    Question: do you amend the soil for acidity in the new hole? If you do, what do you recommend?

    Thank you for posting this great information. Especially how it is best to wait until winter if they get too big. I had a question. I read many websites saying blackberry plants last 15 years. Does this mean that after 15 years an entire patch must be replanted?

    I have TONS of sprouts growing up around my home here in SE Mississippi but they're not dormant. Most are quite green and steadily growing. Suggestions? I want to move then so I can build lattice framework they can grow on.

    If I transplant a 1 year old plant, do I have to trim anything back, or can I still look forward to fruit production on the 2 canes that grew last year?

    • @dchambers986
      @dchambers986 Год назад

      much easier to trim them back... I tried to save the canes for fruit the following summer - not worth the huge extra trouble.

    Hi I was wondering if you will get a harvest from a primocane transplanted in the winter the following spring? Thanks

      normally, no - unless it's one of the new primocane varities from the U of Arkansas - then perhaps.

    New to your channel. Saw you with Doug and Stacy. Henry is certainly a good little helper. I am trying blackberries, but not having good luck. I ordered 15 plants with thorns several years ago, one by one they died. I have one thornless now that has yet to put off any runners, of course, we didn't have much of a winter here in Central Florida. My son grows them in TN and raises enough plants to sells them to a local nursery. There are several you pick thornless blackberry farms within 15 miles of where I live so I know they thrive in my area. Tried to find out what type plants they have, but they aren't a sharing information farm. My one surviving plant is near my neighbor's fence, could my underground runner be going into their yard rather than mine. What time of the year do the runners sprout out of the ground? When would be the best time for me to move the mother plant as I have seen my neighbor spraying weed killer down the fence line? What time of the year do you put organic fertilizer around your berries? Any advice sure is appreciated.

      Sorry you are having such a hard time with your berry plants! New shoots will be popping up right now.. they will also put off roots in many directions, and perhaps in your neighbors yard. you can try to move your original plant right now too. but over the winter would have been better time because of the plant being dormant. but if you wanna start over, i would try to buy some bare roots plants from Indiana berry company, just google them. and for fertilizer, we use chicken manure, or horse manure. Please let me know how things turn out! and also thanks for watching, Grandma!

    I live in Maryland and I purchase some bareroot blackberry plants. I've planted them in pots. Is it wise to put them outside in the cold or should I leave them in the house where it is warm until spring has sprung? Lol

      My blackberries have thorns on them.
