She’s young in the music industry give her time to grow and explore different sounds. She’s young and has a lot of time to do more music. The album is good.
This confirms why some people were saying the album is monotonous. There’s not much variation. Most of the songs seem to be in 1 octave (G3-G4) with a lot of the higher notes only being harmonized. I expected a bit more vocally from her tbh. I think a lot of the songs could’ve benefited from her having a chorus or bridge in a higher key.
Why would she tho? We know she's not a belter or a singer who feels comfortable doing high notes all the time, for a 13 tracks album this is really good, like is almost 4 octaves!
Not only that, the songs are just.... bland? Like, none of the songs in the album had anything extremely interesting or horridly catchy to them (imo) to the point that I even stopped listening to the main track of the album simply because of how disinterested I've become since I've started listening to the whole thing. Maybe I just have bad taste in music, which is completely on the table if so, but, this album is sadly a letdown for me :(
Normani exhibits lots of range actually, especially compared to many other current singers. The songs on the album also offer so much variation within the pop/hiphop/R&B/Soul spectrum.

I love Normani but she doesn’t have the strongest voice. She has a very wide range, beautiful head voice, and she’s capable of really nice runs. I feel like she knows her voice isn’t the strongest and instead of putting work into her voice she tries to hide it by focusing on other things like dancing which worked when she was a member of a girl group but now she’s on her own and really needs to focus on her vocals. The album is a nice debut but not enough songs stand out. ‘All Yours’ ‘Insomnia’ and ‘Distance’ stand out the most to me, I feel Insomnia could make a solid single. Been a huge fan of Normani since the X-Factor days I’m hoping she has more success with her second album and less studio interference.
I’m not mad at this comment. She sings like a dancer and focuses more on production. Kinda like Ciara. But hey, I’ll be attempting to dance, anyway lol. Maybe next album, we’ll get something different. I’m excited to see her growth.
To be honest, I think she’s more of a dancer than singer.. but that’s fine. She has nice voice but Normani is more of a “vibe” artist.. it’s about doing a bunch of vocal gymnastics for her.
