YOU know yourself very well so maybe the avatar doesn't seem like fully YOU to YOU. But for me, a regular but occasional viewer who typically pays 90% attention to the content and not to YOU as a person - the avatar is pretty much identical. I don't know the full range of your delivery, I don't know how you sound or act when tired, sleepy, sick, drunk, angry etc. I only know a slice, a "character". It could be "you but slightly tired", "you but at an untypical time of day", "you but with a slight cold" - it's close enough to not be able to tell whether the slight variance is still "in person" or "out of person".
I think the hand motions and the "staring" are something you notice because you're looking at yourself, but if you hadn't mentioned it I wouldn't have noticed it. I also don't think it's as exaggerated as you're suggesting even after you pointed it out. Pretty good work over all. Thanks for walking us through it.

your HeyGen looks more like you and in flow compared to the other avatars, maybe it's you so you're being more critical but for me it looks decent and not AI
How can one protect themselves from an impersonator acting badly? Now to the other end: How can one prove the bad actor if the bad actor can merely impersonate themselves acting badly? What are we even doing?
looking directly at the camera is a feature not a bug, there are apps that will modify your videos with eye-tracking, so it looks like you're looking directly at the viewer instead of reading a transcript offscreen
I would say, that for someone who doesn't know you, this Avatart would be real you. Pretty scary. It's a different case, when you are looking it as you :D But this is still a pretty interesting idea to create youtube videos, using your own avatar talking with someone about basically any topic.
and it's only going to get better. and we will have to come face to face with the realization that we can only trust content from creators who we have followed long enough to see that they are trustworthy. historically, so much of what we have believe for decades is not factual, but we rarely questioned it. going forward we will need to question everything and create a way to support creators that are trustworthy-to somehow mark them as believable.
I think the result will be that nobody wants to use the internet anymore, but only meet in real life, which is kind of interesting, that the internet destroyed itself...!?
It’s funny how everyone wants AI generator content marked as AI but I never heard anyone say CGI in movies should pop up during a movie…interesting right??
And here I was thinking oh it is just another interesting video. Nope I did not see it was not you. It is like when you see those emails saying do not click on links because it could be phishing and you think who would be so dumb to click. Well if this was a test, I would have counted as the dumb ones, I did not even notice the blinking until you pointed it out.
damn. i couldn't tell that start was AI. maybe cause i'm not perfectly familiar with how you look. And only you are people who are close to you can spot the difference.
I think WE are more critical of our own Avatars.. because we know who WE are.. but honestly , if yOU had not said anything, I bet 99% of us had zero clue that was AI and NOT you.. So don't be so hard on the AI.. it is still nascent emerging tech.. just wait for 5 years.. it isn't like the cell phone or computers were fully functioning in THEIR 2nd years of development.. AI tech is advancing at RECORD speeds for any of us old enough to have played PONG as their 1st video game can attest to.
The concept of the "Great Replacement" suggests a shift where human roles are increasingly being taken over by artificial intelligence and influenced by large-scale migration. This idea raises concerns about the diminishing need for human involvement in certain areas.
It's easy if you are just doing a 30 second clip. But I f you are trying to do a 15 minute podcast then you have to spend 15 minutes just listening to the voices to segment them. There has to be a more simple efficient way? Can't AI differentiate the voices and give you timestamps? You also don't mention the cost of using Heygen for this. I heard it is like $1 per minute?
What is the use case of this? To fake interviews? To entertain people with random word salad from an AI making them believe it's from real persons? Sure this will be used extensively. But it doesn't bring any benefits to anyone except the big companies riding the AI hype. I don't like this

I had ZERO idea that was your avatar. And I've watched every one of your videos dude.
We are in trouble.
When he asked if its really him, I was like: well, if this video is only about NotebookLM (only voice), its you but otherwise....

NotebookLM is very recognisable. They really need more voice options, or custom voice options.
Do you think if you blink more in a test, would the avatar then blink more?
Notebooklm audio overview customize doesn't let you control how long the audio will be
for someeone whos not you and those who dont know you much they would think its you. i mean i thought it was you.

Great stuff Dude 👍🏻👌🏻🤙🏻
I had no idea that was an AI avatar. And I've watched a lot of your videos.
To be hones, I did not think this was AI. I thought you said that at the beginning just because of the topic. sigh...
DUDE, you are my f**ing hero!! Just tried the first one. I am laughing so hard it hurts.
I thought the intro was you. Maybe if I looked closer I would have noticed, but to the casual viewer it's easy to miss.
Does this count as immortality? :D
thanks lord for this interesting video!

Because movies are for fun and entertainment while the Internet was supposed to provide accurate information.

I thought it was you. I couldn't tell the difference.
The audio acoustics don’t match which is what makes it feel wrong. Sound is 90 percent of a video. Like to studio reverb in the car.

Oh, good idea. They're far too samey. That's one way to solve the problem (ie voice-to-voice).
Well not really, there’s two over lapping voices that sometimes speak at the same time which mimics natural speech
