no it doesn't , because the original audio used in nfs mw isn't even a bmw sound , it's a TVR. Here the engine sounds flat compared to MW, the closest and most accurate thing to it is the transmission whine. The way it bounces when shifting gears . It's probably accurate to the original car but not the game 05.
its easy to get this sound. stock v8 4.0 engine, no exhaust upgrade needed, race transmission for the whine, no turbos or supercharger (keep it naturally aspirated). But if you want to make this car a little bit faster just upgrade the engine parts that doesn't modify the sound
The sweet whine sound comes from the straight cut transmision, it's lighter and supports more power and torque than a normal one but it produces a lot of noise, that's why it doesn't use it in street cars, but, the reverse gear of a street car commonly is straight cut, and in reverse, a street car can produce that whine. That's the reason why the whine sound raises with the speed and not with the RPMs, cuz the gears spin faster with the speed of the car
@@Mighty_Marty 3 were made if im not mistaken, the one from NFS that is iconic at this point was a TVR Cerbera that had the straight cut gears. pretty sure all actual bmw m3 gtrs were just bought by bmw

The whining noise of M3 GTR that appeared for the first time in NFS MW 2005 comes from the design of straight cut gears, used in the dtm and gt racing transmissions. I believe they wanted originally to make the feeling of actually driving a racing car, not just some pumped and tuned regular whip
