They were cases were the og composer wasn't credited and sued the artist using the sample without his consent. Imo it's still not very moral either way, unless it's a remix (you add something on the somg and actually do some work on it)

No it's not just a sampling. If you use samples then you can have some stuff pasted in the song intro, few seconds of a very recognizable melody but this entire song lead is basically an ATC song with new lyrics and maybe a few verses with different melody. Check out Hung Up by Madonna or Live your life by Rihanna. First one has bridges from "Gimmie Gimmie" and the second one has few lines from O-Zone Dragostea Din Tei - this is sampling. Ava Max producers should involve original song name in the title as this is some sort of a remix. I'm kinda shocked with how bad new productions are. Since 2 years this industry has been flooded with so many copycats who just bought licenses to cover not that old but insanely popular songs with new lyrics ... and that's all. This is just an elevator to fame because everybody catch up the melody but none of these singers should be called either artist or even musician... just a performer that could be as well replaced with any singer without changing the feeling of the song.
