were amazing. I feel so bad for Regina because her voice is absolutely beautiful just the high notes were not in her range. Whoever was doing mics needs to learn about gain. Good job everyone :)))

Janis, Damian and Regina were AMAZING
I'm quite late to watching this, but my school is doing Mean Girls rlly soon so I've been going around and watching different versions of it. I just want to say, as someone who has watched a lot go rlly good versions of this play, this is one of my favorites that I've seen. The Janis is so freaking talented! I can't tell you how many times I replayed Apex Predator just to hear the Janis' high note ❤❤❤
karen is saurgood , cady has her momentss where she slays, aaron might need more vocal training (More is one of my fave songs of the musical so i was kinda excited to hear) but i liked his acting!, the star of the show was Damiannn frr loved this damian like so in character some things that you can polish ofc but i really loved this rendition

My school did this play in 2005. I was Cady, it was so much fun practicing with my peers. I was blown out of my mind watching this. It was perfect.
That's not possible....unless your teacher downloaded the screenplay and you all did THAT. Which is a violation of copyright law. The movie came out in 2004 and it was never made into a play. Mean Girls the musical started on Broadway in 2019.

this was so good and so well done! everyone involved is so talented, and the singing and music is just amazing! loved all the characters and the acting was phenomenal. three cheers for the set pieces and visual effects, the maneuvering and changes were so fun to see
