The Avata 2 is worth the upgrade, just for the camera alone. Great test flight at the waterpark, and you were supported by a excellent supporting cast out there. Thanks for sharing.

This looks like an awesome location and a great compare between the two models. I have the same feeling if you already have the first one it’s only nice to do the upgrade but not needed. With that said, I never flown the first one.
If you don’t have either of the second is probably the way to go. if you have the first, I think it’s more of a want than a need
Nice vlog and review. I think the new goggles 3 alone make it worth it. G2 was the worst goggle in its class I ever used in all my years of FPV.
But G3 are probably the best goggle DJI has ever made, they are amazing really for the price.
The v1 avata is definitely totally okay too if you get it for a good price in mint condition of course. Really comes down to what you end up using it for.
Not sure about the plastic grading… I’ve witnessed two crashes in person so far, one at 12mph into a post and then falling onto concrete, and another into a tree, so far OK.
I crashed into a rafter while doing my quick review and it literally bounced back. The ducts seem more flexible to me. A lot of “bounce”/flex maybe better to absorb shock?
may end up being a good thing or bad, time will certainly tell.

The ultimate question is, does the 2 make you want to fly that style of drone more than you were flying the 1. It's basically the same experience as the 1 as far as flight style, so does the 2 make it any more fun?
The better connectivity and battery life is pushing me for sure. That and lower light camera stability.

What a fantastic location to fly. And i fly the first avata my first step into fpv and while i am more into cruising my avata than acro this new one is far to flimsy yeah better camera better flight time but i think even small crashes will result in sending it back to dji for repair and all the time and effort that would take even though dji service is fantastic is a big put off for me and i dont tend to crash my avata but with close proximity flying things do happen. Great video buddy 👏🎥👍

You're obviously flying in the harshest time of day and the video was great. Were y'all using ND filters? If so, which ones?
Neither drone had nd filters on.
Was not able to pickup NDs when I purchased the Avata 2. I was surprised how well it handled the midday desert sun.
