I'm so pleased I found this channel. I've been writing software for yeeeeaaars now and wanted to do some game dev for fun, but I found a lot of the unity tutorials have a sort of 'My First Programming' children's entertainment vibe to them. I'm a real fan of the style you've chosen for these!
Outstanding (and comprehensive) video tutorial! Covered some of the Cinemachine basics, setting up Shake without code, and also a couple variations with code! I love that you get into more of the details, rather than a superficial approach!
VERRY INPORTANT if you attempt this now it is very diffrent you will need to click "legacy" under inpulse type in the inpulse source to get almost all the settings she has
Thanks so much for this, my game is starting to get JUICED! :D I'm making a game where you fire a ball out of a cannon and the direction camera shake when shooting is amazing.
Nice tutorial, and pretty helpful. At first I was a bit concerned that it is too long, and not straight to the point. But is comprehensive and useful. I would recommend that if you like to do tutorials to try to make shorter ones as well for people looking just to make things work and not to know every bits of a tool. Anyhow, this one was great for me. Thanks a lot!
I followed your tutorial, but Unity might have changed things in 2021 LTS, because the shake only work once? My character will move around, hit something, the camera shake, but then if I move and hit again, it doesn't work, and never will until I restart the game. Also the scripts didn't look at all like what you had, so I did have to adapt a bit, which means I might have messed up a setting somewhere
Thank you! Finally I understand how CM's cam shake system works. (one question though: is it really necessary to get the component in Awake() if you already have a reference to the component?)
hello, thank you for the tutorial but I problem, when I call the screen shake to happen it works great! but then it does another screen shake each 3 seconds or so. EDIT: nevermind I was able to fix it and thanks for the tutorial again.
Make sure you aren't using the invoke repeating method I used as that was for an example. Try also checking your cinemachine impulse settings (the time envelope settings) and if the function that calls the shake is getting called when you want it to.
I wanted to show some support to the channel but since I'm using vpn I couldn't use my credit cards. And when I turned off the vpn, the option to support the channel was gone. Looks like donations are closed in my country. So, here's a big thank you instead

Little thing to know the CinemachineImpulseSource doesn't work through multiscene

If you have a reference directly that works too!

I'm calling the event manually every time my character shoots, but for some reason there's a 3 second delay and I cant figure out why.
