Protecting the Wood Turtle!

La Mauricie National Park's conservation team protects wood turtles from predators by installing a mesh screen over their nest and monitoring it morning and night. As soon as the babies hatch, the team transports them to the nearest stream to keep them safe from raccoons, skunks and foxes. More details on this threatened species here: www.pc.gc.ca/e...
