Alfie’s telling this story as if it’s a strange unusual thing to happen to musicians. I play gigs with a cover band 2-3 times a week and it’s VERY common to play the odd Workingmen’s Club where the average age is 80 and they don’t appreciate the sort of music you’re playing. Happens all the time..

I think the government has done quite well considering the circumstances. Yes they've made mistakes, but no one is perfect. No one in living memory has run a country during a global pandemic so there are effectively no right answers or wrong answer. You can't please everyone

You didn't pull him up on his numbers, 50 thousand is the number that has died due to austerity, and child poverty is a ridiculous claim because what is classed as child poverty in the 1st world is basically like the average standard for a child living in the early 80's, not real poverty at all, and maybe if their parents actually spent their money wisely instead of buying cigarettes & alcohol they might be better off!
