Hi Danielle. Love that magazine. I went to Graceland in 1982. I did hang out at the gates even though Elvis was gone but I remember him well. I was born in 1959 and remember my aunts coming over to baby sit and all that they played was Elvis music. I remember watching his comeback special because my mom was watching it! He was so gorgeous in that!!! I was a kid and loved him!! You're doing a great job!!! Thanks Danielle. Hoping Billy will be well soon. Love Billy and Jo!!! ❤ 16:17

Elvis' influence continues today with the younger generation. A couple from Spain skated to Elvis singing, Fever, at the Worlds Figure Skating Championships Ice Dance Free Skate. The young man wore a pink satin jacket with black trim. Great job, Danielle.❤
Billy and Jo have the most fun stories. Jo gets me to laugh cause when their talking something will trigger her memory to. Something and she starts laughing.
These are such fun stories from those that were there and really knew him bc they were family. They should put all these magazines together and make a book! Thank you Danielle for reading stories out of them. I never saw or met Elvis in person. I was 14 when he passed. I loved to hear his music when they played it on the radio. I watched all the specials and concerts they showed on tv bc my dad would have them on. I liked his outfits and the moves he did on stage. I knew he loved his mama and thought that was cool. I was sad when he died. I remember thinking we won’t hear his songs on the radio anymore. Boy that was wrong! Thank goodness!!
Happy birthday Dakota...!! 🎉🎉🎉❤️ Yeah, my husband told me that when he was a little boy, him and his family were coming home from visiting family in Arkansas. On the way home they stop at the gates at Graceland. Elvis was still alive back then. He said he remembered the gates being a pink or red color back then. He was even in Memphis when Elvis passed away. He was in the air force. He was staying with another friend of his that was in the air force too and he lived in an apartment in Memphis instead of staying on base. The next morning when they were heading to work they heard about Elvis passing away on the radio. They all were shocked and talking about Elvis when they got to the base. They just couldn't believe it.😢 Thank you Danielle for sharing another story from the Elvis magazine. That was sad.... knowing your grandfather's socks and thier money was stolen. I could imagine that was some hard times for them back then. Believe me...I know, bc I've been poor all my life. I'm glad life changed for Elvis and he had such a big heart and didn't forget where he came from. ❤❤❤❤
Hi Danielle, your so pretty in pink! 💗 Happy Birthday Dakota! 🎂 🎈 🎉 My husband Alain and I visited Graceland on our honeymoon. Graceland is awesome, it's a magical place and it was a thrill to visit. Sending prayers and Birthday wishes for all. Grace and Alain from Canada ❤❤❤
It's so sad that a distant relative would still from their own cousins! Poverty does make people desperate though, but on the other hand if I were that much in need I would hope that I would ask a relative before taking from them. Love that story from your dad. Keep them coming. Sorry I was 13 when he passed, but I would have loved to. We've missed your grandparents also. Love from NC
Your doing great Danielle, let your grandparents know we miss them and we can't wait to see their pretty faces back the show 😊 ❤ and we love you guys ❤
Happy birthday Dakota 🎉 Danielle you asked us to share a story with you in the year was 1975 Elvis came to the Pontiac silverdome December 31st I was 11 years old my father got tickets for me and my mom and some cousins my cousin's took me up to get a scarf from Elvis Elvis seen that I was being lifted up to get a scarf well this lady from my left snatch it out of my hands Elvis was headed back to Charlie Hodge to get more scarves so he didn't even see what was going on I cried the rest of the concert always wanted to share that story wanted to share it with Priscilla but never had the chance to and I really wanted to share it with Lisa Marie never got the chance to before she passed and I also wanted to tell Lisa Marie that I named my daughter Lisa Marie but anyways that's my story I'll never forget that day God bless you and your grandma and grandpa and your family thank you for sharing all of those beautiful stories love y'all ❤️ Linda Hewitt Banks
You COULD do a video like a radio DJ with a “call-in” from Billy & Jo so we could hear them. Happy Birthday to Dakota & best wishes in your upcoming fight. More wishes for Danny to have a Happy Birthday on the 24th Thanks again Danielle.
I was lucky enough to meet Uncle Vester back in 1980 when my grandmother (Mammaw), her sisters (Aunt Myrtie and Aunt Ethel), my cousin (Terry), my Aunt Myrtie's friend, Faye all came for Elvis Week. I had my picture made with Uncle Vester, but I don't know what happened to it. The one thing that I remember about it was he had a huge ink stain right under the pocket where a pen had leaked. I will be forever grateful to Aunt Myrtie and Mammaw for allowing me to tag along with them for that trip. I think it cemented my fascination for Elvis. I realized then that we and everyone else at the candlelight vigil were not just fans but also a family of sorts.
Question: how can I get a mailing address because I would love an autograph picture. You are doing a great job 👏 Thank you so much for keeping the page going 🎉
I wish your grandparents would stop apologizing and or saying its just my opinion. They should say, this is a fact, we were there, were his family, period.
Wow, I had a chance to see Elvis in person in June, 1977. I was just 11 years old, we went to California to visit friends. We were in San Jose, Elvis was set to perform in Santa Clara. Well, one morning in our friends house I started to read the local paper. It read; for one night "Elvis" in concert, I started jumping up and down and ran to my mom and asked her if we could go. She said; well, let's ask your dad. Dad looked at the price of the tickets and said oh hell no... I was crushed, I started to cry...The next Sunday paper I was reading and on the front page, a picture of Elvis and the headlines read; Elvis collapsed on stage. In the article, it read Elvis did 4 songs then collapsed on stage. It was noted that he ate 3 banana splits prior to going on stage. Anyway, my dad got a kick out of it and said; see, we would have stood in line for nothing. Parker did refund everyone their money back and this was also stated in the article... Darealdeal
