great video man, my dad is tuffy rhodes and i have always had a passion for the NPB. When he played for the buffaloes, those were some of the best times of my life. Thank you for bringing light to the NPB!!!
My wifes an SF Giants fan, and Im trying to get into NPB. My brother got me a Tokyo Giants jersey, but I also have seen the 2 Hanshin Tigers game consoles 😂. I was hoping to come out of this with a firmer/less frivilous npb team decision, but your series was so good, I ended up liking all of them😂😂😂 this was great, thank you!!! Now I really need to watch but also go to a game!
Your love of the NPB and of baseball in general is in every pixel of this video. Thank you for taking the time to make this and I hope you continue making videos.

Fantastic video - finally gotten the time to watch all two and a half hours in one sitting! Keep up the great work on such an informative channel about Japan's baseball and its history.
This is my third time watching this through and MAN! Talk about a fucking deep dive. I wonder how anyone would have time to do all this research? Excellent work though and I’ll never look at Col.Sanders the same again.
@@GaijinBaseball oh shit my bad man I just saw baseball and clicked on it. But I hope you got your channel protected and stuff. I hate to see you go. Love your stuff as well
@@masterlee1337 Well they're all ten minute videos which each could have hour long videos made on them, I don't really know how much shorter he could've made this video lol.
Japanese "YAKYU" baseball was derived uniquely from American-style baseball and took more than 100 years to achieve. The fact is that on this same planet, there is another baseball that exists in a different spirit than the US style. Of course, the roots of baseball are USA(or UK), but baseball that was exported to other countries from USA and took root there developed in a different way. This would be a fact. 2023 WBC was the day that ”Japanese YAKYU” defeated the home of ”American-style baseball”. Another way to describe this is to say that it was a battle between Japanese-style "ZEN-INーYAKYU” baseball, which emphasizes "Teamwork among all players", and American-style baseball, which emphasizes "Individual power players", and it was a day when ZEN-INーYAKYU (Teamwork-oriented organizational baseball) won.
Hey man, awesome video! I’m just getting into following NPB and have been enjoying your videos! Any recommendations on how I can watch/follow/keep up with this coming season from the US? Thank you!
The NPB subreddit has a wiki section that points out all the places you can watch games, legally or otherwise. - PLTV gets you half the league - With some VPN tomfoolery you can watch games on DAZN (mobile only though, the website actively blocks VPNs) - PL Games are occassionally broadcast on a RokuTV channel (name slips my mind) but they are on a tape delay so it's not as good. - PLTV's English Channel broadcasts a game a month on RUclips, called the "Midnight Matinee" (I'm on that broadcast doing colour) - and of course where there's a wil there's a way for other sites that bear not mentioning here because I don't want to get blackballed.
Looking forward to the 2024 version. I want your recommendation on which teams I would love to be a fan with and meme teams in NPB (looking at Baystars). I'm more like Yankees/Dodgers kind of team with Pittsburgh Pirates being my meme team
That's gonna haunt me. TBF he was working with the best roster in NPB this year, so it'd be pretty hard to mess that up even with some of the bizarre decisions he made... like making the CL hits leader bunt all the damn time.
Japanese baseball fan here, but learned a lot from this video.

Wasn't the "odd playoff system" introduced the predecessor of the current Climax Series?
