No, work life integration is a corporate buzzword that you're falling for that is meant to cross an employee's boundaries. Work and life are meant to be separate. Take a look at less capitalistic cultures. That's a norm people can live by to live more fulfilling lives and to remember we don't live to work. You can choose to let employers interrupt your daily life, but please don't do that to your coworkers when you become a manager.
Hi @emilyyau8023 Thank you for sharing your perspective. I understand where you're coming from. I completely respect that it's not the right approach for everyone. And I agree that daily life shouldn't be interrupted beyond working hours. Integrating life and work should be an option, not an expectation. I understand that we do have different priorities in life. It's just that for me, integrating life and work best suits my current situation. Especially with the work-from-home set up where boundary between life and work is definitely blurry - for me, it's nice to see it holistically and to manage my responsibilities in life and in work more fluidly. For example, while waiting for my manager's approval, I do the dishes or I cook my lunch, whatever best suits my current needs. Again, it is still a matter of personal preference. The goal of integration is to make life and work flow harmoniously. What’s most important, though, is that no one should feel forced to take on tasks beyond their responsibilities, whether in terms of time or job description. I appreciate your advice. If you're interested, I'd love to continue this conversation in a respectful way. Love, Junna
