- In the wake of the big sound clash featuring Jah Sufferer, Fatman and Sir Coxsone at Brixton Town Hall, Blacker Dread speaks "diplo" about the future of Sound System, Reggae Music, and Sir Coxsone Outternational sound.
It could be argued, that Blacker Dread is the selector that made Coxsone Sound the force it was in the late 70's, 80's and early 90's. No longer a selector on the famous UK set, there have been many calls from the community for his return.
The artist call the sound name too early pan dub plate. As soon as the sound hear them name them pull it up! Say the name after 2 minutes and mek dem wait!
Good in sight... I'll still buy my 'Coxsone' music may it be slate, plastic original, or re-press if i can find it. Yet there are so many producers, sound systems and artist to mention..Wicked
he's got a good point there about pulling tracks up
when i dj i mostly play drum and bass, and a bit of oldskool reggae, and people ask for rewinds and i give them, but i do tend to play the track through.

Yes, this dance had glimmers of the Sir Coxsone sound of old, where the opposition would get damaged by such plates and armshouse mic talk from Blacker, Festus and co.
Unfortunately, like you say, blacker is right. Some nice tune did run though.
Selector or deejay shouldn’t pull up music, only the crowd can ask for a pull up! Sounds forget that!

Christmas just gone I went to hear Sir Coxsone v Luv Injection v Now Generation the drum Birmingham and to speake the truth I felt shame to hear how Coxsone sound my house set sounded better.
