      How to be a REAL musician:
      - Grab your instrument
      - Accidentally play something really cool and original
      - You feel uncomfortable sitting so you adjust your sitting posture a little bit
      - Forget what you play literally 5 seconds ago
      - Shout "What the fuck did I play earlier" at least 15 times
      - Put down your instrument and feel unmotivated for 3 hours
      - repeat from step 1

    I have my guitar since years, I consider myself more like a beat maker, but this last weeks I had spent most of my free time just playing around the guitar more than ever and I see a lot of doors opening and just waiting to be explored.

      I feel like this is an exception to his usual videos. More often then not, he only starts answering the question ~40% of the way through the video, the beginning is mostly padding. I really like what he teaches though, which is why I keep coming back, but the pacing always bothers me.

    • @ccelik97
      @ccelik97 3 года назад

      The key trick is to know and figure which parts of what chords would lead to the next one. Other than that just spice it up to our taste and you'll end up with something tasteful enough. I think what Paul actually adds to all these is his great presentation that's easy to wrap your head around.

    Every Paul video for me starts with that annoying ad "wait don't touch that skip button" and then paul comes in saying.. ok with that out of the way..it feels good!
    Paul is the number 1 trainer in the world.. amd there is no number 2

      RUclipsr Jens Larsen has a video on it, as well as (where I learned it from) 8bitmusictheory, in which was called “dropping the 2 and the 4.” With orchestral pieces especially it can be used to create more open voices with formerly more closed voiced chords (which can can more clustered/muddy when strings play them).
      Essentially, a “drop 2 voicing” as far as my understanding is, “dropping” the second highest note in the chord an octave, creating a different unique sound

      A simple concept, but it allows for some variety which is always nice

    • @fortuneunfaded
      @fortuneunfaded 3 года назад +1

      But I could be wrong and maybe Paul has a different understanding of the concept !

      Drop 2 chords are just your basic barre chords for the most part.
